I just can’t get enough of Sarah. I remember having my DVR full years ago when she aired in the US. I had to move and lost my treasure of shows which I’d watch over and over. Saddest day EVER!
Jo confession: I’ve still got my vcr tapes of all of Sarah’s episodes and I refuse to give them up. When we have tv outages, I whip out my tapes, and they’re still good!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I am so happy to hear Sarah talking about working with workrooms that are local. I was working in the design world and always priviledge the good people that are close. If something happens (it always does) we can fix it right away. AND we keep jobs in our communities.
This has to be one of the best episodes I’ve ever watched. And I’ve seen them all. It’s a nice behind the scenes. And 15 mins webisode are just perfect.
I loved the loyalty and long term relationships you revealed here. This speaks volumes about who you are as a designer and business woman. I know you will come up with a perfect solution for the chaise's! Can't wait to see what it is!
Everything is so beautiful. I can't believe I've been watching for 20 yrs because it seems like just yesterday. I wish I could come and spend the day with you and Tommy. You are truly inspiring.
Wonderful video, especially giving some lime light to those that are behind the scenes of all the furniture & fabric makers. Bravo to them for their amazing work!! Thank you for sharing all your trade secrets with us. Wish they were near me!! ✂️🔨📐📝 If you can dream it, they can make it!! 🏠🚤🌊💜
Everything is looking amazing!! You do know that having a client like you makes all the people at the shops you use want to do what they can for you!! : )) I have worked in an upholstery shop before and you are the dream client. You're kind and thoughtful and you will own up to a mistake and not blame the crew. You get what you give and you give nothing but love and professionalism to all you do and so that is what you get!! Thanks for being you!!
I really appreciate your relationships with the suppliers and craftspeople. You are kind and respectful and lovely all around. My 10 year old daughter and I are thoroughly enjoying each episode ❤️
OMG!! Years ago in my twenties, the very first design show that I fell in love with was Room Service. You had that adorable bob haircut, which as a curly haired girl I remember being so envious!! 🤣 You were the first and really only person on TV at that time doing quality DIY projects that weren’t cheesy painted grapes or faux finishes. It’s amazing how your designs have really stood the test of time. I am so enjoying your TH-cam channel!!!!
Amanda I'm truly grateful for your long time support! Thank you so much for following along my design adventures! It means a lot to me. I hope you stick around and watch my Design Life series here on TH-cam. I've got a lot of great new content coming so please don't forget to subscribe!
Oh my Sarah.... beautiful fabrics and furniture! What a dream Cottage it shall be! Can’t wait to see it come together... probably not as MUCH as YOU! But excited!
I absolutely LOVE~LOVE~LOVE you Sarah.......and Tommy too! I get so inspired every time I watch your videos. In my opinion Sarah you are the “Monet” of decorating and design! PLEASE come back to HGTV America ❤️ Patty sending you and your family blessings from Colorado 🙏❤️🙏
Yep - I'll have your chaises! Put one each in your girls' rooms and order bigger ones - in your heart of hearts you know that's what you want to do LOL !! I love watching this whole process Sarah - PLEASE keep making videos for us to enjoy. Cheers, DEBBIE T (NZ)
Spray painting furniture really does wonders doesn’t it? Such great colors for “used” furniture. I love that the man had your autographed pictures and proudly displays them. Can’t wait for the grand reveal.
Loved the long term work and friendship aspect of your process, so you take delivery of the chaise lounges as is and in the meantime have the larger chair version made. Someone else wins big time with two chaises you designed (and sell) and you get exactly what you originally envisioned in the beginning when the new ones are ready....it's a win/win!
"We've worked together for 20 years" and that gold pleated lampshade has witnessed every hour of that 20 years.... lmao. Joking aside, painting old furniture is the easiest and most effective way of breathing new life into an old piece. I love me some paint. It doesn't matter if it's for an old piece of furniture or for my old face. There is nothing better than a little spackle, paint and shellac!
I think if the chaise doesn't work in this situation, you can find another home for them relatively easily. White washable fabric goes with everything. You can make beefier chaise longues in addition to these, but they'll also eat up more space in the room. I personally would prefer a cozier chaise, it is an ideal reading chair.
Love seeing the whole process; please keep showing/taking us along it makes me HAPPY!😊 All of the pieces look amazing💕 Oh & why not just have them make the larger chaises whenever humanly possible & leave them off this delivery? Just wondering why the hard deadline for your personal cottage? Maybe a photo shoot?
Could you tell me Sarah, do you think you get the same effect if you paint rather than spray old furniture? I love DIY but don't think regular people can do the spray thing. Your comments? I LOVE you and your shows!! Thanks for sharing them!
This is what my wife and i like about you and your team, your so real about the highs and lows, the mistakes and victories that come with designing. Having a great relationship with your suppliers and vendors is key, if you treat them with courtesy and respect, they will come through for you, and both of you are better off for it. We found out about you and your shows a few months back when WBBM- Chicago started a life time channel called DABL, and we faithfully watch Design Inc., Sarah 101, and Room Service every evening. Thanks for being so real!
Sarah, you are your most difficult client always! However, you can resell something that is not quite right since you tend to work in similar styles and colors.
When it's not our world, we have no idea how the business side of things runs - so many balls in the air and so many moving parts to coordinate, and multiple jobs all at once. Production is a whole other skill set besides working with clients, managing the team and choosing pretty colours. Is that what made you so sassy?
Aww sorry about the scale of the chaise. I hope that it works out for you and the family in the end. As in aspiring interior decorator/designer would you mind sharing your concerns?
Sarah, start a new trend ... Sarah Petites .. The Petite Chaise Lounge. There are a lot of Petite women. I need a Tall Chaise Lounge ... my legs are 36" long. :)
Rozann, I had a sectional made with Carolinachair.com a few years ago and it was maybe $3500-$4k, I know it wasn’t more. I provided my own material. The quality is great, cushions very substantial and I still love it. I assume they would ship to Canada but not sure. Check them out.
This is one of my favorite episodes seeing the people who make everything happen and your relationship with them over the years.
I just can’t get enough of Sarah. I remember having my DVR full years ago when she aired in the US. I had to move and lost my treasure of shows which I’d watch over and over. Saddest day EVER!
Luckily you can catch me on TH-cam now! :)

I love having such an amazing design community close by!

Thank you so much for the lovely feedback, Thomas! :)
My fav video so far Sarah. It’s lovely to see all the talented people that make what you dream come true.
Thanks for your feedback!! It's great to know what you're most interested in seeing.
I loved the loyalty and long term relationships you revealed here. This speaks volumes about who you are as a designer and business woman. I know you will come up with a perfect solution for the chaise's! Can't wait to see what it is!
I wouldn't be able to bring my designs to life without my awesome partners!
True that! Y'all make a great team!
Everything is so beautiful. I can't believe I've been watching for 20 yrs because it seems like just yesterday. I wish I could come and spend the day with you and Tommy. You are truly inspiring.
Thank you so much, Michele!
Michele Grigsby I know just how u feel. I feel the same!

I love how you're going to send one of your team to photograph pieces of marble, not only a benefit for your supplier but also for you.
I really appreciate your relationships with the suppliers and craftspeople. You are kind and respectful and lovely all around.
My 10 year old daughter and I are thoroughly enjoying each episode ❤️
So glad that you both are enjoying these! :)
I love this channel. Used to watch Sarah years ago when she did a TV show. She’s awesome!
Thanks Jackie!

You are so blessed Sarah to have such amazing craftsman to be able to work with day in and day out 🙏❤️🙏

I loved Room Service!
Indeed...
Room Service is still one of my favorite shows. I wish we could still see it.
Really loving this TH-cam series Sarah!

There are so many more videos coming, don't worry!

It certainly does - I can't wait to share the grand finale!
beautiful... gratitude... thank you!!!
Those chaise lounge chairs are so pretty. Make them work - or send them my way. 😉
That furniture looks absolutely stunning!
The furniture is lovely.

Always looking for a way to make it work!
As always a fantastic job! Your house is going to look superb!
Everything lokes Fantastic can't wayt for the final results .💞💞
Glad your finally showing your trades ppl. You never show them on your tv show. It’s show hard to find good crafts ppl
I hope they work! They're so pretty!
Bessie’s creations have been amazing since Room Service!😍
ReidandShane It was so good to see Bessie again.
I really enjoyed this segment, fun to see all the work sources!
My trades and partners are really awesome, aren't they?!

Love u BESSIE. !!!
Does Bessie make house calls!!!! What a good idea to use scrap slaps for end tables!!!!!
I miss you on HGTV..glad to have found you here!!

We would like to be able to enjoy the cottage for the summer! Stay tuned to see what I do about the chaise situation!
She's amazing. I miss seeing her and Tommy on tv.

Thanks so much William!
If you start a furniture company, Sarah, I’ll buy it all!
The annoying thing is, you can take forever to convince yourself of something, but your gut instinct is usually right.
Sarah, you are your most difficult client always! However, you can resell something that is not quite right since you tend to work in similar styles and colors.
More !!! ♥♥♥♡♡♡♡♥♥♥★★★★☆☆☆
More is on the way! :)
Busy, Busy, Busy! 🐝🐝🐝
You can say that again!
The chaises were huge....were they supposed to be even bigger?
I need Bessie!

I would love to have some of my stuff repainted but don’t know how to find that type of painter.
Aww sorry about the scale of the chaise. I hope that it works out for you and the family in the end. As in aspiring interior decorator/designer would you mind sharing your concerns?
❤
Does anyone have a link to episode 12?
Better late than never? th-cam.com/video/3_rZYCzX7v0/w-d-xo.html
Chaise for girls room?
Sarah, start a new trend ... Sarah Petites .. The Petite Chaise Lounge. There are a lot of Petite women. I need a Tall Chaise Lounge ... my legs are 36" long. :)
Do all custom made sofas have to be $7,000.? Hardwood, latex, eight-way hand tied coil springs....😳
Rozann, they’re not that expensive, lol
I live in Vancouver, that is what I was quoted. Do you know something I don’t? 😊
Rozann, I had a sectional made with Carolinachair.com a few years ago and it was maybe $3500-$4k, I know it wasn’t more. I provided my own material. The quality is great, cushions very substantial and I still love it. I assume they would ship to Canada but not sure. Check them out.
You are really sweet, Sarah.
You seem a little crabby today, Sarah:)
She's the worst designer in Canada! No one compares Jillian Harris !!!
