In this video we session almost all the Red runs and walk through some sections to really give you a look at what Bike Park Wales is all about!
Annoyingly A470 was closed but ACDC, Rim Dinger and Roots manoeuvres are all covered in this review. This will eventually be a 3 part mini series also breaking down the Blues and Black trails too.

This looks so much fun...I love how you review the different features, really helpful!
Moonbather appreciate the comment and pleased to help out 👍
Great info. Been a regular at BPW since it was £5 a pedal pass! Find all of the red easy apart from Root Manoeuvres (personally think it's close to a black) and Bonneyville. Love the little road gap on Vicious Valley, so many people don't try it though. Would love to have the talent and balls to ride them all properly!
It must have changed a bit since then😁, so many great sections there now👌
@@MtbTrailHub yeah just a bit! My favourites are Sixtapod and Vicious Valley. Two of the original trails. Prices have shot up a bit in that time, personally think it's too expensive. Plus there's no real bridge between blue and red or red and black. Doesn't really help with progression if you're not the best rider.
Gavin Diamond Yeah the prices are pushing the limits a bit but it is bloody good. They have the merger trails which are half blue/red and red/black which I thought were pretty good for progression....🤔
Great review mate love that you showed the jumps and stuff cheers for that 👍👍
Mark Byrne Thabks Mark, no troubles.....there are so many blind jumps in a few of these trails it can take a while to scope them out! Pleased it can help👍
Started watching you a few weeks ago and I saw your stickers at bike park wales today and I instantly went on my phone to subscribe!!
Tekkloop Hahaa Thanks for the support! Sticker on inside the bus?
Great video! I just started mountain biking this year so my colleagues thought it was a good idea to send me down Roots Manoeuvres for the second run, safe to say I kept to the blue trails for the remainder of the trip!
Ben Dorling 😂 Thanks, Nothing like being thrown in at the deep end!
Great a no ego bloke ! Really good review , booked up
and can’t wait until September 😁
Cheers Tim, I'll take that compliment.... thanks.
Have an awesome time!
Great trails, I cringed when you caught the back wheel on that rock drop :s well do making it down in tact :D
White Rose Adventures 😁 Got lucky with that one..... if that drop was bigger it would have been an OTB for sure😬
Cool vid bro. Can’t wait to hit this place again tomorrow 🤘🏽
Thanks Mark, enjoy!
Great riding Mate. A good look at the Reds.
Mark Collingwood Cheers Mark👍🏼 Thanks for tuning in
Have said it before but the video quality of your edits is really good. Level above most of the MTB you tubers. Also, unlike most of the guys who have done BPW videos, you stop and talk about some of the features. Ive been to BPW many times but still appreciated these bits.
I appreciate that, thanks Frank! Thats what i'm trying to do.....especially as there are so many mtb tubers around currently! Glad you noticed and find it helpful , Thanks for tuning in!
cool concept with imagination of difficult tracks
TheAirMarky Cheers Markey👍🏼 glad you liked it
It looks so rough but not too bad. Pity I only have a hardtail at the moment!
Defo still ridable on a hardtail! you might feel it in the morning but would still be fun!
Drop at 6:50 I bailed on this twice when first time at bpw trying this red run (on my hardtail) Really want to go back now to fix this.
Joseph Kisolo-Ssonko You’ve got this👍🏼. It’s looks pretty tricky from the run in but trust your skills😁🙌🏼
Yeah Surfin Bird can really mess with your head, the drops look massive but when you actually do them they are simple. It's the fact they are blind. You just have to trust it. It's the drop into Bonneyville at 7:54 that messed me up yesterday. Took me three attempts to hit it and then I was so fixated on the first drop that after I cleared it I missed the left-hander and went wide over the grass!
Another epic video 🤘
Joshua Cross Thanks Josh👍🏼
Great video man 🤙🤙🤙
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks
Nice video, yep the reds are enough for me 🤪👍
Robert Tate Cheers Robert👍🏼..... There’s enough there to keep you happy that’s for sure!
Been taking my ecotric 26” fat tire on some reds in my town and holy shit reds are insane
hahaa, yeah i bet thats pretty spicy on Roots manoeuvre !
Great vids mate 👍
Ricey83 Thanks👍🏼 glad you liked it🤙
I really need to go there
Marcin Terlecki it’s got to be done 👌
Hey man I'm local to bpw and usually do the reds and some of the technical blacks but the last gap jump on ACDC freaks me out l can't clear it same on watt's occurring as l hit the lip and crashed last time. Any tips? Loads of speed and pump the lip hard?
steffan johnson It’s quite intimidating because it’s fast and blind. I usually take multiple walks up the take off on blind jumps and mark out a take off point. With a bit of speed and pop it’s not to bad 👍🏼
Thanks pal.. You made it look super smooth and easy! Yes it is blind.. They like that sort of thing at bpw mind! Thanks for the reply and your vids. Super inspiring 👍🏻
steffan johnson Thanks, No troubles, glad to try and help out. 👍🏼 If you crashed on something similar it might also be worth building the confidence on some smaller blind drops/jumps first! Just a thought🤔. Have fun and good luck with the send🤙
Thanks for the advice. Yeah smaller sends and trying to clear them first sounds like a plan 👌 as far as technique goes.. Any vids that you recommend?
steffan johnson I haven’t watched any tbh but I’m sure GMBN will have something out there👍🏼 You can’t beat a bit of coaching but then it’s going to cost a few quid..... Get what you can from the TH-cam vids out there and then maybe look at some coaching if you’re still struggling 👍🏼
Jamie, we're hitting bpw next weekend for the 1st time any recommendations for a good warm up blue and then order for reds and blacks?
Hey Robert, Looks like i may be a bit late with this response.
Sixtapod,Terrys belly and Popty Ping are always good blues to get going with.
Be sure to check out the trail map regarding the trail difficulty. They have a good grading system which grades the trails from easiest to hardest.
@@MtbTrailHub yes mate, we managed to figure it out😜that place is amazing cheers bud
Is everything there avoidable if your riding with someone who doesn’t ride as much
Yeah I'd say so, It's only on the techier red trails like roots manoeuvres things can get a bit spicy. Stick to the easier reds and almost everything is rollable at the right speed.
Have a blast, Thanks for tuning in!
Keep shredding bud 🤘
Alisdair England yeee boiiiiiii! 🤙
You guys thing remedy 8 ,160 front 150 rear ,head degree 65.6 is good enough for bpw ?
Yeah for sure 👌
Are you using gimbal for go pro on chest? If yes what kind? Thank you, great informative video 😉
TajnyTaktyk No problem, glad you liked it 👍 yes I use the evo ss gimbal with the go pro 4 for the pov footage 👍. I’ve heard the feiutech are pretty good too and a bit cheaper
Crikey that must of took some time putting this video together. Thanks.
Sixty Seconds of Stephens 😂 ..... a good 8hrs +riding/filming for each vid! Just wait for ‘Black trails’ I personally think it’s better 🙌🏼. Thanks👍🏼
@@MtbTrailHub looking forward to it. I find the first time down the runs the dodgiest. Like AC DC I was expecting a drop were the logs are positioned not a gap jump. Your black runs video will be handy.
Sixty Seconds of Stephens yeah I agree..... A lot of blind senders there.... they can be pretty quirky too. Black video out this Sunday 7 pm👍🏼
Try bonnyville in the wet!
Game changer !😁
Does one require a full suss for this, or can I use my hardtail?
Full suss would be prefered but a hardtail would be ok. The blue trails are more hardtail friendly.
It’s funny because I hit Ac dc on a hardtail
adam pilgrim good man👍🏼
How long is the climb if I choose to ride up ?
Marcin Terlecki Not sure tbh as I’ve only ever used the uplift. I’d estimate about 45mins - 1 hr
@@MtbTrailHub ok then uplift cost £45 for whole day right ? How many trails or how many time you use it a day ? I'm trying to figure out how much it works out per ride
Marcin Terlecki yeah that’s right, if you don’t hang around you can get 11/12 runs in. If you go for a mellow day out then you will easily get 5 or 6. It is possible to pay per lift but it works out cheaper and less waiting around to just buy a day pass if you are planning to be there the whole day.
@@MtbTrailHub do I pay for entrance ?
Great vid pal, what gimbal and camera are u using?
Karl Barber Cheers Karl, I use the GP4 with evo ss gimbal and a GP7 for the 3rd person shots 👍🏼
@@MtbTrailHub nice one cheers for the info
would a hard tail be fine for the blues
Henry Productions 2121 yeah no troubles 👍
Good trail information coming through in the video. You need to refrain from walking back up the trails and stopping in the middle of them though. This video will be seen by a large number of people that will consider it as acceptable behaviour. This is not the case and is dangerous for you and other riders descending the trails.
Yeah i agree with you but i think people will do it regardless if they've seen it on a video or not. What you don't see and maybe i should mention it in some of my vids is I'm always keeping my bike and gear well out the way and very vigilant of other riders coming through.
What bikes can you hire there?
S C Λ R Ξ D it’s all on the bpw website but pretty sure there hire all treks
@@MtbTrailHub oh okay cheers. It's just they are selling a range of ex hire bikes like Santa Cruz so I was just wondering if they are just showing a few.
But cheers anyway and great vid!
S C Λ R Ξ D thanks for tuning in, I think it’s just the Treks on offer. If you’re looking to demo a Santa Cruz then check moredirt.com and look for nearby demo days 👍
@@MtbTrailHub ah okay thank you!
I hate rim dinger , I think it’s a pointless trail tbh , what’s the point of it ?
Paul Cartwright Abuse your wheels and maybe pick up a flat ? 😂. It’s fun For some I suppose because it’s so rough but not a fan either tbh
Mtb Trail Hub no defo not it’s a waste of a good space , the y should smooth it out like a Terry’s belly , it would still be good
Paul Cartwright Not gonna haapen mate 😂
Great section. Fast and rocky. 😀 not all trails should be smooth 😂
Daniel Price Yeah true I guess 😭👍🏽👍🏽
