    I was waiting for this video a loong time. Had 7gen Accord Type S and I loved that car but ever since I drove in 6 MPS I fell in love with it. Now I finally managed to get my hands on a 2gen 3 MPS and I'm in love with this car. Accord was an awesome car but MPS got me everything that I missed on the Accord. Hope you can get a 2gen 3 MPS for a video too 🙏

    That mazda 6's sound is amazing imo. That turbo just sounds amazing, but with a turbo 2.3l from a mazda I am not sure about the reliabilty especially with that 4WD system, and in Australia you can't go 4kmh above the speed limit with a $400 fine. So tbh I would probably choose the accord, but if the mazda 6 is reliable I MIGHT choose otherwise.

    A friend of mine bought a stock one of these back in the day when they were only a few years old and i drove it many times. While ok on the surface, the driving experience was anything but. That on-demand all wheel drive system was an absolute piece of crap. It needed too much slip to engage… and would quite often jolt when the rear kicked in and could easily mean you’d understeer at any corner if you weren’t prepared for it. You had to totally re-train your brain to drive around the all wheel drive system so the rear would engage BEFORE a corner, rather than during. I couldnt believe how un-natural it felt. And the clutch was like an on/off switch. On paper it offered a lot… driving it - no. Driving a Liberty/Legacy of the same era was night and day in my experience (for ‘equivalent’ all wheel drive)

    • @KiwiCarLife
      @KiwiCarLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh I dunno I thought it was pretty good

    • @Jaredscott89
      @Jaredscott89 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The factory awd engagement is always on, it never defaults to being open, it isn't designed like that. If the car was jolting under torque engagement you had worn out diff or rear motor mount bushings. If it was so bad to cause understeer, you either didn't have any bushing left or you can't drive and are carrying way too much entry speed (I would strongly lean toward the latter, its very common for amateur drivers). The equivalent Liberty of the time was slower and has worse understeer all else equal.

    • @KiwiCarLife
      @KiwiCarLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tbh I do kinda see what he's on about thinking about it again. If you watch the place where I whip it onto a motorway onramp, the front inside wheel spins up quite a bit before settling again. Did a similar thing in a legacy 3.0R for an upcoming video and it just hauled through there with zero wheelspin. Most likely down to the fact the Mazda is FWD biased whereas the legacy is RWD biased. It's naturally a better setup imo

      For the weekend I would definitely prefer a nice sounding car with a beautiful engine to support the claim.
      But as a daily, I would prefer to have a quiet, comfortable car ( good suspension, seating, reliability)...
      I.e. a civic or corolla or something similar as daily, Fun car a WRX/ R Type / audi RS3 aaaand a luxury sedan or a wagon for long trips...
      Unfortunately I can't even afford a proper daily 😅 in my universe 😂...
