YazziJazzi oh shit, I just saw you said the same thing right after I commented... nice hahaha. Ya know this got me thinkin now... maybe men are rulers of the world and woman were and kinda still are suppressed, because men are not the tough ones in reality. The shit woman have had to endure as far as being in power... shows immense strength on our part. A strength worthy of acknowledgement when compared to men enduring the same suppression and abuse in war, for an example... To endure such a war and suppression and imbalance..... it shows the easy and fear ridden path many men took to gain “power” all to that gender exclusively.... woman will rise and be in power eventually, I’m sure of it. And I got a feeling they’re gonna do damn good.. There are crap people in both genders of course... but woman are somethin else ya know? And of course we need men to balance that... but anyways, yepp aha. I’m rambling. Cool shit.. ha

One of my biggest hopes for the future of humanity, is that we can co-exist with the beautiful creatures of the world together, in an environment that suits us all. Yeah, let's not romanticize anything here. Humans can be just as forgiving and loving, and chimps can also be violent and cruel. They've been observed murdering each other, slaughtering entire rival troops, singling out and violently bullying weak members of their troops, etc... Take the good with the bad and realize that they are just complex animals, like we are. They share 99% of our DNA, after all.

But on the other hand think of the many lives saved and bettered because of research done on primates. I know, I know there is a lot of unethical stuff going on and ideally we would find some other way. Other ways are in the tube, too. At some point we will have computers powerful enough to simulate the very complicated bio-chemical interactions, which chimps and other primates have been used as analogue for.
@@Pow3llMorgan It is just not an option, it isn't! You don't just try out stuff on handicapped people or children either, they did that in second world war and now we realised that it was not good. @@chilidog3518 What the fuck? That's not true at all, primates share a lot of DNA similarities with pigs, but we aren't more closely related to them genetically. mike johnson It's highly improbable she was attempting to state a taxonomic fact if she was watching this video and talking about smiles and hugs. Obviously it was a reference to our kinship with other animals, seeing as how we are both sentient and and capable of complex emotional attachments (that can last decades as shown here). Nonetheless, humans are apes, and if our species is not to egocentric to recognize it, we have moral responsibilities to other animals if only to minimize unnecessary pain. Hans Oberlander *1.* Not knowing an obscure piece of trivia doesn't qualify as stupidity. Intelligence is a measure of our ability to learn. Stupidity is thinking that knowing a random fact ...like the social implications species-specific facial expressions... makes you smart. *2.* She said that chimps smile, and she was correct. She never explicitly said the smile corresponded to any particular emotion. Her entire point was that chimps have emotions like we do, and that "smile" is an expression emotion one way or another. Chimps both smile and grimace. It was Mike that said they don't smile. Any new information Scoldpedia could have offered on the distinction between the upper teeth smiles and grimacing smiles may have been interesting, but neither conflicted with nor was relevant to her underlying point. *3.* Instead of constructively contributing his inside knowledge on the subject, he attempted to belittle her else under some false pretense of ignorance because of this piece of trivia. If he truly believes that reflects a low intellect, then yes, both are solid cases for concluding he is "stupid" and an "asshole".

Did anyone notice how the chimp extends its hand initially, but even before that the smile across his face. How do we humans greet one another? In exactly the same fashion, a smile and handshake. Priceless.
These chimps were raised in captivity and taught that by humans.

Dang, that chimp gave her a huge smile when she first came up. Then hugged her like she was an old friend she hadn't seen in years. It looked just like two humans interacting with each other after years of being apart. Wow, very cool. Can't say chimps aren't intelligent thats for sure.

Chimps are perfect reflections of human emotions. Ofcourse I couldn't watch it without tears in my eyes. Thank God I did, I still got some emotions left in my heart. I hope it still does. Beautiful reunion which couldn't be more better and real.

Damn I'm normally pretty tough when it comes to emotions but not gonna lie I got tears as soon as that chimp reached out for her on the boat. 25 years!! It's insane that they've remembered her, must show how great of an impact she had for the lives of these animals. May she receive all the luck and blessings in the world ❤
I think you forget how closely chimps are related to us.
It’s easy to dodge and escape emotions, what’s tough is to actually feel emotions and let them happen without fear.
Cool shit.. ha

Humans are capable of genuine love and compassion. If we weren't we wouldn't mourn the deaths of people close to us. We wouldn't marry or care about our mothers and fathers.
Animals don't have the same level of thought. Can an Animal love and be loyal to you? Perhaps. Maybe he remembers when you fed him or protected him. Maybe he sees you as a member of his pack or family unit. Humans and Animas have existed for many, many centuries. It's highly improbable she was attempting to state a taxonomic fact if she was watching this video and talking about smiles and hugs.
Hans Oberlander
*1.* Not knowing an obscure piece of trivia doesn't qualify as stupidity.
