Enchanter Charm Strategy - Mana Efficient Single Kill - Everquest Project 1999

- In today's video, I show you a simple strategy for quickly taking down a single target that also saves mana. This strategy comes in handy when you have 1 enemy left on your rotation and no appropriate level mobs to charm against them.
*The guild masters are level 60... not 50 like I mistakenly say in video.
Great breakdown of how mezzing, aggro, memblur, charm all work. I fast tracked to lvl 60 ENC on Oakwynd and I still didn't really understand how to make use of Calm and Memblur spells so this helped a lot.
It's amazing that I can watch videos like this after 20+ years of playing classic eq / project 1999 and still learn clever uses of mechanics I never thought about. Enjoy your content always.
Great video! I played an Enchanter from launch till after Planes of Power. I remember charming Spiders in the plane of Nightmare, soloing where no one else dared. Great memories. Best game I ever played.
These videos are great. I've played eq on and off since launch, but have always focused melees or hybrid. I don't have time to find groups often so I'm trying to find a way to solo during the playtime I have, and chanter has been intimidating but definitely fun. These guides have been tremendously helpful

Enchanters really come into their own around 35+. Charms start to stick longer. You get a wider variety of tools. The whole thing becomes much better lol.

yes, the low mana cost and the fact I can manage a bit better. if i have a 3+ min mez, i might be sitting waiting longer than I want or similar situations.
I used to love doing charm kiting with enchanters also. But there were a couple of things I didn't understand well... like I never knew which stat out of CHA and INT affected the charm spell's stability more than the other? How or what should you do with gear focus to make and keep the charm to not break easy and be more stable? (I get that it will never be perfect...but there must be some way to work it a bit.)
all charisma. int only increases mana total
The mob's Magic Resist affects how much charm will break way more than your CHA does though. At least on Oakwynd/Live, not sure if different on P99.

click and hold on an inventory slot and it will be a button you can put on the hotbar
This is called reverse charming. Common strategy for bards, however 3-4 mobs are used at a time and a bit of kiting is involved. 😀
that's true. I did a later video on the method for enchanters. Check out the howling stones videos and you'll see how we do it with 4-5 mobs ourselves. No kiting necessary for enchanters.

How safe is chanter soloing leveling up? I'm in between necro or enchanter. Just seems like in the long run enchanters pass necros up by a lot on what they can do and solo..
enchanter is far more powerful than necros in the long run for sure. You'll be able to do quite a lot with an enchanter. It does take some practice though.
Necros are definitely safer. they are powerful soloers in their own right, but with Feign Death, you'll save your butt more times than you can count lol.
I died A LOT with my enchanter as I learned the ropes. now, I'm playing a second enchanter on the Green server and I've barely died. I'm able to take on camps that full groups my level a few levels higher than me struggle with though.
If you want a serious money making machine with some serious fun, I suggest enchanter.
I will be starting a necro here after I max out this new encahnter though. I haven't played with them much and want to see their power.

I've been working on an efreeti one right now. I can do arch magi one too for SMR. he's pretty easy compared to others too

Once pet gets low health what are your steps to break the pet spell?
your best bet instant cast invisibility spells. The goblin gazhougi ring is what most people use and is most effective. You could also cast invisibility on yourself, but that takes 4-5 seconsd to cast and you'll often mistime it. You could also play as a dark elf and you have the hide skill. If hide doesn't work though, it won't break the mez and isn't 100% reliable. The goblin gazhougi ring is ideal.

How are you a troll and an enchanter?
enchnaters get illusion spells and can turn into any race plus more. troll illusion gives a boost to HP regen. So i use it when health is low.
