Post bop modern jazz; 4. free form modern jazz; 5. traditional popular music; 6.Japanese music; 7. some music from other countries, into a continuous musical improvisatory framework that clearly delineates her love of instruments and music from all over the world. She is such a virtuoso on the piano that she doesn't have to learn to play 20 different musical instruments to convey something of their character. I wonder what she would do with pre-Baroque classical European music, or with Tibetan music, or with the music of the Indian tribes of the Andes.
Hiromi is mastering the music of the future. She enjoys every little detail. Cristal clear and energetic is her playing. No pain, no sorrows, no sadness, .... but plenty of confidence. Hiromi, that is your way ! Thank you very much for these sparkling moments. Life is beautiful !!!

Somehow I started w the magical anime Joe Hisaishi, then the Kazumi Tateishi trio jazzed it up, then the Japanese music took a turn to the the impossible Hiromi. Certainly she is not a human. Noone can possibly do that. Good grief. I keep looking up her videos. It's amazing how a select few musicians just play without apparant plan or thought, it just shoots out of them like lightning bolts. One in a million. Or maybe one in a billion. Criminy

I must also say I have become a bigger fan of Simon Phillips by listening to this awesome trio. He is a fantastic drummer - one of the best I have heard actually. Anthony Jackson was one of my favorite bassplayers already :-)

She made me fall in love with the music genre I hated the most, Jazz. Nevertheless, I was right, Jazz requires exceptional players, otherwise it's like a clock without hands.
I like jazz, but in that presentation I liked all instruments unless the synthesizer you used that looks like old fashinn square wave set. I don't care for instrument trend mark. My guidance is the sound itself. I'm pianist too and I like more classics. In this presentation congratulations for you Hiromi, the drums player, the bass etc. Congratulations!
