    You have the most comprehensive fender flare video in my opinion. Nice work my friend.

    EXCELLENT video!! I recently had a body shop screw up a simple 3rd Gen Tacoma fender flare replacement 3 times due to poor quality work. 4th time I will do it myself after watching your video so thanks for that!!!

    Those coloured pins go into the flare and then push onto the fender.

    Easiest way to get that 3M tape off, eraser wheel. I’ll be taking mine off, sanding them down smooth, then spraying them with bed liner and reusing them. More durable and a nice pop to the vehicle as well.

    Excellent video! Thank you also for the links to the cips and flaretape.

    If you live in the rust belt you should spray fluid film in the holes 🕳️ of the fender while you have the flair off. Or something similar like wd40 for a water displacement. Give it plenty it won’t hurt a thing.

    I was thinking about putting the orange & blue clips on the flare first and pushing the whole thing on

    • @whatwouldjessedo
      @whatwouldjessedo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Gregory, some of the clips require a twisting motion to be installed on the fender, and they require more force to be inserted into the fender than to be clipped into the flare. I would insert them in the fender first, but I think you have a good experiment to try; it might work just fine. Post your results, please!

    Next time.take off the wheel liner, and you will have no broken clips or broken pieces on the fender flare

    On the one flare you removed in the video, one of the tabs on the front of the flare broke off. Were you able to remove the other 3 flares without breaking a tab? I’m gonna remove and reinstall the oem flares

      @whatwouldjessedo  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You just need to be careful to not break that tab when removing it. You might want to try to put that flare tab out of the fender hole rather than pulling on the flare at that point. It's pretty fragile actually. I wasn't being careful to preserve the flare since I was replacing it.

      I bought the new flare from the Toyota dealership here in Honolulu. You can find them used on Ebay though.

    Is replacing the clips necessary if none of the old ones are broken?

    • @whatwouldjessedo
      @whatwouldjessedo  ปีที่แล้ว

      If the clips are in good condition then they can be definitely be reused.

    how did you order the flares from the dealership ?? i’ve asked my local dealership twice and they told me they can’t order fender flares

    • @whatwouldjessedo
      @whatwouldjessedo  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The laziness and bad customer service of some Toyota dealerships is amazing sometimes. You can order them online from plenty of dealerships if your local dealer sucks. SparksParts has been a good source in my experience: www.sparksparts.com/oem-parts/toyota-fender-flare-right-front-7587104060

    Got to do this on 21 trd pro. Some jerk hit me. 😞 how much was the oem flare?

    • @whatwouldjessedo
      @whatwouldjessedo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I paid about $220 for it from the dealer here in Hawaii. You can get them for around $160 from some mainland online dealers like Sparks Parts, but the shipping to Hawaii was going to make the cost the same as buying it here. Also, check Ebay for good used one.

      @@rossdegreve5527 No, Toyota doesn’t offer them painted, but you can find used painted ones on Ebay.

    Can you put 2005 clips on a 2019 tacoma ??

    • @whatwouldjessedo
      @whatwouldjessedo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The clips I used are listed as being replacements for 2005+ Tacomas, so I would assume that you can.

    So your saying , there is no way to remove the flair without all new fasteners

    • @whatwouldjessedo
      @whatwouldjessedo  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, I don’t think I ever said that. If your fasteners are in good shape, you can reuse them.
