      Me too...but I do find the " Chocolate Bar" double Cyclops intrusive. The single Cyclops on the Samurai range looks a lot better and doesn't intrude on the design by dominating the dial.

      Still don’t like it lol, with that being said, I didnt go the light it up and scrape it off way. Dome crystal swap eased my eyes, just keep the crystal till my eyes require the service from the cyclop candy bar.

    My SRPE05 has a Japanese movement, says it on the dial and caseback. Accuracy is +2sec on the wrist and comes back to 0 overnight in position. Bought it cheap at Macy's on cyber Monday. The green rubber strap is amazingly comfortable you don't know its there. One heck of an everyday wearer!

      It’s because it’s sold in the USA as per law . On my SRP773 bought in USA , the dial indicates MOVT JAPAN and on the case back MOVEMENT JAPAN . The Canadian version doesn’t have that on dial and I am uncertain what it states on the case back.

      All Seikos are a in house Japanese movement. With the King turtle is a 4R36.

    I’m fine with the hardlex and aluminum bezel, it’s not as if I’m actually diving with this. The ceramic bezel doesn’t really add anything but make the watch shinier.
    I did go for the king over the regular turtle just because they were the same price. But now I’m kind of regretting it as I really hate the textured dial.

      Couldn’t agree more about the crystal and bezel insert. Can’t understand what the fetish is with ceramic and sapphire is. It can’t be that great if every Chinese garbage watch company uses them.

    Great review of an amazing watch! I just received the exact watch today! This is my first Seiko Automatic and my first Turtle. I think the waffle/grenade dial design and green colour combination is stunning!
    I love the candybar cyclops, it adds an upscale look to the watch. Although I purchased an international model SRPE05K1 that does not say Made in Japan on the dial, my watch has Arabic/English Day Date wheel! I think that adds a little extra uniqueness to my watch. Plus I paid an insane deal for it brand new.
    I also bought an Army/Olive/White Nato strap and a Strapcode Super J Louis Jubilee bracelet, can't wait for them to come in! It will give my watch a variety of wear options to dress it up or have cool summer look to it! Cheers on your channel.

      @quality_times  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thank you for your kind words!
      I think this watch is a very good choice as a first Seiko Automatic. In fact, It was also my first Seiko Diver!
      Indeed, the international version doesn’t say „made in japan“ on the dial but that’s why you can find some very good deals online.I heard that the quality control issues are worse on the K-models, so give your watch a proper look 👀.
      If you get your straps make sure to snap some cool pics of it and feel free to tag me on Instagram, so I can check them out :)

      @@quality_times You're welcome my friend!
      I literally watched every video on TH-cam about the New King Turtle watches etc! I needed to know and see how the watched looked/specs/on wrist/different straps/issues.
      Your video review is superbly done! I can understand other peoples issues with the watch, not liking the cyclops, same 4R36 movement.
      I chose the King Turtle for the new Green Waffle colourway and because of the upgrades of Ceramic Bezel and Sapphire Crystal. Although the regular Turtles are super nice too, I couldn't justify spending money on a Hardlex Crystal.
      This is also my first real Diver watch and it's a Seiko too King Turtle lol! I took a close look at my watch dial and everything, chapter ring, bezel markings all line up perfectly! Rotation of the bezel is tight and feels good.
      I feel pretty lucky for that. For sure I can take some pics when my straps come in, the watch is begging for strap/wardrobe options! :D
      I wanted the JDM version but didn't want to pay the premium for that model, it's like $600+ US when you find one for sale. I'm super happy/impressed with this watch, the quality you get for value is insane.
      I find the Waffle dial design is what makes the watch for me, over the other options. The Blue Save The Oceans dial is pretty awesome too. I have too many Black Colour dial watches, but it is another great King Turtle too.
      Keep up the great work and cheers!

I am wearing the Dark manta Turtle 460$ for it with what I saved off the msrp bought a premium aftermarket jubilee bracelet. My watch is running about +2 a day... whether on or in my display case. I know these can vary but if get one like this one running at COSC make 500$ well worth what you pay. More importantly the feeling you get when enjoy what's on your wrist is immeasurable.

    Enjoyed your review. I got mine in August and was on honeymoon stage for about a month. 1 negative is power reserve. After 2 days of laying idle it's dead. • @quality_times
      @quality_times  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

  • @bronco1199
    @bronco1199 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I feel like 400 euros would have been the correct price. Mind you these Microbrands with similar or better specs are made in China and not at all in-house. For the history and brand recognition it is justifiable that Seiko charges more for roughly the same specs. A 6r movement would be perfect. 6r for 500 euros makes sense....the 4r is more than adequate though.

    I don't think Seiko is better than Hamilton/Mido/Tissot/etc. Interesting to see if this move upmarket will work for them. People may want to pretend that "in-house" adds value, but I really don't think it does in the case of Seiko.

    • @cy4624

      Its about whether the watch speaks to you. Hamilton/tissot maybe better specs on paper but those I have owned gathers dust while seikos get much more wrist time even over likes of my rlx,Tudors. Breitling, etc..
      Seikos are iconic designs, very few tissots/Hamilton have any collectibility which is why you don't see many videos of them and are highly discounted on grey markets due to lack of interest.
