Not satisfied with the XP pickup/ mining during the final 30 seconds? Or moving before timer after final boss? Maybe you will enjoy the first run in this VOD for a "real" no movement challenge: th-cam.com/users/livefQrqCYG3uwk?si=6NjZRR64sJig1LNU
A few ideas from me: - Electro drone does less damage, because it has a bigger area. - Getting a modification means you can't draw that one anymore. So even a "useless" mod can be what enables victory - for turrets, free firing arcs are paramount. As they cannot walk around obstacles. Digging would have been able to remove sight blocking walls, on top of sometimes getting resources.
@@PsychoMachadoPossibly. There is something to be said about forcing the bugs to die closer so that the XP can be vacuumed as well. But my experience with other games is that the earlier and farther we start hitting mobs the easier it is to survive, and he survived on pure luck a couple of times with level-ups at 5% HP. So on one hand the close XP did help, but on the other maybe he wouldn't have needed it if the bugs died further out. I have no absolute answer unless he tries again and does pick the wall mining.
@@CedricDur good point. But at the same time as he gets further and further the bigs get more resistant, so one or two extra levels make a difference (also the extra damage he got from the salvage was big)
@@PsychoMachado Yes, that's why I think it would take an actual run of testing it because it's subtle. Would the extra distance make it safer? Would the XP loss make him weaker and counter it? I can definitely see it both ways but it's something that actual testing (and even then there is RNG, like him getting the 50% fire rate legendary definitely was a big boost) would be needed.
Wall mining would have been bad. Having walls around makes the swarms cluster and easier to kill. Imagine having no walls by the end of the round and getting swarmed from 360 degrees all around
yeah there is value in mining out the walls at the immediate vicinity... make killing field for your turrets and drones lol... but oh well. Actually maybe not, since explody bugs take out walls near you any way, so maybe salvage is just best in the end.. yeah
yep, I got it once yesterday during the live stream. Especially nice for the final stage since there is no other way to pick up the xp before the challenge is over
imo pickup radius is probably most important during this challenge, lets you collect more xp during the level and makes it so you can pick up more xp on route to the pod.
you're right, this version of the game didn't show as much stats on status effects so they couldn't have really seen how effective each drone actually was. cryos do a lot, but they only ever hit once and don't do a DOT debuff. acid hits pretty hard and also does DOT damage too, but that's all it does. electric does decent damage and inflicts a powerful crit vulnerability debuff, so its fair that the initial hit isn't as powerful. but to be fair... the hi-volt thunderbird IS debatably the worst weapon in the entire game. pretty much the ONLY thing it does is inflict electricity, and there are plenty of ways to do that effectively while also doing great base damage to boot.
Why was breach cutter not a good option? I genuinly don´t play the game and occasionaly watch videos. However i do play the original DRG and i would´ve expected the breach cutter to be very pog. Unless it works completly differently here.
It's good if you get levels (and overclocks) on it but I wanted to focus my upgrades on the LMG turret already so I was looking for weapons that are good without levels in my other slots. Weapons that apply status effects are of that type
The best no movement is definitely the gunner that starts with mini gun. Get the warthog for your second weapon and stand in the corner of the map and face inwards
@@CommissarIbramGaunt this is a lie. you CAN move before the rocket leaves. I always run to the corner or to any convenient position. there is about 5-7 seconds to run. the fact that the streamer didn't run is his problem
@@rotikomhe's doing a self-imposed challenge. the "no movement" anomaly was recently added to the game officially and was inspired by this very video. the developers decided to give you a 5-second grace period at the beginning because the challenge would be COMPLETE bullshit otherwise. the original commenter said this before the official no movement anomaly challenge was ever a thing, and its funny because they were right about it being a great strat... but they technically broke the rules of the original self-imposed challenge too. they just came up with moving a bit before enemies appeared by themselves too.
No one told me :( I thought it is only wait until boss is dead, not until timer shows up. rip I even did an entire no movement stream today with moving before the timer and nobody said anything lol Will try it again sometime with waiting for timers.
You want to try to get in a spot where mobs cant come at you from 360 degrees. I try to find corners or at least the edge of map so they only have 180.PS the shotgun would of did you more good Drones only do damage once mobs are basically right on top of you.
Just a heads up: the full early access version of Backpack Battles released yesterday. Two new classes, lots of new items. Would love to see you put some new videos out for it.
13:45 ...single target (ice) vs aoe (chainlightning) .... do to go with the ice ones does not help much in beating big swarms 26:50 omg it is NOT! .. if ur ice drone does 100dmg but hits only one, and this drone does 25 dmg but jumps to 4 targets 25*4=100 then they do the _same_ damage, just that u actually kill stuff since the ice drone attacks so seldomly
I havent play this game. But the fact that you can actually beat the game without moving make me think the skill neddes to play is very low. Nice video though 👌
Being allowed to mine stuff while extracting seems wrong. You only are allowed to move because the game forces you to, otherwise the challenge doesnt work. Doing anything other than walking seems wrong. I'd even argue running around to pick up drops is wrong, too.
you're cheating a bit, you should run directly to ship when it lands or shortest route possible instead of looting xp around you and mining a bit to call this no movement challange
dex had a video where it showed him attempting it multiple times. im pretty sure he never completed it. he died as the same time as the final boss. lol its awesome watching you do it the first time while talking to chat the whole time,

I feel like a "REAL" no movement challenge means you just stand there and die at the first stage and don't go toward the drill lol.
Moving before timer starts on last boss! ooooo very cheeky, very cool and satisfying run though
A few ideas from me:
- Electro drone does less damage, because it has a bigger area.
- Getting a modification means you can't draw that one anymore. So even a "useless" mod can be what enables victory
- for turrets, free firing arcs are paramount. As they cannot walk around obstacles.
Digging would have been able to remove sight blocking walls, on top of sometimes getting resources.
Also the digging is important in the last 30 secs as its your best chance to get resources or relics while moving to the pod.
Do an only first option run!!!!
Loved your panic voice at 17:52, played it back twice 😉
Damn I was nervous about Dreadnought would come out early and you need to take both him and the third boss, but he died very quickly. Awesome run.
Hali! More XP gain+ more Pickup range=more level, more upgrade, more damage/peload SP, more options!
there was a moment when a +1 level pushed away a few explosive would it happen the run was over.
did no the move challenge with 0 mods on turrets lmaoooo dat was funny great vid
This was actually cool! 😄
Mining the terrain would also make an open area. As it is th turrets are shooting at the terrain and the mobs behind it are not being harmed.
This
But it would also make the bugs scatter more instead of funneling a bit.

You know it's good when they got that accent
28:20 you actually started walking before the 30 second timer shows up and lets you know you completed the stage.
The wall Mining overclock would have been pretty good though.
It wouldn’t of. Would have pushed the xp out too far to grab and wouldn’t have been concentrated
Wall mining would have been bad. Having walls around makes the swarms cluster and easier to kill. Imagine having no walls by the end of the round and getting swarmed from 360 degrees all around
It would have unlocked another overclock on 12, and sometimes walls block line of sight

the boomerang has an overclock to pick up the experiences wherever it goes, by the way
maybe it's a good alternative

what overclock on 23:21 change? Drones circles around the players anyway. doesn't explosion be better?
P.s. at the end you move before timer
The electric dmg isn’t trash, it spreads to multiple targets making it much better in total
Is you mad?

Like what are the actual odds of getting the SAME overclocks two times in a row??
That was a clutch drop on the 4th stage lol

you moved a split second before the timer started after the boss --> Fail
Rancho Relaxo type build
That clutch magnet drop though…

Nothing clutch about it.
