I've got one on a 3 year lease and counting the days til i return it. There's been massive issues with the software on the mk8 range. The touch buttons are terrible and important ones you need don't even illuminate at night time. The aggressive lane departure that will pull you into parked cars and stop/start system which cuts the engine before you've even came to a halt need switched off every time you switch the ignition on. Don't even bother using the wireless charger - it will just heat your phone up like an oven and put very little power in your phone. You will also feel every single tiny stone on the road thanks to the elastic band tyres. On the positive side it looks good and gets looks and compliments everywhere. The dsg gearbox is the only option and is a delight. It also goes like the clappers and leaves a lot of cars in your rear view mirror

How many miles shows when you put a full tank in? Got a 150bhp mk8 diesel and get 600miles but want a gtd but don’t know the tank range…

@@philipdaly4916 usually get about 480 mile to a tank, just depends on usage. I reckon you could get 500 out it but I don't like running that low. The average mpg is almost always 49-50mpg

@@philipdaly4916 Mixed driving I'd say it's around the 560 mark. Town driving as you'd expect does hit the mpg, but overall it's pretty economical. Depending on your driving style you may get more out of it. 👍

@@phillip8102 sounds decent, I get about 550-600 out of my mk8 150bhp Diesel, so was just wondering if I still could get similar if I get a gtd, that’s with a mixture of 30miles a day of 60mph cruising and occasional overtakes

There nice cars seen a few with the optional upgraded wheels & they look like the GTi from the front. Just brought a mk7.5 version & can’t complain at all a full tank lasts me four weeks I mainly drive in normal mode but when you change to sport it changes into a different car plus individual is even faster 😊

The only issue is if your a town driver only don’t go diesel yes it offers better economy, but your be forever have dpf issues , if your a commuter with average 30 mile commute at +50 then yes diesel away whether 150 or gtd 200hp you won’t regret the power train

I went for the Adelaide 19's optional alloys on mine.
Added a Maxton design Rear spoiler lip and made all the GTD badges all around red, and put on the silver Golf R mirrors.
It attracts so much attention because it looks so unique, a blend between the GTI and the Golf R, but with economy of a GTD.
    Best of both worlds.
