Thats a good system but what Ive started doing is a little hack: i browse my favorite websites/newsletters/blogs, i choose an article that would lend itself to be a video, i rewrite the article to be a script (add a hook, intro, curiosity gaps, etc.) and IM GOOD TO GO! Last 5 or so videos on my channel were created like this. There's lots of tools already like scriptwiz that do the conversion automatically but I prefer the manual approach.
I'm a professional TH-cam script writer and I can confirm this is exactly the "winning format" on this platform. It's actually pretty interesting to see it laid out this bare, but this is exactly how I write every script as well, whether it's a "top X list" or a commentary for a gaming channel. Always hyper-focus on your hook and intro. Hook around 5 seconds and needs to either be a promise for content in the video or a sneak peak of actual content (a highlight clip without the conclusion). Intro is then setting up the stage once a viewer is hooked. Give them expectations and tease something extra "somewhere" in the video that tehy can "watch out for." Get right into the content after this, don't pad it, and make sure your bonus is somewhere near the end 3/4 of the video. As he said, never ask for subscribes early in the content, it breaks the flow and you haven't provided value. Early viewers are also high risk viewers. Ones that make it to the end are MUCH more likely to take action. Linking a video at the end is essential for creating long watch sessions on TH-cam, even if it's not your own content you're linking to. TH-cam will identify that YOUR content STARTS long watch sessions and will be more likely to push your content out to more people. For context. I make between 300-1000 dollars per script I write for channels that have a few hundred thousand, up to several million subscribers. Many of my scripted videos get hundreds of thousands of views. This is proven to work, to take this video's advice to heart and good luck!
@@TK-pv4uq Depends on complexity of topic and the type of client. Generally I have a flat rate of $400 minimum for anything up to a 10 min video. 10 min = around 1800 words, 3 hours per 1000 words and 3 hours research, 1 hour contracting and admin. 40/45 per hour is my rate. If it's a good client or they are really specific about giving me research beforehand, I charge around 250 for a 5 min video. Have a flat rate you charge minimum, then an additional rate per project length. Estimate the amount of research time you would need and bill per hour as a flat cost. I never script and research a video for under 200 dollars. Only exception is shortform like TikToks or Shorts and that's ONLY when provided with the topic and general research. I charge $50 per short (180 words max)
stalls to keep me on to the end are just stalls to keep me on and I usually click out the minute a stall shows up. Sincerity and REAL information is what keeps me on your video.
The way you describe the "hook" has got to be the clearest description ever! So many other creators overcomplicate what the hook means I find it overwhelming. Thank you 😄 Also just used this to draft my first TH-cam script!!

Hey Justin, this is the BEST video I've ever come across on scripting a TH-cam video! Thanks, and I love that you stress that it's all about the viewer and giving them as much value as you can. This formula now has a permanent place in my workspace.
I am just getting my channel started and this is so incredibly valuable! Thank you, I will be sure to watch and rewatch this video probably weekly until the end of 2024. Blessings to you
I'm nearing 20K subs and have been wanting move away from my current content and get into more in-depth content that requires script writing, but have been putting it off for weeks because I literally had no idea where to even start. I actually started dreading it bc it seemed like such a daunting task I've literally been watching this on repeat as I'm writing my script right now, you have NO idea how much of a weight has been lifted off my shoulders bc of this information! Oh my GOSH thank you!
Yo! I have actually used this method on another channel and the video got 8k views over time and it’s still growing. It’s nice to see that this is an actual method cause I winged it and did it like this because it felt right. Thanks man. I couldn’t figure out why the video was so successful but it’s this method that was used that made it speak to the viewer. I’m on the right track.
Thoroughly impressed with this breakdown and will definitely be using this information in the near future. Thank you for the time and effort to put this together. Cheers! 🍻
