Honestly out of the 3, they are all ultimately really good cars. I reckon when all 3 are setup properly, they are as good as each other, as their max steering angle is almost identical. I wouldn't personally compare how each car handles towards each other as I've learnt over time that pretty much with variable setups and different bodies, you can actually make all the cars handle the exact same(I actually managed to setup my modded DRZ V1 to handle the same as my GLD). What's more important is what sort of setup ability each offers for the price, how smooth the steering is, and the maximum steering lock they can achieve. The most important is how much time you put into setting up the car. I've seen people had issues drifting the GLD or the DRZ, but at the same time also see some guys pulling insane slides from both camps. I got a friend who has an XRX but had a horrible tune on it that I had trouble drifting it, but from the steering mechanism and the build quality I knew it's definitely a really good option. Objectively I think price wise the XRX and DRZ V2 are the better budget options, but really can't go wrong with any of these cars if you put some time into them. I personally don't have issues with setting the ride height just by using the springs, as usually I feel with this scale, preloading the suspension actually doesn't really help handling. Hopefully in the 2nd batch onwards the GLD would have less QA issues, as it seems like you and Beaver had trouble with the ball links as well as some people on Facebook. For the GLD I had no issues with the chassis except the gears(which I got a free replacement for) and sadly a faulty servo(also replaced).
Agree with everything you said. Have to remember xrx has been perfected as has been around longer. Other 2 are the first batch. I tried to be fair....as all were comparable. Set up takes a lot of time to perfect.
Very thorough comparison. Thank you very much. I think you can't go wrong with any of these, it's just the personal preference which driving style you prefer. By the way have you got any problem with the XRX's diff? I've heard the drive cups are quite fragile and ball diff wear out rather quickly.
Thanks Mr B. Rear diff was locked. Unless I've got a faulty one. Lol. I haven't opened the gearbox yet. I've done most mileage in the xrx and so far ok. I am going to run on RCP which usually brings out faults a lot quicker. I've been stuck for time and really could have down a 3 hour video and taken it apart.
@@GarageMiniRCUK From the manual it looks like ball diff so you might be able to tinker with it. Can't wait for RCP test. It's a great way to wear the car down quickly.
@@GarageMiniRCUK Indeed. It just occurred to me on 2nd viewing that your XRX didn't comes with the A11CLS servo but the wheels don't shake. DRZ V2 has practically the same servo but it's spazzing out. That's interesting. I thought the gyro shake comes form the standard metal gear servo and would happen to any car with the similar one. Atomic gyro itself is really good so I don't think it'd come from that.
The next batch of xrx will come with the new generation of gyro. I think the suspension may have been jamming up and causing the gyro to misbehave on the drzv2 by sending vibration . It's an odd one as the car drifted pretty well on the short circuit.only other thing was the other cars had wide rear wheels.
XRX seems real nice very interested in it after the slow mo stuff. given how easy it is to put together i think i may swap my recommendation for people wanting a drift chassis

On the drz2, it seems you have your gyro to high, that will cause wheel wobble. I’m sure you know that now lol. I run a fully built gld, and a drz2 le, comparing the 2, my DRZ2LE slides much better then my gld, out of the box. The gld really would benefit with steering stoppers, I tune off the stopper max lock angle. I think they fixed the binding issues on the drz2 with the longer DRZ2LE front upper and lower arms, and the right spacers I’ve had no issues out of the box, I can see it’s still close but doesn’t hit. Anyway good video!
Hi, I fixed my drzv2 by using spacers on the bulkhead. Just haven't got round to making a video. The gyro was faulty, I replaced with a v3 gyro. No issues now. Although diff is not great.
