- TESTING DCC ON MY OLD DC LAYOUT! Running Reading T-1 By Broadway Limited
Borrowed a DCC Starter Kit from my Father-In-Law to see how it could work on my layout. My current 4x8 layout is DC using Atlas selectors. I rewired a portion of it to control it with DCC using the starter kit. This is not a tutorial. I am a novice and just beginning to learn how to use DCC after 40+ years of using block control wiring.

You definitely need a DCC layout in the future
I'm glad you were able to get the DCC controller working. You should try that controller with your other DCC sound engines
That is the plan. I may go buy an additional controller so two people can operate. I can control multiple trains with the one controller but it would be tricky because my layout is small.

I love using DCC myself! I only have one sound loco since they are so expensive. I have the same controller but it only powers one track as I have quite a few regular DC locos. Good luck with your new system I think you’re going to enjoy it!
I am a big fan
Me and my dad have the NCE power cab system and it is the best that we have found compared to some of the other DCC systems for running our DCC locomotives. So I recommend NCE

You should look into getting your Bachmann and Hornby Thomas engines converted to DCC, it’s possible and would be neat.
I highly recommend turning the smoke off at the hard switch under the cab. The smoke units on the T1’s have a nasty habit of going nuclear and melting the smoke box.

I would like to see a video on other Lionel's or Hornby's model of the Hogwarts Express from Harry Potter.
How does this engine handle those 18' radius curves? I'm planning on getting Reading T1 2102 for my layout and all my curves are 18', just need verification that it runs good on 18'
I have PCM and BLI Reading T1’s, both are 99.9% the same items, they handle 18” curves no problem. I wouldn’t full bore high speed on them but they do work.
