I really respect you for the way you calmly handled the situation. I always travel with a few of my utility bills, driving licence and even pay slips in addition to my travelling documents, in case. Because i have been singled by immigration officers on transit before.
Omw…..was bawling my eyes out….but thankfully cheered up in the end. Soo sorry you had to go through that horrible experience en alone. Unbelievable. But seeing you soo happy in the end was just amazing. Safe journey.

Trudy am an immigration officer in Ghana and I think the problem here is that you don’t have a residence permit of Ghana in your passport which qualifies as a visa anytime you want to enter Ghana again. Just a marriage certificate doesn’t qualify as a visa in Ghana. Please since you are married to a Ghanaian get it done is actually very cheap for people married to Ghanaian or with Ghanaian background. Take care😘

Some citizens with documents are better than others. Airlines can really deter you from travelling and administer immigration duties?
In any case, why all these borders and immigration systems to check what, migrants as the establishments calls everyone?
And in principle, our parents and grandparents signed up to all of this?

Hey Trudy. I had the same problem in Egypt when I went to Zambia. I had the brilliant idea of printing the Zambian immigration email as well as the list of countries I am heading to Travel without visa

Glad everything worked.out well. That's why sometimes in life we have to be calm and patient and let the process work itself out. The ID will always treat you fair and give you a chance to make things right. There may have been a slight confusion with your papers but as long as everything is legit ..it will end up well as it did. Sorry for the slight inconvenience..Enjoy the flight and remain calm even in the face of uncertainties..Trust😊
