Very, very nice. I love the Turtle and I love these, too. Considering retail to retail, Turtle to King Turtle I think you get the value out of the upgrades. That said, people sure do love to complain. The Turtle gets an upgrade to sapphire/ceramic and "it's too expensive now" or "you can do those mods yourself". Prices come down on things like this or there's always grey market/second hand, and modding a standard Turtle potentially compromises water resistance. Seiko has given us a Turtle with those nice upgrades that everybody claims to want, for not much more than the standard Turtle's retail, and it's ISO certified still. That's pretty damn cool. I guess it's hard for some to appreciate on the heels of the lastest Islanders (and I get that! Those new Turtle styled Islanders are great!). Keep on keepin' on, Marc!
@@BurntPlaydoh No argument from me on that. I was more pointing out how some folks complain about one aspect of a watch and how it needs this or that, but once their wishes are granted it's not enough.
@@BurntPlaydoh Around $300 is the price difference on LiW for some of the standard Turtle models vs the King Turtles with the rubber strap, yeah. Actually the SRP777 is $372 on LiW and the rubber strapped Kings are $595, so $223 actually. Though again, considering retail to retail (assuming the price listed for the King Turtles on LiW is close to Seiko's retail. I don't see them on SeikoUSA's website), it's not that big of a jump (IMO). The price listed for the SRP777 on SeikoUSA is $495. The PADI Turtle is $550. Not a big jump IMO. And as I mentioned, prices will eventually come down, or there's grey market and second hand pieces to consider. At the end of the day these are numbers on a piece of paper and value is pretty subjective, and what you actually end up paying could be very different from these prices, to be sure. I'll grant I wouldn't pay $300/$223 premium for the add-ons, and maybe not even $150, but I'm also not likely to anyways because I'll likely have options open to me later on for saving significant money over these prices. At the end of the day, people will pay what they think is a fair price for something they want, or purchase from the outlet of their choosing, so it doesn't really matter in the big picture.
