- Bike Park Wales has some gnarly Black/expert trails! BPW is known for it's massive trail network and endless miles of flow trails!
In this video we session a handful of the Black runs and walk through some sections to really give you a look at what Bike Park Wales is all about!
We take a ride through the re vamped Enter the dragon as well as the longest tech trail, 50 shades of black. This part of a 3 part mini series that also breaks down the Blues and the Red trails too.

Having just started mtb'ing and went to Wales yesterday, I have huge respect for what you guys are doing. I'm comfortable on blues but they drops are the ones that shit me up, need to get some practice in and get my manuals a lot better. Great work!
Thanks Alex, They do love a blind drop at Bike Park Wales....even if they are small they can still be intimidating when you don't know the trail. Check out a few 'drops' tutorials ..... once you have the technique down then you can carry it to any size drop, that coupled with the right speed and you can drop anything! (within reason)

You do the best trail centre review videos, love the way you look at some of the more interesting/challenging features and also facilities etc. Have been missing these over the past year or so. Hope you start again when we finally start travelling again.

Love to be able to send jumps like that, I had a big OTB after landing a jump, the front wheel folded after landing and sent me like superman down the trail. Now even small jumps or drops cause me to stiffen up an ride around. 😩
kerry powell wow that sounds nasty! It sounds like you could do with building the confidence back up. Maybe find a section of jumps that are fairly mellow and keep riding them and add a bit more speed each run (if comfortable) . The only way to get comfortable in the air is to keep practicing.......🤷🏼♂️

Love all the different angles you get in the videos, these are the kind of MTB vidoes that will do well. People get bored of just POV constantly. However this is a bit more fresh. Sick riding. My drop limit is about 3ft and every time I hit a table just now I'm still grabbing the brakes. "Not today" is my over used phrase!

Lee Prendergast Thanks, yeah I do my best to give an insight into what it’s like. I think all the red jump trails and black runs need a pre run otherwise you almost end up in hospital whilst coming up short on a road gap 😂

I've just got back in to riding after four years off following a riding accident. My best ever riding experience was racing in the Welsh champs starting on the enter the dragon jump line with loads of people cheering us on. I did a lot of races but that was the best track and most fun race weekend ever.
The glory years!!! It must have changed a fair bit since then! ha, can't imagine it being much of a race track nowadays.
Great riding, blues n reds enough mind you only been once and just put my 2nd vid on 2 hours ago of first time at BPW. Nice edit too

Excellent and fair play for riding the black trails blind. I don't think personally I'm missing out by not riding them. Much prefer the flowy red and blue trails that open up to all abilities. Good video and pat on the back for enter the dragon.

Used your review of 50 Shades as a blueprint for my run this week. Worked a treat, and gave me a heads up about the cheeky monster step down in the second section. I didn't have quite enough skill for that and your vid stopped me blindly going for it. (Go Pro effect on other vids initially made me think it was smaller than it actually was) Spot on - thanks! BTW I don;t think many people bother with the little blacks over by Bluebelle - but next visit check out the new drop into Half Cut.... :-o !! Cheers bud....

Absolutely! I thought i was going to be ejected down the landing twice that day! somehow the bike soaked it up and saved me from a couple of broken collar bones!!!

Did 50 shades after 2 years of riding, basically 2 week long finalie trips and 1 week in Alps and a couple of races. Walked the big drop ! Road gap just before was okay though. This stuff is fun, though I'm still working up to doing big jumps.

I’m soooooo shit at jumps but I like enter the dragon cos u can just roll the HUGE jumps and then just go flat out the rest of the way .......🤣🤟🏾👍🏽 ( that’s what I do anyway) probably get laughed at but who cares
You could be practicing your jumps over on popty ping or A470 ? Probably not the best idea rolling jumps that people might be sending big 🤷🏼♂️👍🏼

What is the reign like. I have a giant Hybrid roam and it is very solid and really goes. The geometry doesn’t suit me that well though. I noticed that it seemed smoother when you went faster
vince King It’s an animal tbh..... great bike and very capable of almost any trail. Hard to floor it in anyway, It is quite a big bike to pedal around trail centres but destroys the decents! 👌

Thinking of heading to Bike Park Wales for a couple of days and was wondering if you think it's worth paying for the uplift service?
100% I did it a few weeks ago, caught the first and last uplifts and only stopped 15mins in-between, just kept catching uplifts with no queue even on busy day. Exhausting but so much fun

Telf yeah 100% if you arrive in good time with no too many breaks you can get 10-12 runs in👍🏼

The trails at Revs are harder I think but there’s a few sections on BPW blacks which will test you for sure!! Get on ok at Snowdon?

slow pedal in, once you're over the first double do not touch your brakes!

Steve Murphy I don’t think it does actually..... there is a section below the cafe which looks like a skills section but you need to pedal back to the top each time.
Ye they call that a pump track. I guess if you are good enough at pumping you can get back to the top with the speed you have

Same as the red trail video. Good trail information coming through in the video. You need to refrain from walking back up the trails and stopping in the middle of them though. This video will be seen by a large number of people that will consider it as acceptable behaviour. This is not the case and is dangerous for you and other riders descending the trails.

Going off the info on the map..... 50 shades is the longest gnar trail. Bear in mind it carries on past the jumps shown in the video.
There is a couple more pro lines but I’ve not ridden them tbh.
I get the feeling there isn’t a huge amount of technical trail beyond what’s in this vid.
If you want harder features then get a ticket to rampage mate 😂. Or go to Revolution 👍
