My daughter and her family visited me in July from UK to here Canada. Their 3 suitcases were misplaced, left in IRELAND, yet they were coming to Toronto. 3 days without their luggage. They had to buy while waiting for the luggage to arrive. These airlines are all upto something Trudy. So I understand what you went through.

The airline can buy you a new one exactly like the one that their luggage staff spoiled. You go to the damaged goods counter and make a claim for your damaged bag. It is normally located near where you collect your luggage, just before you go out of the Airport. If it is unrepairable, they will give you one or refund you money. All airlines has that service. Good luck next time.

Ms Trudie stay at the airport hotel the noght before your flight. You will be always early. Purchase a simple wedding band and wear the expensive one when you are gloing to expensive places.

Because of its small nature a ring can be misplaced easily. In my case I make sure there is only one spot I put it in my room when I remove it due to handling of bleach. Hapoy you found it

Kudos that amaizing..do a video a culture shock different btwn kenya and Ghana,I understand the feeling when your suit case is broken ,I felt bad when my suitcase was broken and on top of that dirty and water..I was so angry...I wish the airport can do measures on that,how to handle the suite case well in case of any damage they will be responsible.
the African Countries got more or less a Agreement like the Schengen Countries in Europe... You can cross borders ( the same like at a Airport ) just with Your ID Card... as a frequent Traveler You should know...
It happened to me also Trudy, I travelled to nigeria and during check in, I was asked to pull my ring too and thats how I forgot it, thank God my husband is an understanding man though i was with my children. Thank God you found yours, Accra is beautiful

The reason some people rush to get off the flight at it is because they have connecting flights to get on to, they have to get off that flight so fast, so they can check in onto the other flight in time so as not to miss their flight.
That part of the airport people mishandling bags is wanting. Something should be done.
