- Hunted private land w/ Lucas & Sage. Some real challenging birds & some not so challenging showcased the difference hunting pressure makes. Even with extreme wind, we still managed our limits & had a ton of fun. Our dogs were, once again, the stars of the show.
For some reason, it is a lot more comfortable watching the rockets with feathers from my couch. Those were some target rich environments. Great hunt!

What did you do with the hen that the dog caught?
Left it as a decoy for predators, so the hens Ace DIDN'T catch can live. I'd have considered keeping it, but I had a relatively long drive home that day, & I wasn't willing to take the chance of ruining the last weekend of my season on the off chance I ran into a law officer who didn't care HOW that hen ended up in my truck.
That is no country for soft men. Nice retrieve on that first runner.
