Breakdown Crane is always a favorite in Thomas ranges, rail cranes are so cool

I think the reason stack is not attached on the breakdown train was to make it removable for fitting under bridges and tunnels. Very cool though

The breakdown crane made by Hornby is a really rare piece of Thomas model in history. It’s even more rare then the Hornby Murdoch. I wish bachmann made a breakdown carne but it would probably be really hard to make if bachmann did it.

Annie and Clarabel defintiely look different than later releases. Notice how the orange color is thinner around the doors.
The support legs go in the holes on the side of the crane. they retract in when the crane is being moved. The smokestack is removable so it can fit under bridges and tunnels.
Unlike the Tyco and Bachmann cranes, this Hornby one does not need a tool to raise and lower it, as the right side has integrated knobs.

I got a new Thomas which produces a burning smell what does that mean if he runs fine but smells like burning rubber or lube? Is it safe to run him?

I'd get your Thomas checked out, even though it runs fine I think you should find out why it smells.
