One of my favorite players when I was a kid. Still remember when he hit three HR at Camden Yards back in 95/96. Smoothest baseball swing I ever seen to this day.
MY GUY DARRYL STRAWBERRY🔥🗽💪🏾.. I WAS BORN IN 85 BUT I SEEN HIS HIGHLIGHTS CUZ IM A BASEBALL ALSO! BUT MR STRAWBERRY WAS NICE! AT YHE PLATE AND IN THE OUTFIELD
Great seeing Darryl in such a good way after everything he has been through in his life. He is very articulate and easy to talk to in all of the interviews I have seen with him.
I grew up on the westside of Chicago in the mid 80's. I remember my dad and his hunt club buddies watching the Chicago Cub games. They were playing the Mets and at that moment, Darryl Strawberry became one of my favorite baseball players of all time.
@@PresidentKamalaHarris.his last full year in MlB was 1998...he was 6'6" 200 lbs...darryl was before the steroid era...he was one of the premier power hitters of the 1980s

He's the only reason im a Mets fan till this day. I started back when he got busted for cocaine around '86 and wanted to support his recovery and I thought being a Mets fan would help. Im 44 now and still reppin my team.
Coke was EVERYWHERE by EXpo 86 in Canada. The EXPO opened up US distribution and so many managers/workmates I know blew all their coin on Coke, but ALSO made the workplace a miserable experience for those who just wanted to live life and not make OTHERS pay for it: theft, back deals, gang group thinking. Strawberry was perhaps the poster child but the TIMES were a guilty. Zappa refused SNLive as it was a drug pit, and tolerated wide open. Drugs of any kind skew the work/life experience and in the and we all pay.
I couldn't have hated a player more than when he was on the Mets, but as a Yankee every at bat seemed exciting. Loved him at that point!! Thanks to George for giving him a shot.
my dad took me and my brother to met games all the time in the 80s then all of a sudden around 1985 my mom started coming with us to the games she said only reason she went was to watch darryl run she said she never saw something so graceful as the way darryl would run the bases
Doc Gooden and Darryl created an eternal connection and great memories for NY Baseball fans. Even for us Yankee fans. For myself, it was the only period where I followed and attended Met games. For the youngsters, if they hadn't been caught up in the drug "war" in the 80's ( i.e when the U.S Gov't flooded black neighborhoods with drugs to finance international proxy wars for stealing resources) they both would likely have been Hall of famers. Straw who hit 335 while missing major parts of 6 seasons with drug and cancer problems had can't miss Hall of fame talents. Doctor K had HOF abilities too. I'm glad they will be honored at SHEA this year. ( a little Yankee fan dig😁)
its crazy growing up in queens he was my first childhood idol lol i thought he was god lol to hear he grew up just like alot of us is crazy my pops always knew wat time it was tho
Damn, Strawberry is 61 years old, and apart from the grey hairs, doesn't look that different from his twenty-something self, even after all the hard living!
Clearly Vlad you don't know baseball hahaha...of course they gonna send him to Double or Triple A RIGHT OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL before calling him up to the majors lol. This isn't basketball haha.
No disrespect! But he was the biggest waste of talent in MLB, he still had a solid career for a player who used drugs. If he stayed clean, he would had been Top 5 of All-Time. He was my favorite player
He was 1 of my favorite players growing up,im 44.🎉
I'm 45 he was my favorite player
Best MLB swings, 1. Griffey jr 2. BONDS 3. D. Strawberry
Honorable Mention: Manny Ramirez (90's Cleveland Indians, Early 00's Boston Red Sox version)
Will Clark of the San Francisco Giants.... Tony gwynn San Diego Padres... Wade boggs Boston Red Sox... Personal favorite Fred McGriff Atlanta braves
Add Gary Sheffield to the list
Eric Davis
You forgot 44 Reggie Jackson,Mike Schimdt from the Phillies.G Brett from KC Royals was a problem too
Straw was my favorite player back in the day! I tried to pattern my swing after his!
My favorite baseball player as a kid. I am glad he is still looking healthy.

this brother, and Doc Gooden, without the drug use. was headed to the baseball HOF, easily.

Darryl Strawberry has come a long way! I'm very proud of the man that Darryl Strawberry has become!

Seems like his mom used herself to boost her sons career
I like how he gave Pete Rose his "Flowers"!!!
Sounds so feminine 😂

GREAT to see Strawdog doing so good and looking healthy!
Strawberry’s swing was similar to Clark’s to me. Like they were aiming for Pluto.
What a testament on Pete Rose coming from Straw.
Growing up, we called that head first slide the Pete Rose. We either did the hook, or the Pete Rose. And everybody wanted to be Straw or Eric Davis.
A well spoken guy and he likes Pete Rose 👍

Shout out to lil Strawberry, Maryland Terp 🏀
Damn wish Kev Mac videos would’ve got this one.
Vlad showing off his brilliance; Referring to Pete Rose
"The whole gambling thing"
No fences around the parks. It’s like that now in Chicago parks. The city doesn’t put their money into baseball like the suburbs do
Strawberry saw more bricks than Charles Cosby Which Vlad is currently interviewing as well😂😂

Vlad acted surprised he went straight to the minors that's how baseball works you don't just suit up in bigs right away
Vlad’s slow.
What about the Black Sox riding in the back of Mr Anderson truck!

Pete Rose deserves to be in the Hall of Fame
All things considered, Darryl looks great for 62.

Then he passed it to your white queen while giving her back shots and facials🤡🤡🤡🤣🤣🤣
He looks healthy today.
Strawberry was in his classroom during the draft? Why????Should have been near the phone waiting for a call.
It wasn’t like that back then. The draft wasn’t televised and players weren’t invited to draft night.
Vlad putting out a 10 min clip he wants to get to strawberry fucking up getting hooked on coke
