Lets all be honest, one of the great Grand Final Referee performances from Adam Gee. Let the game flow beautifully & only blew 5 penalties. He let the players decide the outcome not his whistle.
Especially considering Richie and Crawley set him up with that article which actually had false stats, cause they only used the last 3 years which Penrith have 3 peated and broncos haven’t made the finals before this season
It was fair both ways. Penalties were only given when anything excessive happened. Anything 50/50 was let go, I loved how the game flowed.
All the NRL has to do is allow the same rules to apply to club games. Bit of a joke really.

Nathan Cleary in that back end of the game was just on another planet. 24-8 up the Broncos and then Clearly stood up. Awesome game of Footy though from both sides but man clearly what a player. Personally I couldn’t believe what I was watching.
It could also be said that Ezra Mam had the Churchill medal in the bag with his performance, but that was surpassed by what Cleary did afterwards. I appreciate some of the honesty shown by the Penrith coach and players who acknowledged how hard the game was for them to win and what players gave them grief.

I’m 54 and have supported and heard/watched many a game ( in the 80’s in Sydney there was only 1 game televised, the others would be heard on radio ). I‘ve been privileged to have watched whom I consider the best in the modern era in Lewis, Lockyer, John’s and Thurston. I will back the captains words that Nathan is doing now what the mentioned took years to develop. The great modern game of the NRL. I’m a proud QLD’er but I can do nothing but bow my head and just hope he ( Nathan ) doesn’t start his own dynasty in Origin. Greatest team of the modern era bar none.
I’m 69 and the hardest thing to deal with at the conclusion of this game will be waiting for next season to start.
Truly a game, and comeback to win, for the Ages!

I would never usually say this about a Centre but I think Stephen Crichton will be the Panthers biggest loss in the Three-Peat era. He is just such a Big match player. Always delivers on the big stage & was NSW's best in 2023. Time will tell...

the bloke is such a genuine athlete. Super quick witted and constantly pulls big plays out of nowhere. Penrith will produce another gun centre but Crichton is definitely one of a kind.
the experience of playing in finals came to the fore and Nathan in the last 20 minutes took the game by the scruff of the neck and led the team to 3nro , brilliant game to watch back here in scotland

Touching on a few comments on here 100% agree Adam Gee deserves a payrise. That was the best reffing of a GF in the modern era. No BS, no BS penalties, controlled the game and what we saw was incredible. Either side has NOTHING to complain about and what a game. He must Ref the next 5!
Dead right. None of his decisions influenced the outcome of the game. He let the players make it happen.
Imagine if every NRL was reffed like that, the entertainment level would be insane.
As a Parra fan I envy the skill and shear determination the never give up attitude of the Penrith Panthers this was one of the best Grandfinals I have seen in a long time

Even if you hate them, you can’t deny that they are an absolute champion team now. Had every right to call it a night, back to back premierships and a 4th straight grand final and this team found a way to get it done. Going to take a champion side to knock them off their perch
As a Sydney sider I was actually a bit disgusted by the amount of support for the Broncos in the stadium. Tall poppy syndrome? Cleary and Luai being let off suspendable offences in past seasons? Arrogance? Not sure why Sydney didn't get behind them. Does karma exist? Ask Reece Walsh. No he should not be suspended for his "mum" comment but in a week's time the NRL should contact him and tell him he has a suspended fine of $20,000 based on the ugly swearing at referee Butler, the childish refusal to admit he did it, the taunting at Warriors players (OK except the Warriors let him out of his contract) and anything else he has been a $%@% about

Edit: Their 2020 loss in the Grand Final was the best thing that has happened.
This is one of those moments in history you have to appreciate. It’ll be a long time till anything like this happens again, what a team.
As a bronco supporter at the end of the game I stood up and gave panthers a standing ovation they are a great team any fool could of told you the panthers grandfinals experience going into their 4th in a row was going to be to much for the young broncos playing in their 1st grand final Always next year lol.
Ivan clearly also took the warriors to an grand final, but didn't win that one
Brisbane looked over confident after Ezra Mam's hat- trick but I love the never-give- up attitude by the Panthers, they played till their last breath I think they deserve the win. Cleary was very outstanding. One of the best grand finals ever.

The first 60 minutes Brisbane looked like winners but the last 20 minutes grew an extra leg. Penrith are a model of what a league team should be. Home grown.
The first 40 minutes Panthers were all over them, Broncos defended well, but made 11 mistakes. Panthers made one mistake all game. The Broncs were good for the first 20 of the second half; because of their effort to keep the Panthers out in the first 40, they runout of juice at the very end.
What an amazing game, never be 1 like it again. ❤

I loved the 2015 grand final. As a Parra fan i just wanted a great game. Wow. To witness greatness of that level is pretty special. Cleary is a freak. But watching Walsh is awesome too. When he runs its a beautiful thing to watch. He just needs to be polished and in a few yesrs theyll be talking about him like they talk about Cleary. I see Jarryd Hayne and Anthony Miniciello in him. Fast going forward and lateral, can step, create plays and can run through the hole and be in the roght spot.

Cleary was great in the last 20 min but he missed 3 tackles that lead to 3 Broncos tries yet the commentary say absolutely nothing. They make me sick especially Andrew Johns and that flog who calls the games on Channel 9. Jerking Cleary off for 80 min and not calling him out when he is at fault when missing tackles
