Thank you for all the M119 videos. I have a 95 E420 and these videos are very informative. Aloha from Hawaii!

Great to see your videos, especially the M119 out of the car. I have to replace the lower harness - good to see where it routes and attaches to gearbox.

Nice videos. Always appreciate your part numbers btw. I have completed and driven my ‘94 E420 several miles now after following your videos. Runs great I had a few minor leaks from hoses and a manifold leak. Unfortunately I have a leak in the transmission pump area. I replaced the pump o’ring and torque converter shaft seal and paper gasket. Question is there any sealant required of the pump bolts or for the paper gasket? I didn’t use any. Trying to pinpoint the leak…. Thanks for any help.

That's good you were able to drive it. The work instructions state to not use sealing compound on the paper gasket because it can be used several times. The bolts need to be coated with non-hardening sealing compound and torqued to 13Nm. They do not specify a part number for the non-hardening sealing compound.

@@FriendlyMBTech Does that mean the pump bolts will definitely leak without sealant? I am planning to use a borescope to try and pinpoint the leak but I can see the bolt heads have red juice on them through the bell housing grill.

@@joewestfall2952 I would expect them to leak without sealant if it's required. Especially if the bolt holes go all the way through the case.

Hey NFT, did you end up replacing the rear main seal? Is it in one of the videos? Thanks.

Any advice on how to remove the vibration dampener on the m119 engine ( while installed on the car)?

Unless you can find or make some kind of puller that has a low enough profile to clear the radiator, your only two options are remove engine or remove cooling module(radiator/condenser/electric fans).
