- Walt Disney came to Los Angeles in the early 1920s with nothing but a suitcase and a dream... and an Uncle who lived near Hollywood at 4406 Kingswell Avenue, Los Angeles CA. The House still stands in Southern California, but a flurry of news activity has recently reported that it is about to be demolished! So I've come up to go INSIDE the house (for just a brief second) stand on sacred Disney ground and find out what's going on for myself.
Then we go down the street and find WALT DISNEY'S ORIGINAL SKATE DECK, and see the original Disney Brothers studio building, and then one more historical stop... Disneyland!

What a cute story about how you and Ally met, very sweet. Although I didn't meet my wife at Disneyland I did propose to here there, during dinner at the Blue Bayou. Then this past Friday as my wife and I were walking down Main Street and leaving the park we saw a guy propose to his girlfriend right in the middle of Main Street, which was really touching to see.
Love waking up during the weekend and having a new episode of my favorite "tv show" to watch.
TV show! Yes, that's exactly how I think about Justin's vlog. I pity people who spend over $100/month for cable.
Yea, if you combine his 2 channels, Adam's 2 channels, and the Tim trackers channel, you'd have the makings of a tv lineup, or if those 3 combined all 3 of their TH-cam pages, their own tv channel

do ya watch dan bell....he is my twice weekly along with adam and justin and tiki trex , it's a good binge on sundays, hehe he isnt into disney but he does exploration of dead malls, and abandoned hotels, big buildings...etc. he is traveling right now too, and i have really enjoyed those vids alot!
Thank you Justin! And how awesome of the owners of the property to let you see the house and film it....I bet they are getting a ton of grief and have a mountain of stress. Maybe they will watch this...so Thank you to them...and You couldn't have let a better guy take a peak....Justin has the utmost respect for history and reverence for it.

That is a cool classic Craftsman style house; even if it wasn't associated with Disney, who the heck would demolish it?? Sad to think that someone would tear it down rather than restore it to its original charm. Thank you for the tour, Justin!

Fun Facts: Xerox was founded in 1906. "Xerography" was used a lot in animation up until the advent of computer assistance. Ub Iwerks experimented with it in Sleeping Beauty but 101 Dalmations was the first to use it throughout.
The house Walt and Roy rented across from uncle Robert's place looks a lot like the house in the Disney animated short "The Little House" from 1952. Congrats on 2 years!
I loved seeing Robert Disney's House. I love even more hearing that the new owner is trying to do something to save it now that they know the full historical significance of it. But most of all, I loved hearing the story of how you met Ally. Happy 2 Year Anniversary to the both of you.

Hands down my FAVORITE video of yours ever! I love that you kept this as one video with "history" as the connecting thread. You should be so proud of yourself. Think of all the things that YOU had to MAKE HAPPEN in order to "be in the right place at the right time" or be "lucky" to get the owner's permission to go inside the Disney house. Same thing with meeting Ally. Had you not put all of the hard work into your channel, been yourself and then done something super nice (meeting up at Disneyland) for someone else you wouldn't have your relationship.
Glad to hear all that good stuff about the homeowners. I hope a national news outlet picks up THAT story so fans leave the family alone :( It's a shame how that story snowballed into something negative and this video is THE ONLY PLACE I've even heard the owner's perspective. Great reporting! ;)

This is my dream house, and not because of Disney. It's gorgeous. Who in their right mind would want to demolish it?
I spent a while reading about this house, both Jim Korkis stuff and then that book specifically about the garage. I got to visit that garage a couple of months ago. It's so nice to hear that they're going to be able to save the house and move it. THANK YOU for showing the interior. Compare the rock fireplace and low ceilings of that interior to a house in Toon Town ( or any old 1920's Disney cartoons ) and you get a feel for the inspiration. Good for you for getting inside the house and showing the rest of us.
I'm not surprised that the owners wanted to demolish the home -- it's what people might do to improve the value of their real estate -- but I couldn't figure out why they couldn't get the value out of the Disney brand. It got me thinking about Milton Friedman's discussion of a market failure. Such a "failure" now doesn't appear to be the case, as the home's value wasn't realized. The value just needed a little advertising in the form of social media and news broadcasts. It's funny, we lost a dog here in the Inland Empire, but we found the dog on Craigslist and he was just blocks away from there. I remember seeing Kingswell on a smartphone while heading into the Hollywood area. Advertising works wonders.

How awesome that you found someone who shares your love of Back to the Future. I knew my wife was the ONE when I found out she loved Star Trek, Quantum Leap, Muppets, and Ninja Turtles. She didn't like Star Wars that much, but I was able to look past that, mainly because she doesn't think I'm ugly. We celebrate 19 years in June.

Such a gorgeous old home! Incredible example of original Arts & Crafts architecture. It's in terrific shape, too! Why would anyone tear down a perfectly wonderful home, regardless of the house's original owners. People and their need for mini-mansions...killing historical architecture. Smh...
