Just fixed a frying pan full of kale that I had in the freezer. Needed to use it up. cooked in olive oil and minced garlic, a few dried chili flakes and finely diced onion. Added butter at the end and stirred in. Plated and sprinkled with basalmic vinegar! WOW! It's going into the garden tomorrow! I will be growing kale from now on.

Very cool recipe! However I would suggest you toast the sesame seeds on the pan before you add the oil to get a nice toast on them. Then you take them out and add the oil and garlic and then the kale and only add in the sesame seeds in the end. This way not only do you get nice and toasted sesame seeds but you also dont lose the nice crunch the sesame seeds have to offer!

I haven't thought of adding sesame seeds. I'm sure it is a nice touch. Rather than cooking it in a pan, I like to go with a pot, add 1/2 cup water (obsorbed into the kale), covered, then add red wine vinegar.

Thanks for the cooking tips, found because I am just growing several types of vegetables in my garden, and needed to see how to best prepare and cook the masses of kale plants that germinated so well and have grown in abundance. Now just got to do the same for all the cabbage, cauli's and sprouts that are also romping away. Seems most people here are more interested in how much you resemble someone - I've never heard of! Cheers from the UK.
UPDATE. 24 hrs later, cut me some kale, got your ingredients, followed your recipe and the result? A great meal done with cheese-filled baked potato which my wife really enjoyed. Thanks.

You get a like just for waving the kale around :) I've been craving some greens for a while now. Seems like the best way to make them; sautéed in olive oil with minced garlic. I had thrown some cayenne pepper in with mine, but not much a fan of spicy or sesame seeds. Definitely love me some garlic though. Was looking for more ways to make this a bit more palate-able.

Hi! I just saw this. You can either cook it a little longer, or rub the leaves down with salt to wilt them a little before cooking. Also, remove the stems before cooking because they are very tough.

`I was at the store and bought Kale to mix it to my Raw dog-food. Thought it was good. Before I dumped it in, I made a quick search on it, just like everything I put, to make sure its good for the dog. Its not, so I came searching for recipes on what to make with it... and you gave it to the dog. It can cause health issues such as kidney and bladder stones in dogs. I still want my message to be one of gratitude for the recipe... :)

Are we twins from different mothers, or what? I was thinking, "Needs sesame oil," just before you picked it up. This looks delish, and I have fresh kale in the fridge as I type.
I was addicted to kale as a child. I blame my mother. I just did a pizza today, ground beef smothered with kale and onions, with Mozzarella and Parmesan on top. 'Twas killer!
I can see this easily evolving into a stir fry with slivered chicken. Experimenting will ensue.
I'm attaching my kale soup recipe for grins. :-)

Honest to god if you take your washed kale, dry it off and toss it in a tiny bit of oil, a generous pinch of salt and a generous pinch of sugar and then bake it for half an hour to 45 mins or so (flipping halfway through) then it tastes the same as the crispy seaweed you can get at Chinese restaurants! It's such a hack, I make it all the time when we're having Chinese food and it's so cheap and easy to grow in the garden

Have you ever tried kale chips? They're like the most popular way to eat kale and everyone seems to like them now. They're really good for a crunchy salt craving snack. They're so delicious I love them and I snack on them all the time when I get back from school! It's my favorite way to cook kale but I definitely love it sauteed. Sauteeing is my second favorite way to have kale!

I love prepping kale like this. If you're ever in a vegan mood, try it with some browned tempeh and hot sauce in a tortilla; it's delicious.
