Enjoy the videos showing the towboats. Back in the '40s and 50's I got to see some of the boats still using stern paddle wheels when we crossed the river at Maysville KY. The family made many a weekend trip back to the KY home town. Those Briarhoppers have to go back home when ever possible from the job back in Ohio, ha.
As I mentioned before, I worked on the FV Frank Banta Junior and I think when you bring up the year built, it brings to mind some of the plaques what or where as you have witnessed yourself. To best of knowledge, thinking twenties or thirties... Atlas Star engines, one on each side, a big motor for sure as it would be near the length of a little dump truck an way high power... I would have to research it to find out particulars but what a hard way to serve the lord. great idea this channel
Good flights Mike, odd seeing a single boat, wouldn't think that will happen too often. Seeing the propwash close up gives you an idea how much torque is being produced from the engines 👍💪😎
Nicely done cousin. Keep up the good work.
Thank you sir!
Very soothing to look at.
Great footage, thank you.
Mark Schmidt hey thanks for tagging along!

Alex Osborne a lot of power for sure!
Love the low level close up shots.
Really enjoying this channel, nothing like this in the UK.
Yorkshire Rich glad you’re enjoying and glad your tagging along!
Good job Captain 😊
I never knew the Ohio River was that busy with tow boats and barges....
Gerald Heitman lots of river traffic
FYI
Donna Rushing built 73, repowered in 2011, EMD 12-710G7CIII 6000 hp
Steve Tregre thanks!
That was a great idea to start another channel for the river traffic. You do a fantastic job with both channels.
walter mattson hey thanks for watching!
Enjoyed the video as always Capt.
Fpv mode was pretty cool
Time Lapse Towboater glad you enjoyed it sir!
I liked the non-gimble mode.
salty 101 Thanks!
that tow boat looked strange without barges tied to it. But it did look like a good shape for a cottage.
salty 101 now you see my vision! Haha
You'd think with no tow they would have that first boat up on step and water sking behind it.
longcaster 😂
Did you take a video of the Jesse D Pasentine earlier this year?
Muito lindo towboat 6000 hp
antonia Campos thanks
Flying that close to the water had me nervous, thought the drone was going to take a swim.
David Fisher haha, one stray Asian carp and she is in the sink!
A threefer, did that involve a battery change out?
Jack Springer haha, yes it did!
Are you nervous flying an expensive drone over water. Can you do a drone flying video. Most guys don't share drone tips.
Speaking of paint, I see that all of the tows are painted white.
