    Where u at man?! We have building and drifting to do!! Did u happen yo get new drift art cc or ex?

  • @JordanDeBuck
    @JordanDeBuck 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Soo i still have wobble in the steering crank and it seems like the play is in the bearing maybe. Is the mono just for steering angle or what else is the upgrade for?

    • @BMR3
      @BMR3  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@JordanDeBuck mono shock is mostly for front wheel clearance on narrow front ends with low off set rims. It also helps/exaggerates body roll.
      As for the steering crank, just shim it up as much as possible. Some wobble is normal.

    • @JordanDeBuck
      @JordanDeBuck 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@BMR3 okay thanks shim it at the nut or the lower side?

    • @BMR3
      @BMR3  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@JordanDeBuck shouldn’t make a difference but I would alternate putting one on each side of the steering crank until you remove all the wobble. That should keep the crank centered & not affect the steering geometry.
      If that doesn’t help then the issue could be the play between the steering crank bearing & the shaft it sits on. You can shim that too using some super thin clear tape and slowly add layers to the post the bearing sits on.
      Hope this helps man, good luck with your build!

    • @JordanDeBuck
      @JordanDeBuck 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@BMR3 hmm i did try some if the teffalon on there i wonder if the tape would be better thanks! I have no idea how you have a solution for everything:p

    • @BMR3
      @BMR3  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@JordanDeBuck haha a lot of the solutions are universal across the different platforms, the biggest making sure to reduce/eliminate wobble and sticking points, after that alignment is critical. Once you have those sorted out your build should just need fine tuning.
      But to be honest, wobble in the steering crank won’t kill the build. It’s less than ideal, but at the same time you can still slide the shit out pf the chassis. If your getting gyro chatter/wheel shakes then you know you need to shim more. But if it’s sliding smooth, don’t worry about it. Just have fun.

    • @BMR3

      I adjust mine with spring tension. Use the softest springs you can, and then steadily increase the preload until the chassis lifts to the desired height.

    Just started building mine today and they shorted me one 2.5mm ball head for the steering crank with the LE conversion kit.The ball heads for the drz v2 are a different thread type and can't be used for the upgrade. $200 bucks and they can't throw in extra screws!!! Super disappointed.

    • @BMR3
      @BMR3  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      ugh that's the worst. Atomic has pretty horrendous QC in my experience & its common to be missing screws or even whole parts. I just picked up their SAS read end for the Mini-z & it was missing a lower arm! I understanding missing a screw here or there but we are talking about a critical component Their QC is sleeping or non existent
      The one good thing I will say about this is they have Great customer support. Send them an email for FB message & they will send replacements directly to you free of charge.

But I figured I just ask I'm looking for a micro to drift around in my garage both my drift cars are awd I'm would like to start moving into rwd. I'm looking for something that parts won't be hard to come by or take 2 months to ship from china. What would you recommend. I like cheap but am done buying the cheapest thing I find and end up spending the same amount building it up to something good. Just one reliable car lol. What ever happened to the brass chassis? Did you prefer carbon fiber over it?

    • @BMR3
      @BMR3  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I still have it, it’s my premiere chassis. I wanted to build another using the carbon plate to see if there are REALLY any difference with the grip since the carbon can theoretically flex. Personally I think the only difference will be down to weight but who knows, that’s why I’m testing.

    Just saying what's up buddy don't know if you remember me or not you sold me some cars a while back I'm still around little bit sicker than I was last year when I bought the cars I sold just about everything because I wasn't able to use anything but my wife has encouraged me the pick up the RC hobby again cuz right now I can't even really leave the house because of my low immune system. She bought me a fifth scale losi truck for my birthday this past April it's been a blast but I missed the little guys too

    • @BMR3
      @BMR3  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Matt! Yes of course I remember you, I'm glad you left a comment as I was just thinking about you the other day, but couldn't find our email conversation to reach out. Aside form the heath issues, how have you been? I hope you have been keeping your head up brother despite the issues, positive mind state will go along way to help keeping you healthy.
      You got a 5th scale?! Those things are ridiculous, I've only ever seen them in store but never actually seen one out in the wild. I bet its crazy fast & fun to bash since it so heavy it will just keep going. You should make some videos & post them up on your channel. Editing videos can be a lot of fun, especially if you plan the whole thing out & shoot the video in segments. Its like making your own movie. I just subscribed to our channel incase you do it ;)
      Yeah I hear you, the micros are hard to avoid since they are sooo convenient to drive inside the house lol. Did you ever get MA-020? Personally I prefer them over the RWD MR-03 since you can drift in a small area, but they can also be sued for touring if you change the tires to grippy ones.

    • @mzondi1970
      @mzondi1970 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BMR3 the 5th scale is so new I haven't even broke it in yet. I'm actually waiting on a kill switch for the motor that seems to be the number one option most guys do because they get out of range of the radio pretty quick I don't want to run away $1,200 toy. Now I haven't made any videos. I actually sold the minis last year due to a needed some more medicine that was very expensive. Right now I'm in remission for the cancer but have a couple other things it's acting up but the cancer caused little bit of liver and kidney issue I've been in the hospital quite a bit for both of them I just got out of a nine day stent in August and another eight day one in July. I've already ordered a rear wheel drive only because it has the McLaren Senna body on it I may buy another all-wheel drive next month I still have a lot of the parts you sold me but a guy on the Facebook buy and sell page for many of these but the two chassis I bought from you. Still kicking along always staying positive like I told you before they'll never take me down without a fight lol that's the damn hard-headed Aries in me

    • @mzondi1970
      @mzondi1970 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was thinking about maybe getting a different chassis this time what do you recommend that pretty much is easy as a mini z I was looking at the atomic, xrx or whatever it's called pretty much all the ones out there I just don't know what to buy from lack of experience. The one I really like but it's made for racers is that react 28 chassis.

    • @BMR3
      @BMR3  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hell yeah brother, stay hard-headed & positive! Nothing can keep you down.
      Regarding a new chassis, what are you planning on doing with it? Drifting or touring? If you want the best of both world you might want to look into the SZ2 by Atomic, its 4WD so you can drift or race & it will have more steering angle then a mini-z. I don't have any experience with them but have heard great things.
      Do you have experience building RC cars? That will effect further recommendations.

    • @mzondi1970
      @mzondi1970 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BMR3 actually the main thing I was going to do is just mess around because there is no mini z-track that I know of that's remotely close to me I'm right outside St Louis. So it would be nice to be able to do both drifting run it on a track if I ever come across or build one. I built some RC cars but it's been many many years have never built one this small I used to build 110 race buggies but the last one I built was probably in mid to late 90s and it was a team associated
