Heavy gunner is the best class no doubt.
With the autocannon there are 2 stats that are key: Reload Speed & Fire rate - basically turn it into a burst weapon and the lack of aim becomes a non-problem and with the max rank overclock (150% firerate -15% accuracy) combined with (punch through) is actually overpowered.

Suggested Tip: For the Engineer's LMG Auto Cannons choosing Fire Rate over Damage is preferrable for several reasons. 1) The turrets never run out of ammo so they have no down time due to an ammo reload. 2) If you choose the plasma overclock greater fire rate equals more bounces. 3) If you choose the mining option more plasma bounces equals more free mining.

sounds like a plan for my next run. Gunner and Engineer are my favorite classes.
1) Choose fire rate over reload speed if your reload speed is faster than your magazine depletion. This heavily depends on the weapon.
2) total dmg = damage x (1+crit rate x crit dmg). Explain how its like volume. Too much in one dimension has diminishing gains.
3) focus on one weapon
4) kiting techniques and zig zag running bunches up enemies
5) Lava is your friend. Step on it more often to dodge
Tip: when the dreadnought braces before he jumps, just start running perpindicular to him. If you run straight away he will jump and hit you. If you just go to either side he will miss every time.
That's a good one. I know that if you clear a large enough area you can just run in circles and that works well.
And if you're close enough to him he will actually just jump over you.
Yup, if you time it right, you can also run towards him.
Tips i can give are: You can mine 3 wide and 2 deep, when in positioned correctly in front of a wall or minerals. So be aware of your positioning when mining. it might safe some precious time. 2nd is.u can mine while standing still. so for engi it is good to move just a tiny bit and then stand still so he deployes his turrets (if u have them) then move again a tiny bit and stand again.
gold is for dwarf upgrades and nitra is for weapon upgrades. for karl!
one thing I learned pretty late is that overclocks are broken and you want to focus one weapon rather than all four

few things to say tip wise.
1. You can position yourself in a way that you mining 4-6 rocks or ores at once in most cases, try to position best you can, also long as you close to what you want to mine, you can stop moving, you don't need to repeatedly move toward to mine. This is useful if you have any artefacts that requires you to not move, making them more useful than they would've been.
2. try to be careful mining red sugar, say you only need one drop of it (heals 15 per) and you say, mined out the whole thing but you only needed 15 heal, it'll still pick all of them up cause they are already queued up to be collected (cause its before heal kicked in), this wastes 2 drops of it, that's 30 HP, that can sting later if you really need it. It won't pick them if your health is full however.
3. if dreadnought is about to hit you and you are around other bugs, getting hit by them is a lot less painful than getting hit by the dreadnought, always avoid dreadnought dmg no matter what it takes. I only mentioning this cause sometimes no matter what you do, something is going to hit you but least make it not the dreadnought.

Tip for new players - MINING.
Focus on mining, and in low lvl dungeons focus on metagame resources, most important is PEARLS. They give you armor, which will greatly increase you survival, and also luck, which is will made any build stronger overall. And in general, in higher difficuly especially - mine dem gold and nitro every time you can.
I like digging channels into the rock when the swarm is incoming, so you can funnel the bugs into the choke point. You can also experiment with kiting around large swarms so some of the firebugs are in the front line -- focusing fire on them sets off chair reactions within the pack so you can clear out huge numbers quickly. Try experimenting with not moving all the time.. its not as essential as it is in Vampire Survivors / clones of this nature.
"Softening up" Red Sugar is better than pre-mining it, as once it's on the ground it doesn't glow through the swarms, so leaving it in the wall with one or two swings left to shake it loose is a better option.
Standing on the ramp is enough to complete the mission if you wanted to farm a little xp before the timer runs out
Tip - maximize mining with positioning, hit 5 or 6 at once.
Tip - face enemy while mining sideways with front/ rear shooting gun only
Tip - max main dps weapon at level change by re rolling selections 1 or two times. You can get crazy damage if you just focus one op weapon
tips =) 1. try to position yourself to mine as much rock as possible at same time(you are usually mining 2, but you can position at another angle and mine 6-7). 2/ you can use exploding bugs to mine rock and minerals for you (just lure em near rocks-minerals and trigger explosion)
my tip is that this weapon you're using will attempt to shoot thru 1 or 2 layers of rock if a bug is on the other side and you're facing towards it, so while digging you'll see the weapon ammo lower but it wont even reveal any bullet animations
Ah, the autocannon. I just unlocked the overclocks for that beast and fell in love with it immediately. :D

Autocannon is a powerhouse but you definitely need the fire rate/reload speed to keep it's line of fire moving, that's its only downside early on, is its stuck firing in one direction until its magazine is empty
Some tips for new players: better rarity is not always the best upgrade. I've seem a few players getting every single Rare or above, even if that upgrade wouldn't be usefull for them in the moment. Leveling up guns, even with common upgrades, are often better than to get a Rare or Epic character upgrade. Get Overclock as fast as you can, those are the ones that makes or breaks the run.

I think you're right with the second elite spawning off the map. One run the Dreadnaught jumped into the red impassable terrain and never got back out. So maybe the elites can do the same thing 🤔

I hate how the autocannon's barrage never changes its angle. This means that i f you're actually doing what you're supposed to do in this game (i.e. mining multiple veins, kiting and dodging enemies) Then by the time the barrage is a quarter of the way through, the direction it's shooting is almost completely irrelevant.
But the damage is just so incredibly higher than any other weapon that it's worth it to stand in one place and kill everything that walks toward you. It's actually BETTER to block yourself into a corner, because that way the autocannon will always target the horde.
Cryo boom stack = profit
Cryo grenade = profit
Suggested Tip: When hovering over a level-up upgrade, arrows will appear on your weapons at the bottom of the screen if that specific upgrade affects it.
Similarly, when selecting a new weapon, dots will appear on your weapons to show how many traits each of them shares with the hovered over weapon.
Suggested tip: if you are trying to unlock overclock, do one weapon at a time! when you try to do two at once, you are stuck with two weaps that have no overclock and probably wont do enough in the final stage, leading to you getting none
You dont have to beat the stage to unlock

From what we've seen - and to be fair, we haven't played the game - the most consistently strong weapons are thunderhead and krakatoa. both of them do a lot of damage with really advantageous firing patterns, and can fit in pretty well with a build. definitely believe M1000 is strong too, since it's pretty similar in firing pattern to thunderhead, and seems to have really good damage of its own.
Those are definitely all S tier weapons IMO.
probably the biggest tip is focus a lot more on resources and dont stay too much on one place, so you can buy more stuff on every shop, and probably focus on getting one weapon to lvl 18 quick, specially gold/nitra and do the objective every 'floor'
Few tips for your tutorial video:
1. unlock the BLT artefact (have 300hp) as soon as you can, easiest when you have the gunner and can reliably reach stage 3. All the other artefacts are are "meh" or situational
2. If you don't want to do the maths for each gun, reload speed > fire rate > damage in most cases (can't fire if the mag is empty, the little ones will nibble you to death if you don't have enough lead in the air, damage is best from reload * fire rate, not direct damage upgrade)
3. Try to have at least 1, ideally 2 tags common across all your guns (light, medium, heavy / beam, projectile, explosive / etc.) this will make sure that the non-weapon upgrades are more likely to boost more of your weapons
4. Don't buy stuff in the stage shops that you don't need, save your money
5. Save 50 gold whenever possible for re-rolls, particularly for weapon selection. No. 1 priority for first 3-5 minutes of stage 1
6. Some weapons do actually suck right now (looking at you flamethrower)
7. Some weapons are actually awesome (Autocannon and sludge pump for example)
8. Most of the weapons are OK, particularly if you lean into one to two tags when selecting 2nd, 3rd and 4th (tip 3)
8. All classes are viable, but you might be better with one style, or hate one style
9. If in doubt take projectile weapons. The other types need more micromanagement. Add piercing overclocks when they come up. Add cold, fire or electricity if you don't get piercing
10. Don't spread your level-ups across all the guns you have equipped, prioritise breakpoints (6/12/18) when upgrading.
11. Cosmetics are your friend, particularly when unlocking overclocks. Until you are getting enough level ups to naturally level up every gun (well into level 100 I think), cosmetics that take you to a break point are actually functional upgrades
12. Rock and Stone or you ain't coming home
Idk if you'd want to classify yourself as a pure deep rock streamer, but rogue-lite streamer is magnitudes more malleable. Solid work friend.
as soon as you see the dreadnaught charging its jump, take a 90 degree turn and the jump will always miss you
Tips: Learn to read the minimap, white markers are secondary objectives & meta resources and the dimmer ones are resources nodes. Weapon firing patterns is always something to pay attention to so you can "aim" correctly.
Those are great tips. Even people with hours in game can improve on those things for sure.

I’ve been loving this game! I came to ask you a question though. Do you feel like the grenades are rly weak? All my runs where I took either the incendiary gunner nade, HE driller nade, or lead burster felt rly weak. They just miss a lot and their dmg feels lackluster, thoughts?
They start very weak but I feel like they aren't too bad once they've been powered up a bit.
TIP sure it would become obvious once you have done a few runs but you can use the exploding ones to do damage and take out other glyphids. been taking a break from this and playing vampire survivors but you might have made me wanna get back into this, I am unable to get past level 2 hazard at the moment i think
I think gunner and scout are some of the strongest classes rn. Gunner obviously because of his insane firepower but scout, especially his 2nd iteration, has a crazy dodge skill.
I have definitely been overlooking them and Kinetic weapons. But these guns pack serious damage.
I'm still a fan of the engineer with the turrets (plasma) that follow you around.
@@Mike-lp9rv Fire turrets have become a big favorite of mine.
tip: try to stay around the middle of the map, having a breakable wall behind you is better than being around the edge because it gives you a place to retreat.
A tip I have for new players is that you can step up to the little detonators and run away again to clear the wave and terrain for you
one tip is to look at the hotbar when hovering upgrades, it tells you which of your weapons are applicable for the upgrade if you can't remember what each weapon's types are.
That's a great one. I really like the tag system that they have in the game for weapons.
some questions:
1. in the original game, certain maps would drop certain upgrade resources. is this still the case, or is it completely random.. if the former, what map is good to farm what resource.
2. i understand higher hazard level = harder challenges.. but what is the return? more credit? more resource nodes?

One of the most addictive games I ve played. If you put out a top builds video after you ve tried them all, that would be cool.
Probably will at least do a tier list for weapons. Maybe something more in depth with specific builds.
You can stay on the ramp until the time expires and do some more dmg/xp stuff
I had a bug I missed the ship but the timer went into minus and then bounced around 20mins mark I stuck around and got to level 90 on stage 1, then got in the ship. The rounds lasted no more than 60seconds and I struggled to even grab a single level 😆
boomstick w/cryo and more projectile overclock is really good support, freeze an entire swarm of grunts in 1 shot
I need to make use of cryo for support more.
Lovin your vids man. This is such a fun game and I've learned quite a bit.
Another Tip: Mathematically the Squint EE5 Goggles are a wash. The -30% damage nearly negates any gain the +30% crit and +100% crit damage add. The math works as follows: (Without Goggles) 100 hits at 100 damage = 10,000 damage. (With Goggles) 70 hits at 70 damage + 30 hits at (70 x 2.5) = 10,150
What it does it reduces your lines and lets you specialize more. You can get enough +damage to normalize the damage loss, cap your crit to 75-80% and then lean on crit damage to scale into end game.
The math should change if you take already existing crit stats into account right?
The lead bursters with the overclock to split them into 3 separate grenades causes gunners projectile ability to go off very rapidly in succession
My only tip from playing the demo is be a loot gremlin. Scour the map for every gold and nitra vein there is. I promise nothing in terms of effectiveness. I am just really greedy and it facilitates it.
Oh also max out reload speed on the boomstick shotgun.

Here are some questions:
What do the elemental effects do? What does the +30% Status effect dmg actually effect. What does Attackspeed effect on some strange weapons. Some overclocks literally say some confusing things with no explanation. For example Sludgepump. I now assume, there is an instant hit and afterwards a Dot on the ground. What does Firerate do with Sludgepump? Do dots crit? If I take the Big One, that changes Magazine size to 1 but fires one big bullet. What happens to the Firerate for that weapon? Do i still get firerate Upgrades afterwards?
Why don't the Weapon damage Stats at the end of a run match up with the overall dealt dmg? What changes by changing from Hazard 1 to a higher Hazard?
Do the Critters have different resistances to damage? Are some more resistant to kinetic than against electric damage? What about fire? How does Armor affect damage you take? What does Salvaging an overclock do?
I have some of the same questions. Trying to get answers. I like to know all the specifics also.
I heard you say the m100(the sniper looking gun) is your favorite/strongest in your opinion but I don’t see a video with it. Love to see one with it built out!

It's been a little bit but I always feel like I should give it another go.
If you feel like you can kill the boss without droping the pot on his face, you should do it the regular way. Because by droping the pod on the boss you make the level shorter and you get less XP.
always level new weapon to 12 before you die...dont worry about passing the final level as long as you level new weapons to 12

Any tips to get the voltaic stun sweeper to* 21 on magma 3? I'm having quite a time trying to achieve! Nothing dies fast enough before I'm very much overrun.
I havent tried that yet but I think I'll definitely want to pair it with a gun like the Autocannon.

I wish there were some better methods of parsing your activity in the game. Like level 1 damage, level 2 damage... I know some information is available, but I guess I'll have to pay closer attention. For example, if I use the flamethrower, do I have more successful runs than when I use the sludge cannon? There are so many permutations, and randomness it's hard to be certain of anything.
Hopefully this is something we get throughout EA. I love knowing what weapons work best for me.

You need to reroll pages some times lol, I mean you easily could have had that auto cannon done before the boss spawned if you had just rerolled the page @21:44, you picked the 15% damage which is nice but getting that auto cannon maxed on the next lvl up would have been even better imo. You have zero use for gold at that point so no harm in doing it

Dodge is all by chance. I’ve seen a lot of vids on the one class that gives move speed with dodges and it seems to only show the dodge marker on that class and it was all by random chance it happened when you take damage.
Dodge becomes really powerful when it occurs though! Complete damage negation only when it happens though

I found Pickup Radius to be pretty useless at first personally. But the amount of XP you get that would otherwise keep lying around is huge. I think it's underrated. And btw, do you never Salvage?

@@TomVsEverythingsalvage sacrifices your overclock slot for that lvl (6/12/18) for a generic upgrade (the few times I've done its been rare or higher) basically if neither overclock option is useful or they are outright detrimental you can salvage and just get another basic upgrade and weapon lvl increase

Tip: press V at least once every 20 second (that's the bare minimum)

I find most runs of this game a bit "meh" to watch due to the lack of interesting visual effects on most weapons, but I gotta say it was pretty fun to see this build go DAKADAKADAKADAKA and tear through entire swathes of enemies every other second

Engineer is the most busted class, you make them turrets move give them pierce/plasma/electric and you either take 150% fire rate or +3 charges and you automatically won the game
Best tips : Level your weaopns, then consider % upgrades, First runs WILL fail because you can't overclock them first time (Stupid design, imo)

I don't understand where the hell that autocannon is shooting.. Most of the time it's shooting only one direction. Very often it's just shooting off the map at nothing, but description is saying that it's shooting highest HP. I don't get it.
It's an incredibly strong weapon but I do agree that it's aim seems a bit inconsistent
I ended up here after I watched Asmon try out the game.
