Thanks Ross! This was on Friday practice on old tires and different carbs. Normally runs Mikuni flat slides but we've been battling for quite sometime with the jetting as we only have limited sizes jets and emulsion tubes. We fitted a pair of Dellorto 39mm round slides and was still setting up the jetting, still not perfect but way better than with the old setup. Unfortunately I broke a engine mount and couldn't quali and in both heats I retired due to gearbox problems(stuck in 2nd/3rd gear).
I timed you from start to finish on the second lap in the video and you did a 1:15'ish. Very quick. If you hadn't been held up in turn 4, you would have been quicker. Awesome stuff dude!
Thanks for asking, click "show more" in the video description. It is essentially a motorbike engine so gears are the same. The clutch lever is operated by your left hand and is nestled behind the steering wheel. 6 gears and a top speed of over 260km/h can be achieved depending on the length of the circuit.

The times for the weekend we're way off, I think I did like high 1:14s in practice(guestimate - no tronsponder) but Fabio Tafani did 1.11s 2 years back and Marcel Angel still holds a record here at 1.10.2 I think. The track is a lot more bumpier than it was 2 years back, I understand its been resurfaced on some spots a while ago.
Cool mate. Best way to get in touch with Any of us Superkarters in NZ is through the Facebook page 'Superkart Series' . Always good to have new members.
Hi. We are a club called the 250 Superkart Association of South Africa. TH-cam doesn't allow to put links in comments so check the links in the Video Description above and click to "Show more"
Awesome video Schalk. It looks like you break quite early in the first lap (warming up the tyres?). You're skipping around in the corners, so no doubt pushing it? Or is that just the 2 stroke wanting to spin you out?
Thanks man. This track is a bit bumpy though. I'd guess speeds around here are in the 240kph region but there are other local circuits with longer straights and at sea level where drivers have recorded on gps more than 260kph. I also checked your videos. Are you in Aus or NZ? Seeing that your profile name is SRC73NZ. My old man(who owns the kart) is moving to NZ later this year and would like to get in touch with the Superkart fraternity.
I don't think they race them here in NZ. I've been here 10yrs and never seen anything, best would be to ask on Pukekohe Park Raceway site or Hampton Downs Raceway
awesome footage, just love that 2 stroke singing away :)
Damn that looks fun, local gokart racing only got about 6-9hp...and now that just seems weak ^^
That video just made my day :)
Thanks Ross!

This is a really high speed track , top speed 260!!! & that spin at 2.38 a bit risky ))
yes, just a quick blip of the throttle and no clutch while shifting.
6 gears - Push fwd in to 1st and pull towards you to go up in the gears. Its a Yamaha TZ 250 motor and gearbox, same as bike.

Awesome vid what kind of karts are those
Thanks!
Do you take the foot away from the accelerator, when you shift? Looks like FUN!!
How do you mean? Left foot brake, right foot accelerator, right hand shift, left hand clutch(only for pull away).
wow awesome, this is my dream¡¡¡... some day¡

Without sound, it almost looks like FFW mode, darn, that's fast....
Nice vid, track looks like fun. Top speed more around 240kph in these though.

World's Fastest 330P4. Best engine sounds. Hear/See a lap ,race David Piper Ferrari 250LM. Top ten
How to overlay both laps. Could look quite cool

125cc's aren't "Little", They're 2 strokes, so they make 2x the power of a 4 stroke (for the size).
Haha I actually want to wrap my kart in a Mario Kart theme, seeing that my nr. is 64 as in Nintendo 64.
Eish Mila dan moet jy kom ry! :p
250cc Superkarts. Race on normal car circuits instead of kart circuits.
