Thanks for a great video. I’m a dealer for these bikes near Denver Colorado. We just got three of them and we’re very excited. We’ve been testing out over in Moab and it’s pretty amazing.
I’m happy you enjoyed it! Moab would be a great place to ride the Kove. We just had three dealers get Koves here in the Phoenix area. The brand is really taking off!
It will be very interesting when it finally comes to Australia as it looks like the perfect bike to cross the Simpson Desert on straight out of the box.
As with most things in Australia the asking price will be far greater than what the bike is actually worth. I'm tipping the kove will have plenty of longevity issues.
Thanks for the video, very well done and congratulations for the images, very beautiful. The impressions of a "normal" pilot are useful for "normal" pilots. The 450 Rally should arrive in Italy soon and I can't wait to try it to see if the accelerator response has been improved with the EU specifications.
Thank you! I'm glad the impressions were useful for you. Hope the throttle response is good on the EU version. I will be talking about that more in my mods video.
Well done. I am a former racer who got back into riding. I am really into multiday technical jeep roads, etc. Seems l8ke the perfect upgrade from my klx300ds. More power, more fuel, more suspension, a few more $...
Loads of people should remember, this is the first addition to this rally bike, launch model, value for money, nothing beats this. Cost to miles, this will give you fat more miles per holding causticity than any stock road/really bike. KTM and BMW have some of their engines built and manufactured in China for years.
Thank you for your feedback! I’m glad you liked it. I did the VO in post which made it a lot easier 😅 I will try live trail audio in the future when I’m feeling more confident. It’s not the easiest thing in the world when you are just starting out.
Well done, very informative! Seems like you and I share the same thoughts when it comes to a jerky throttle response, I absolutely hate it too. You should try a stock Euro5 690/701, that's the worst throttle response I've tried. Heard it's completely solvable with ECU upgrades. And by the way, OMG the trails you have available 😍😍😍
Thank you! I really appreciate the support my friend! Yep on the throttle response! We think so much alike, you must be my brother from another mother! It's going to be the main topic of upcoming mods video, how things go with smoothing it out. Not sure how it compares to Portugal where you've ridden some amazing stuff, but I love riding the desert here. You always got a place to stay and a bike to ride if you ever make it to AZ!
What are you on about! I just sold my t7 that had a jerky throttle response and bought a23 690. The throttle response is smooth and predictable. Major improvement over the t7.
@@BraapTales that never stops mate lol, but think about the fact i had never even edited a video before jan 2023 and you see its more than possible, although yt has been being a tw%t of late lol. its decided it just doesnt like me 🙂, im hoping after april things will get back to mre like what they were, bloody Dakar lol
Thank you! I will try to get the mileage / mpg on one of my next rides, but some recent mods (that I haven’t tested yet) may give different results than with the stock bike. More details in my upcoming mods video .
Please update us if this thing lasts 10,000+ miles. I'm interested but am holding out until I see if it's actually reliable because I've only got room for a single bike so it would be ridden to work mon-fri and then spend weekends being flogged off road by a former pro-am MX, enduro, and supermoto racer with a heavy wrist
The engine is a dohc version of the Zongshen NC450. I have experience with the sohc version that's in the fantic caballero here in europe. These engines are very reliable. Not the most powerful, but because of that it does not need as much maintenance as other 450's. All in all, great engine.
Bought it online from USA Motortoys / Kove USA in Utah. Depending on your State of residence and shipping options it will be somewhere around $8999 to $9400 + local tax.
For myself, I see 3 huge disadvantages. First, it is a Chinese bike and company, which raises doubts about reliability, knowing how Chinese cars behave. The second disadvantage is the technical support of the motorcycle and the duration of the possibility to find spare parts for it. Well and the third disadvantage, which comes out of the first two, is the lack of any non-original modifications on it....
I'm going to answer these in the 1000 mile review, but a quick word on these points: 1. Many people with much more experience than me have said the Kove does not feel like a Chinese bike and is one of, if not the highest quality bike ever to come from China. 2. There are 4 Kove dealers within 2 hours of me, and at least in the US, KoveUSA has a full online parts catalog / webshop. 3. Aftermarket parts are increasing all the time. There are probably as many aftermarket parts for the Kove 450 now as there are for my Kawasaki KLX 300.
Good God man will you hit the Dam throttle next time 😂 . Their is no fuckn way i can drive that slow. You know when your on your way to work and just wish the person infront of you would speed up? Thats the feeling i have watching this. Literally makes want to go fast 😅
"Race ready right out of the box." Your words. "The bike has fueling issues, jerky throttle, and needs vent tube modification." Your words. You already had a DR650, you should have put Cogent suspension, rejet, and a cheap LexxMX pipe on it and it would wax the Kove with legendary reliability and the largest aftermarket of any motorcycle ever made. I did all the juicy upgrades for under $4k on a $2k 2006 DR and it still shreds all day everyday. I even put a Simi rally tower on it with an Active Tab 3 for navigation. The Kove at $9k plus the ecu fix and other fixes puts you at the price of a CRF450RL which Honda fixed the ECU. IMHO, there are better choices from countries that aren't trying to destroy yours. If your going Chinese, looks like the Ibex450 will be a far greater value with a proven engine. Your money and your bike, so enjoy. Keep us posted on how the fairing holds up.
We’ll have to agree to disagree. But yep the bike is not perfect, none of my previous bikes have been perfect either. Overall I love the Kove after 500 miles. We’ll see how I feel after 1000. Thanks for watching and follow along for more of my ownership experience.
Ibex weights at 190kg mate, never been to Dakar. In fact cfmoto has never produced any 21inch front wheel bike b4 this one. The sole reason they made the ibex 450 was they saw the success kove 450 and wanted to grab a piece of pie really.
@NormTheCoder That was funny, thanks for the Sunday morning laugh. What success has Kove achieved? Is 49th place after all the hype success? How many have been conned into buying one. There are more pre-ordered MT/Ibex 450's than Kove will sell in 5 yrs. That's success.

I hope you all get it soon. Seems tailor made for the deserts of Australia and the strong tradition of dual sport riding you guys have out there!

Clear and concise! Good job my man! 🤙
Thank you brother! Thanks for sharing loads of great info and impressions of the Kove! Really appreciated.

Great video mate really enjoyed it . Where did you buy your taller screen from . ?
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. I bought it online from Uncle Wang's shop. KoveUSA is now selling them as well.
Hello mate , thanks for replying to my previous message. One more question, did the new taller screen make a big difference??.👍🏻

Heard from another Kove rider that he is getting about 50mpg with a mix of on and off road riding and he was not going easy on the bike.
