I found that even this one (neverest RV-B 4 Inch Inline Fan 176 CFM) from Amazon is just barely enough to keep the smoke at bay. The garage still gets a hint of scorched wood. The previous exhaust blower I tried was "rated" at 195cfm, but didn't come close to keeping a negative pressure in my enclosure.

I watched, and I like. Thanks John... getting one of these for my studio. I already have the external blower to hook up instead of the PC fan included!

How are you fitting a 3in diameter hose to a 5in diameter window seal vent?

What table did you use to host the laser engraver and enclosure? Trying to look for a big enough but not too big of a table for it.

What size of exhaust tub is that 3inch or 4inch thank you for your time

John, looks like it would be very useful for an engraver that was in a house and had a vent access point. I'm confused, did the added fan make a enough difference to purchase? Didn't see any link for the auxiliary fan

      Hello David,
Yeah, the enclosure it really nice! It is really hard to tell if the added fan made a difference. The PC fan caused air to be pushed back into the enclosure. This caused turbulence inside the enclosure. I really couldn't tell how much smoke was escaping. I having the other blower is better because it doesn't cause this. However, the best I can tell the PC fan still works. Hope that answers your question. Also the links are now in the video, I was still adding them.

The enclosure does not keep the smoke smell out very well/I am running it using the small enclosure fan and 4in inline fan, still smells of smoke in the house

Typical that all companies start selling laser enclosures after I spent a weekend building my own 😂 I use a similar fan set up as you fitted to take the smoke etc out and it works much better. Great content as always buddy

I DIY when I have more time on my hands than $$ I can throw at a project. My "enclosure" is made from cardboard box pieces and packing tape to hold it together (I'll make a better one eventually). Not worried about it since I *never* leave the laser unattended when running a job.

Seems like a good option. I am concerned about eye safety with these types of normally "open" lasers. Based on your video review it sounds like you still wouldn't trust looking at the laser unless you have the goggles on. With my Glowforge, I am able to look at the laser cutting just fine without any worry but that is also a 5K+ machine. I wonder if there is a good option for a "safe" viewing enclosure? That is something I would be interested in.

I should have been more clear in my video why I still suggest safety glasses. The viewing window is a flexible plastic material, with no certified markings. Nor, does it say anything on their website. Without knowing, I am not going to put myself at risk. With that being said, I don’t know if any manufacturer actually has that certification stamp on their viewing window.

at 1:12-1:15. Is the wooden board something that you made to set the honeycomb cutting board on and the xTool unit on. If it is something that you made I would pay you to make one up for me as well. I really like the X/Y axis lines that you put on the board as well as the feet cups.
