    That last man made me teary (in a good way). ".....not plan to move, plan to go back home....Anywhere I am in the world, I am a stranger, but Africa can never reject me.....mi African, mi neva lose mi identify.....Unite....Collaborate and unite". As a Jamaican I have always believed that Rastas are the consciousness of our nation.🖤

      The first woman she’s undefeated and what she thinks about Africa is very wrong because Africans are good people’s, kind and generous, I don’t know why she doesn’t like Africans while Africa is not country is a continent and what she said is from movies and movies is not reality or reality. She should try to educate herself and know that what she thinks is wrong. Maybe she has her own problem and she makes excuses for Africans.

      Nigeria and Ghana also they should'nt even be a country due to different tribes and religious lines before Europeans came along also the two doesn't represent the whole of Africa. Black people in the West always make that broad statement. We know there are over thousands of tribes, languages, traditions, religions most is beautiful the rest is questionable. There are lots of things to discover.

      Not the best way to learn about Africa though, since movies can be so misleading!!!
      It is best to watch Documentaries about Africa, it will shock you just how diverse and rich our Continent is!!!
      It will also shock you how almost every European country has been built with Africa's wealth, while the people of Africa is left in poverty!!!
      Africa is actually the Richest Continent of all the world's Continents!!!

    • @lonalxaia
      @lonalxaia 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@yvonnepassley3780 for Europe I would say all of them because some of the countries especially Central and Eastern Europe under the Russian empire and Russia has a huge resource and doesn't need anything from Africa. Scandinavia didn't have an empire in Africa. It was mostly Western Europe Britain, Spain, Belgium,Portugal,France and Germany to be precise. Also a lot black people in the West always skirt over the Arabs in Africa.

    The opening with that lady has me in stitches. A lot of older people in Jamaica and the Caribbean do think like her. The idea that Africa and the people there are bad was part of the colonialism mindset taught to us in this region. The UK was once seen as the motherland, it is only in recent decades we have switched our mindset to Africa being the motherland and seeing ourselves as part of the African diaspora.

      Thanks to the internet and social media people are more open to being African or of African descendants. I remember growing up some children did not want to associate themselves with being african. why? because the foreign media only showed the famine, poverty and disease in Africa not the wealth and the greatness. Therefore, most Jamaicans were not proud to be of african descent. However, Rastafarians has always identified as Africans.

This shows you what slavery did to all of 21:46 us in the west . African Americans live in the belly of the beast. So just imagine what we had and have to do to have a connection with Africa. @@charmainethompson1319that’s my point exactly.. A lot of our ideas or thoughts of Africa come from negative perceptions we see on TV . Because we couldn’t pass down our history or tradition. We were forced to conform . The flaws our people have are not by choice . However, we still have deep love , respect and admiration for our people on the continent.

      First of all I a pan Africanist . But what I want is to stop is the negative attacks on African Americans. Could you imagine the attacks the AA would have had if they said any of the things I’ve seen and heard throughout Miss Trudy and Wode May’s Caribbean trip. I say that to say we are all one people that have been systematically torn apart and always remember that .

    We love Jamaica our Kenyan culture adapted the Rastafarian culture in terms of Bob Marley’s music. Big up for Jamaica. Also I loved the lady who did not like Africa, maybe her perspective will change with time. Thank you for for gracing us with excellent dialogue from our own Jamaicans. Love from Philadephia Pennsylvania.

    I’m lucky enough to visit the continent, transit through Ethiopia and spend five weeks in Namibia . I get the most warm welcome I ever receive, abroad and I’m a Jamaican, who live abroad for 25 years 10 years in the state 15 years in Canada, the Namibian people make me feel at home! I didn’t feel like I’m a stranger like how I feel living in the state or Canada for all those years.
