    Comparing this QX80 test to the others is w/out merit. The Escal. and Navi. were pulling a nice, aerodynamic trailer, not this contraption with a wind-grabbing Bronco on it. That made all the difference in the world or, at least, the tests aren't equal. He also mentioned that he could "feel there's something back there" ... same reason, because of all the wind resistance!

    This QX is like our limited edition. Underneath it's built heavy duty. The suspension is much heavier than my F 150. And it's got tons of power.

  • @tkobvious
    @tkobvious 9 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Why oh why, when doing a head to head (to head), wouldn't you use the same exact trailer? The drag co-efficient is significantly different on this compared with the slippery horse trailer. At 60+ mph, aerodynamics are hugely important. I've read how much drag is created by air traveling over and under a vehicle. In this case, you have drag over and under the pilot vehicle, the trailer, and the vehicle on the trailer.

    The QX80 is NOT based on the Armada platform, It's based on the Nissan Patrol which is built in Japan and is not available in the US and is a more refined platform than the Titan/Armada platform. Another thing is that the the Nissan Patrol is designed for good amount of offroading which might be the reason for the first gear ratio and makes it beat any other competitor off road.

    You say it's not good for towing big trailers, but I bet that if it wouldn't be in the mountains it would tow this trailer no problem. You gotta specify that, otherwise you just end up with a conclusion that's too extreme.

    Hey Roman, I think that's a great idea to update the Bronco. Give it a minor restoration and make sure everything mechanically runs flawlessly. Ever watch the show Wheeler Dealers on Velocity? They're based out of England and they restore cars like that back to showroom condition while on a budget. I think something like that would be perfect for the Bronco. Also, I enjoyed the Infiniti video.

  • @Soh90
    @Soh90 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The QX is a great towing truck. In fact, all the trucks they test here from Toyota Tacos to F-150s are great trucks. 8 minutes at an average of 55mph up the gauntlet is phenomenal. Every road isn't as taxing as the gauntlet. Most roads are either flat or have very moderate grades. These fools are so quick to call something "not a great towing truck". You test something under one condition and then judge it? Are you high?

    Great video... but... maybe.. the air resistance make it slower? The other trailer is "aerodynamic" and this… well… has the front of the bronco to break air... maybe it´s nothing… just a thought… and to the bronco restoration... what about the lincon? That´s an awesome car and the family history is great! I think that that car is a classic… big classic car… and Nathan, don’t get frustrated about the bad comments, some people don’t know how to express their thought thru the keyboard and that make the comment sound aggressive… and maybe it wasn´t the case… on some they are just a**holes. Navigator 7;30 3.6mpg
      Yukon 7;41 4.1mpg
      Infinity 8;11 3.9mpg
      The Yukon would've been closer but ran into slower traffic. The elevation plays in the Lincolns favor with twin turbos. I think these two are dam close as far as performance goes. I would give the overall look and interior to the GMC.

    • @jaytrock3217
      @jaytrock3217 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      How are those resales numbers of the Navigators doing? The big number is MPG and close to the same speed. I always laugh at Ford bragging about fuel mileage but never make close to what they say in real word.

    • @gmrtg1414
      @gmrtg1414 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Jay Trock the resale value is crappy compared to the Yukon. I've owned two f150 EB's and both have matched the window stickers fuel numbers as long as you drive with a light foot. The twins do drink fuel when towing no question about it but the .5 difference isn't as much as I would've thought. They did the same test with a Silverado and f150 and the ecoboost was faster in that test as well. The biggest problem is the 8 speed is always up and down shifting.

    This was published on Feb. 11, 2015. And the only review on this Luxury SUV is the Ike Gauntlet? I might be wrong here, but it seems as though your channel is getting a little tunnel-vision (pun intended). There is a lot about this luxury SUV that I care a lot more about than just how much, and how fast it is at carrying a heavy weight over the continental-divide. The same thing with the Lexus LX 570. I would think that most people who would actually buy either of these SUV's, doesn't give a crap about your Ike-Gauntlet. So, if you really want your channel to be nothing but towing tests, than just keep doing what you are doing. Good luck.

    The Bronco and trailer is substituted for the horse trailer with the water tote, but even with equal weight between the two different trailers the horse trailer is going to create a lot of wind drag then the bronco sitting on top of the trailer, so the Navigator and the Yukon have a harder pull then this Infiniti.
