  • For the past 10 years we've strictly owned Toyota's. We decided it was time to start switching things up, and now we own a Chevy ZR2 Colorado, Ford Bronco, and a 2022 Nissan Frontier on top of our Toyota vehicles. In this video we give you our first impression of this truck and compare it to our Tacoma and ZR2. We are excited to get this rig build out and see how it performs off-road!

    Love it! Glad you guys are going to start offering aftermarket support for the Frontier. In regards to suspension upgrades - you guys should work with Alldogsoffroad to Titan swap the suspension. Will net 10 - 12 inches of wheel travel up front. Best IFS upgrade you can do on the Frontier platform without solid axle swapping it. Look forward to the build!!

      @@CBIOFFROADFAB I test drove a taco first; frontier is smoother n quieter, better on gas, bigger fuel tank, better seats and interior. Not to mention those killer LED headlights! And for the same options the frontier was a little less money. I use it for towing motorcycle trailers and camping. It’s been doing great. I desperately need a roof rack and roam cases though. HELP!

    I bought one with Sport roll bar (2, 1/2 inch thick)and it looks great ,not to mention it is safer. Light brown looks nice but I like mine better with olive green. Fuel economy: On the window sticker says, 19 to 21 but gentle driving with speed of 70 or less, no stop and go traffic, I have got up to 26 mpg.
    Nissan Frontier is the winner of 2022 in my book. Tacoma is got a homework to do especially on the SEAT/ FUEL ECONOMY/DESIGN.

    • @CBIOFFROADFAB

    Strange, never heard of your company and have lived in Moab UT with a Hummer, and for the past eight years just outside of Pocatello. Maybe if someday I am in the IF area, I might stop in and look at your parts. Always curious.
    Admittedly, at 75, not into serious off-roading anymore, but just needed a smaller truck for tent camping in the mountains and quick trips back to Moab to visit.
    As for some items. The high-mounted center stop lamp on my 2023 is LED, cargo lamp bulbs are still incandescent, maybe I'll get up there to change or not. Might have made the change to LED from 2022 to the 2023 model.
    As for steering, by now you have learned it is Hydraulic Assist on the Frontier and one of the main selling points for me. Being old, I like the feel of the road especially if traversing some nasty off road areas and I do plan on visiting Moab, just no more Moab Rim, Hells' Revenge, Metal Masher, Steelbender type trails. But I can envision a drive down and up Shafer trail and possibly out Potash Road to 279, or maybe even a quick drive down to the Green River off Spring Canyon switchback and back up.
    Electronic power assist steering is ok on a car, but never liked it on any of my full size GMCs or Silverados but had to live with it; whereas, I was actually excited the the Nissan put it into the new Frontier.
    As for the Duramax, great engine for the Colorado/Canyon (as is it's bigger brother in the full size Sierras and Silverados), but GM, in their infinite wisdom killed it off after the 2022 model year. If it has still been available, I might have jumped on it. However, since I won't be doing hard core off-roading, not sure that extra torque is needed.
    I know this thread is OLD...but hey, something to do....

    I found the vid where you lifted the front. have you done a vid yet of anything else you have done to it. the lift made a huge difference on the look. the stock look I would have never considered it at all it looks so much like a old man's truck you had said you were going to lift it, but I actually thought it would have been a waste of time, that said you did have to lift it 4 inches. it is great to see all the trucks you guys have so we see the comparisons. In the stock configuration I would tend to agree. The fact is all mid-sized trucks look that way when they are stock. Wait until you see the update to this video with all of the changes we are making to it... I think you will be pleasantly surprised!

    Bed is too small

    • @CBIOFFROADFAB
      @CBIOFFROADFAB  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It definitely is for many uses but its not smaller than the short-bed offerings on all other midsized trucks so it falls in line there. From an off-road perspective the short bed is very nice to keep overall vehicle length down unless you want to go with an extra cab model with a long bed, which will keep overall vehicle length the same.
