It is wrong to say that K Balachander brought down Ilayaraja, Ilayaraja no doubt an musical genius made things difficult for himself through his demeanor and haughty behavior...The man was simply unapproachable even in his best of moods and everyone put up with his behavior for his music and when credible alternative opened up everyone moved away from him. Arrogance would never last in the Tamil filmdom however talented one is....Balachander was forced into the hands of ARR by Ilayaraja himself and so was Rajinilkanth etc...And who is the end loser now?....Somehow to connect Balachander's community with that of Ilayaraja is not an fair observation...Both of them are Tamil icons it is an pity that they had an fallout and it should be seen as such only!
