Good timing 🤣 I've just installed my heat shield and spacer kit using your code. I am amazed how a couple pieces of plastic can transform a bike. So smooth, no stalling in low gears turning out at a T-junction. The ride through the villages no longer give me wrist ache or numb my fingers. Amazing, I am blown away. The heat shield kit has definitely worked, its definitely alot cooler than before. Still hot but not as hot haha. Love my 899 panigale ❤️. Thanks for the recommendation on the mods 👍🏻

I generally dread these kind of videos on other bike lifestyle channels as they tend to be dull and meandering but it was so pleasant to watch your upload. Its great that all your various uploads consistently have that unique fun and pleasant quality you that you bring to the table. Keep up the great work sir.
had my licence for 2 years.. started off on a gsxs 750, loved it. but ive always said one day id love to own a ducati, a 2015 899 came into my local dealers with only 250 mile! so i went to take it a wee test drive. well i took a 2018 gsxr 1000 out 1st, was smooth, and obviously fast. so that turned my head. but then the 899 came out. the look, and sound alone had me sold. then the test drive, lets just say i fell in love. people complain about the jurkyness of ducatis, but i didnt find it a problem, theres nothing out there like it, io never ride another bike. im hooked. going to keep this for a few years then go for a 1299 probably the final edition, but then again in a few years il see what new ones are like out.. ;)
Apologies for jumping in on your post impanax, i currently own a GSR600 which i anticipate changing next year for something bigger. On my wish list (which changes frequently) is a gsxr750 , 848 evo or a 899 ? Is this a stupid question.. (probably) which one would you two tell me to save up and go for ??? Genuinely interested in both your opinions. Thanks in advance
Glen whyte honestly, you need to go test drive each one, and see what feels best for you! ofcourse i will say ducati hands down, yes. they are more expensive, but. oh my. i cant even put it into words. il never own anything but a ducati the rest of my life. they are on a different level. but as i said, go test drive what you are interested in, you could test drive the ducati and not like it at all? but i hope you fall for the ducati like i did!

Hey TMF, thanks for the extra video. I'm really enjoying the Western Isles tour. I just got back from a 2,500 mile trip to Utah for a BMW rally. It was a great trip through a few national parks. Next week I'm going to the BMW international rally in Iowa, the scenery and roads won't be nearly as good for that trip sadly. Take care and keep up the great work!

Yes,I’ve an autoblipper on my gs but I think you’ll find downshifts smoother with a little manual blip and it’ll help your gearbox last longer,safe riding🏍🏍👍
Just getting my first 600 miles completed on a 2018 Supersport S. I got the Akra Full Exhaust system, which includes a new air cleaner and tune. I think it may be noisier than the Panigale. However, I like the SS riding position a bit better as well as the OHLINS shocks. the ride is exceptional. Glad to hear the Duc out again, and I think I hear mine calling to me.
Ah, the Supersport S w/Akra race pipes is much louder, even with the DB Killers installed. Tried removing the DB Killers, but one side is stuck. Have to fix that at the 600mile service. After the DB Killers are out, I will have to send you a sound byte.....
Great bonus vid. Bike sounds ace. Really pleased you’re satisfied with the bikes you have. Wildlife? There was a flattened skunk on the road on my way to work today, what a stench. Get it on your tyres and you have to live with it for days. I saw Queen back in the 80s a couple of times. Incredible shows. The roads here are so friggin straight. Next bend 237kms. I kid you not. Got myself a rent and the gear I’m off touring bro.

Hi TMF - great ride on a fantastic bike. Thanks for taking us along with you. I ride all these roads myself quite regularly. I will surely give you a bikers' nod if I ever see you. My favourite in the area is the B4011 from Long Crendon to Bicester - that is a real scratcher's dream!
It’s a great feeling nipping to the front of a queue of traffic, unless you stall when the lights change then you feel like a right plonker. I normally follow this up with a panic set off and accidental wheely 🏍

If you're out on the ride for few hours I'd recommend going from oxford up the a44 to Moreton in Marsh than a429 to Ettington a422 to Stratford upon Avon. Lovely wide roads through Cotswolds

Re the leathers on a hot day and revealing your godlike torso... a set of compression base layer top and shorts that are designed to keep you cool are well worth giving a go if you havent already. It even makes squeezing into leathers that bit easier as well.
Great random vlog, enjoyed that! May I recommend a coolmax suit for under your leathers, I have one and it works an absolute treat. On another note, any chance of a Honda cb1000r review in the not so distant future?
Queen ... You saw Queen, live, so jealous. I had the chance to go and see them at Knebworth in 86 but didn't feel I could afford it at the time. One of my regrets. Freddie was just the best.

As a flyer myself, I'm surprised there are no restrictions near Checkers. Here in the U.S. a "Temporary Flight Restriction" follows the president wherever he goes. In fact there are NO flights allowed (to include drones) without secret service approval within a 10 mile radius.
Yes that's what happens with our royal family - normally a 10 mile boundary around Royal Flights - no such thing with the government though (I say that, I'll check the NOTAMs next Friday, as it's POTUS maybe we will have some TRA's established).....

Lovely. The 899 has got to be one of the best sports-bikes for the road - looks and sounds great, handles nicely (the 'Goldilocks zone') for medium-fast road riding, brakes well (feel/power/fade) and has enough engine to make it feel sporty, but not so much that it feels like it wan't to go everywhere at c. 186mph (exactly the reasons that I ditched my '15 S1000RR). ..makes me pine after the ZX-7R that I bought new back in the day - shame that Kawasaki stopped updating it - I'd put a bet on a modernised ZX-7R (i.e. [sorted] Fi, ABS, TC, updated headlight, taillight and indicators) would be in the same territory as the 899 - a sweet-sweet road-sports-bike that allows you to simply enjoy sporty riding :)

I’m half considering selling my 899 due to ongoing health issues with my shoulders and wrists but I would hate to see it go and what would I replace it with that would give me the same buzz

Here in the south of the Netherlands it's hot every day. 27-30°C, too hot for me in combination with bad air quality due to increased ozone concentrations.

With the Yam I have now, the whole bike sort of makes this tinny pop when you step it into first-and as you let out the clutch, you’re not sure it’s gonna do a wheelie or start cutting grass. Picked up my new Ducati 797 on Monday and went for a ride this afternoon. Bum was cooking at the lights, not easy to get into N either, just had to rock the bike gently back and forth. I guess these are the little idiosyncrasies of owning a Ducati! Glad you’re out on your Panigale! 😊

a different kind of tour would possibly be a trip to Paris with the family in a car and you with your Panigale? all you would need would probably be the bike, and a backpack with drinks in it and perhaps a change of gear in case you get separated on route somewhere! you can always phone and arrange to meet next day, (more to put their minds at rest) but all your luggage would be with the car keeping you nice and light you might need your rain gear too eh? otherwise! just a thought, maybe Disney visit all your ladies shopping and stuff? you could film the riding but any family filming is your own business! (combined tour/family holiday in other words?) I love that bike though! ride safe
I thought so when I watched that! you could really give the bike a good stretch on the French roads, a little motorway and a bit of French A and B roads! I don't know if its still the same but when I and a mate did that (1982ish lol) as long as you followed the green arrows you're heading for Paris! junctions all have green arrows! (I think it was green) so you cant go too wrong!

Very nice - the bike sounds absolutely fantastic. How do you pick up the exhaust sounds so well? I'm thinking that a clever fellow who knew your frame rate could figure out how fast you're going from the degree to which the passing trees are blurred. My guess is that it would be an impressive number. ;-)

Was surprisingly comfortable......well mostly. TBH I would suffer it many times to go across mountain again. Biggest challenge was creating way to mount luggage. Obv there are various solutions, but not that suit my thrifty nature!
Gas how bikes are so diverse... you have the GS and love it for all the things it does so well and treat it to goodies to add to the pleasure. The panigale you just love for different reasons and set about to make it more comfortable. Heart and head are huge factors 🙄

Great vids and live watching them but your always slagging off the south east I live in the proper south east (Sussex) on my Daytona 675 And there are some fantastic roads with great views twisting roads and place to open her up Maybe you should venture down and see Keep up the good work
Unlike for us pilots, Rule 5 and all that, drones have somewhat relaxed rules (but see changes introduced last week) even for a congested area which arguably this will be tomorrow never mind for that BIG visit! I suspect with an advance party of counter surveillance measures personnel it might be a cheap thrill that would be a rather short one for you at Chequers if you insisted on exercising your aviation rights!
Paul Rodgers didn't do a bad job either when they had him as lead singer on the Al Murray show I saw live, but agreed about Dr May, pretty much the same as my personal favourite bass player, Bruce Foxton of the Jam, now bass player and founding member of From The Jam. If you get the chance, go see them, there's not much difference to the original band. If of course, it's your kind of music.
Don't worry, I have a dislike for Mr Weller too, simply because he split up The Jam, when they were at their peak, for his own selfish solo career. Ah well, he made the right choice I guess.

With very good reason, I share your healthy respect for suicidal wildlife when out for a bit of rural two-wheeled fun. Two pheasant strikes (one painful and the other just slippery) have made me scan the roadsides very carefully indeed nowadays. As for deer and even wild boar.... let's not go there. I have to say that I ride to forget. By that I mean that I'd probably have some difficulty to think logically and with much clarity about Brexit/Trump/Queen/etc... but I'm glad that you can. Cheers 👍
No matter the weather I always dress accordingly for motorcycling recently with the hot weather I’ve seen a lot wearing shorts. I guess an off is the only time that they will think wearing shorts ain’t the best idea.

looks like you need some heavier bar end weights your clocks seem to blur at certain revs i can only put it down to nuisance vibrations !!

I do ride it a fair amount (not as much as I'd like) I just don't tend to film on it much as I'm concentrating on the ride!
Re the leathers on a hot day and revealing your godlike torso... a set of compression base layer top and shorts that are designed to keep you cool are well worth giving a go if you havent already. It even makes squeezing into leathers that bit easier as well.

Queen ... You saw Queen, live, so jealous. I had the chance to go and see them at Knebworth in 86 but didn't feel I could afford it at the time. One of my regrets. Freddie was just the best.

queen touring for ages with Paul Rodgers (from Free and Bad Company) before this new guy. Rodgers is a genuine legend and a great singer-one of best ever
...I'm glad they ditched Rodgers, I think Lambert is much more in the spirit of Freddie (just my opinion!)

As a flyer myself, I'm surprised there are no restrictions near Checkers. Here in the U.S. a "Temporary Flight Restriction" follows the president wherever he goes. In fact there are NO flights allowed (to include drones) without secret service approval within a 10 mile radius.
Yes that's what happens with our royal family - normally a 10 mile boundary around Royal Flights - no such thing with the government though (I say that, I'll check the NOTAMs next Friday, as it's POTUS maybe we will have some TRA's established).....

Lovely. The 899 has got to be one of the best sports-bikes for the road - looks and sounds great, handles nicely (the 'Goldilocks zone') for medium-fast road riding, brakes well (feel/power/fade) and has enough engine to make it feel sporty, but not so much that it feels like it wan't to go everywhere at c. 186mph (exactly the reasons that I ditched my '15 S1000RR).
..makes me pine after the ZX-7R that I bought new back in the day - shame that Kawasaki stopped updating it - I'd put a bet on a modernised ZX-7R (i.e. [sorted] Fi, ABS, TC, updated headlight, taillight and indicators) would be in the same territory as the 899 - a sweet-sweet road-sports-bike that allows you to simply enjoy sporty riding :)

Drone would have radio problems long before reaching Chequers. First general freq and then targeted.
...I couldn't get within 2 miles of Chequers earlier, so even if I tried to beat the temp airspace ban I still couldn't have got it overhead...

Same as for the rest of the video - 1080 at 60fps....think the blurring is down to TH-cam compression artefacts....
I’m half considering selling my 899 due to ongoing health issues with my shoulders and wrists but I would hate to see it go and what would I replace it with that would give me the same buzz

Reminds me of what I miss about my old Ducati, that character. With the Yam I have now, the whole bike sort of makes this tinny pop when you step it into first-and as you let out the clutch, you’re not sure it’s gonna do a wheelie or start cutting grass. Enjoy this type of video, like the Royal Wedding video. Simply fun.
Picked up my new Ducati 797 on Monday and went for a ride this afternoon. Bum was cooking at the lights, not easy to get into N either, just had to rock the bike gently back and forth. I guess these are the little idiosyncrasies of owning a Ducati! Glad you’re out on your Panigale! 😊

a different kind of tour would possibly be a trip to Paris with the family in a car and you with your Panigale? all you would need would probably be the bike, and a backpack with drinks in it and perhaps a change of gear in case you get separated on route somewhere! you can always phone and arrange to meet next day, (more to put their minds at rest) but all your luggage would be with the car keeping you nice and light you might need your rain gear too eh? otherwise! just a thought, maybe Disney visit all your ladies shopping and stuff? you could film the riding but any family filming is your own business! (combined tour/family holiday in other words?) I love that bike though! ride safe
Yeah good idea - that's what I did when I filmed the CRF touring in the trossachs last year....
I thought so when I watched that! you could really give the bike a good stretch on the French roads, a little motorway and a bit of French A and B roads! I don't know if its still the same but when I and a mate did that (1982ish lol) as long as you followed the green arrows you're heading for Paris! junctions all have green arrows! (I think it was green) so you cant go too wrong!

Very nice - the bike sounds absolutely fantastic. How do you pick up the exhaust sounds so well? I'm thinking that a clever fellow who knew your frame rate could figure out how fast you're going from the degree to which the passing trees are blurred. My guess is that it would be an impressive number. ;-)

Do a tour......took my 959 from Devon to IOM for TT this year. Not really a tour I guess, but best time.
I think on a 959 that's definitely a tour - anything over about 100 miles is worthy of the title I reckon!
Was surprisingly comfortable......well mostly. TBH I would suffer it many times to go across mountain again. Biggest challenge was creating way to mount luggage. Obv there are various solutions, but not that suit my thrifty nature!
Gas how bikes are so diverse... you have the GS and love it for all the things it does so well and treat it to goodies to add to the pleasure. The panigale you just love for different reasons and set about to make it more comfortable. Heart and head are huge factors 🙄

Unlike for us pilots, Rule 5 and all that, drones have somewhat relaxed rules (but see changes introduced last week) even for a congested area which arguably this will be tomorrow never mind for that BIG visit!
I suspect with an advance party of counter surveillance measures personnel it might be a cheap thrill that would be a rather short one for you at Chequers if you insisted on exercising your aviation rights!
My thoughts exactly - wouldn't be a cheap thrill given the drone cost me a grand!

Paul Rodgers didn't do a bad job either when they had him as lead singer on the Al Murray show I saw live, but agreed about Dr May, pretty much the same as my personal favourite bass player, Bruce Foxton of
the Jam, now bass player and founding member of From The Jam. If you get the chance, go see them, there's not much difference to the original band. If of course, it's your kind of music.
Actually I'm not a Jam fan for some reason, just struggle with the whole Paul Weller thing (I know I know, what am I thinking!!)....
Don't worry, I have a dislike for Mr Weller too, simply because he split up The Jam, when they were at their peak, for his own selfish solo career. Ah well, he made the right choice I guess.

With very good reason, I share your healthy respect for suicidal wildlife when out for a bit of rural two-wheeled fun. Two pheasant strikes (one painful and the other just slippery) have made me scan the roadsides very carefully indeed nowadays. As for deer and even wild boar.... let's not go there.
I have to say that I ride to forget. By that I mean that I'd probably have some difficulty to think logically and with much clarity about Brexit/Trump/Queen/etc... but I'm glad that you can.

No matter the weather I always dress accordingly for motorcycling recently with the hot weather I’ve seen a lot wearing shorts. I guess an off is the only time that they will think wearing shorts ain’t the best idea.
It amazes the hell out of me the number of guys I see riding sport bikes in T Shirts and trainers.....
