This pisses me off, not only do they take away a safe way for people to race. Now I also think about an increase in street drag racing and causing harm to people i love.
I can't believe Irwindale is closing. I've never been there (I live across the country lol) but I've always liked this little track. So sad to know that I'll never get to see racing there... At least we aren't losing Kern County, yet that is...
That is a real shame to hear that the race track going bye bye, so many good tracks no longer out in california, hopefully the racers can figure out a place to race. Maybe you can get something going on out at Pomona . Well, best of luck out there, fellow racers.
The original Irwindale Speedway was shut down by Miller Brewing Company.. that track had a quarter mile drag strip a Speedway track and a motocross track it was really a neat place to go... then when this track open in 1999 is kind of cool but now it's gone bye-bye so sad.. before this Fontana went bye-bye. Fontana is going to have a short track but not like that major Speedway
Speedway at WillowSprings or Orange Show Speedway in San Bernardino are closer and better than Kern Raceway in Bakersfield. I’ll miss good old fashioned Late Model Stock Car racing.
During the past two years Drag Strips and Speedways across the country have been getting closed down. We should be out there fighting to keep the racetracks alive and stop them from being destroyed. I'm trying to figure out why people are hating on NASCAR to make them want to take down the racetracks, it doesn't make any sense. The city of Los Angeles is planning to close down Irwindale Speedway, the racers can't let that happen. Now is the time for the Stock Car Racers and Street Racers to take a stand and fight for the Drag Strips and Speedways that they call home. If this keeps up, it's only a matter of time until they decide to close down Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Nevedas only racetrack and Phoenix Raceway in Arizona. The government could build some new racetracks with four lanes and an oval track for racing, but they don't seem to care or want to spend money to help out the Stock Car Racing community.
Very sad......So Cal back in the day.loved its motorsports ...I remember O C I R in lake forest..Irwindale dragstrip right off the freeway , Riverside , Ontario motor speedway ....I was even lucky to have been to Ascot in Gardenia ... Greedy developers and a new generation of non motorsport people have ruined it .
Wow it’s nice driving by that place it’ll probably turn into a new stadium hopefully giving great jobs in the future after the geological tests are concluded and given the green light
race tracks need historical protections from development nearby
They should have bought the land the racetrack was on then in stead of renting the land
Yep…get ready for all the street races
First they shut down Riverside and turned it into houses. Now Irwindale.
Ontario motor speedway and Fontana also. Ascot, OCIR. We lost many a good track
Riverside became a Mall.
Saugus speedway...
Don't forget Ontario Motor Speedway and Auto Club Speedway.
That is why there are no more NASCAR races in southern California.
@@danw2112 I said that 🤦♂️
Dude what! Where else are we gonna be able to street race
I was thinking of Van Nuys especially of their car cruising🚘
Portland International Speedway is owned by the city. It is considered a public park.
That’s pretty great
Oregon is so classy
Well done Portland c 👏
WOW sooo Many times I have been there . Also been fun and exciting.
SoCal is one of the biggest influencers when it comes to car culture world wide
It’s sad that we can’t even have a place to enjoy it safely
Just terrible, why do we need more industrial building that sit empty ?
Anyone catch the news anchor on their phone a the end?

@@janlorenzabellana4206 but we want a cool a shopping mall..
@@SeanDollu should have bought the property then
@@jacobsavary2583 that’s what they are already doing so why would i do that.
They're building a freaking shopping mall. that's crazy...
Adam's Motorsports Rsceway is going to get it a big influx of business!

This is not the first time this has happened either , and so far no one's ever been able to build on this property , we shall see

Pave paradise and put up a parking lot.

The Fast and the Furious: Bakersfield Drift
That Sucks!!
Dang! Check out the figure on Amanda
SoCal just doesn't care about auto racing. PERIOD!
But yet it is a car centric place
Close another race track then expect less street racing 😂😂
Future homes
It's crazy how much Monrovia, Duarte, Covina, Azusa, and Irwindale have changed in regards to housing. Not affordable, but housing nonetheless.
They said business complex and outdoor mall
@@stevesmith756 Lol makes less sense like CRE is a booming sector

OCIR, ASCOT, Ontario motor speedway, Fontana . Ca sucks
Even More Street Takeovers
Well it’s been closing for years, but maybe this time it is for real. Sad to see it go.

If the Track is destroyed Then NASCAR BUILD A TRACK AT LA And HOST THE CHAMPIONSHIP INSTEAD OF PHOENX AZ
NASCAR had 3 world class racetracks in 60 years. They all turned into shopping malls, condos, and Amazon warehouses.
This sucks!

Not deiving to Bakersfield... Gonna start street racing again
Take an English class instead. When you’re finished, read some books so you can see how sentences are structured. 👍🏿
That's EXACTLY what the State of California WANTS. ...It's a Trap.
so sad 😢
Keep voting Blue
That place was falling apart
Probably because the owners for the last two years ago aren't going to improve anything knowing they are tearing it down.
Sucks man. Track by track, California, the once car culture and racing capital of the country, is disappearing.
So sad....
this will not end well
Oh I
I guess it's time to take it to the streets.
Thank you calif

Turning into a big warehouse like All the others next to it.
😡
hey, its kalif, get used to it! money talks, BS walks!
