I have had cool cabanas since before they had stores in the US. Love them! have had them up on windy days when all the umbrellas on the beach were blowing over my cabana was still up. Love them!!
@@coolcabanas7216 You all have awesome customer service and products. My very first cabana died in June. I was sad and happy, because finally had an excuse to buy the new bigger one.
Great review! We ordered ours and had it in 2 days, used it last week at the beach and absolutely loved it! Very impressed with the quality, weight and ease of use. 5 stars for sure.
Thank you so much. Cant wait to try. Used kast week but my daughter put up n didn't use the oart you put in the ground but it still worked, just not as tall
Just got back from a vacation on the Southern New Jersey shore and watched a guy set this up in front of me and was very impressed with the ease of use. Same goes for him taking it down at the end of the day. I wanted to research this further but you made it real easy. Thanks! Keep up the good work!
YAY! I had requested a Cool Cabanas review recently. I am so glad you got to make this video - Thanks Beach Gear Guy and CC for sending it! I wound up getting one in July and give it a huge thumbs up. Easy to set up even on our first try. That day we had enough room for 3 chairs plus a really large beach blanket. Kept us all safely in the shade when needed and stood up to 12mph winds without us having to bat an eye. And it looks elegant. Finally, a seagull left a mess on it and we were able to clean it off easily - Not sure if the fabric is treated but it came right off (maybe you can do a simulated bird poop test as part of your videos LOL). While it is heavier than the two beach umbrellas we used to carry, the benefits far outweigh that. Also, CC shipped it really fast - I think I got it in two days. This has been my favorite beach purchase to date!
That's right! I remember you left a comment on my Sport-Brella video suggesting I review the CoolCabana! Glad you had a chance to watch it. It really is a good sun shade for the beach. Luckily I didn't have to deal with any seagull mess on this review but I wasn't so lucky when I reviewed the WhiteFang beach tent. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts!
Thanks to your video, I figured out how to set up my cabana in the wind today. I couldn't get my arms to open, until I settled down and remembered you did a vid. Keep doing the good work. I'm in Siesta key.
@@BeachGearGuy I have another question for you. I noticed that under the pockets, the company only has a fabric loop vs a plastic to help anchor it. have you found anything to help? I have the orange screws but that loop does go snugly into the hook. I was thinking of using small carabiners.
For a lawn setup, using the orange screws to anchor down the corners of the CoolCabana worked out well for me, but using small carabiners may be a good idea, as long as they're strong enough.
Thanks! "How It's Made" is one of my dad's favorite shows. Maybe it's rubbed off on me a little. Glad the video was helpful! I hope you like your CoolCabana!
I bought the smaller one for our house at Pawleys Island and I love it! I will say that often the sand is tightly packed, so I use a hammer or a mallet to get get the sand spike in... that is the key to keeping it sturdy on super windy days. My sister still wants to get a Shibumi though!
Love your Review. We live in FL and always going to the beach. I got this cabana and the table you showed in another video. Great review. Great personality.
Thanks for this video review.! We saw a CoolCabana on the beach today and it peaked our interest. Your review has sealed the deal and we’re getting one to supplement our BeachBub for those days the wind won’t be an issue, or when our family members that sit in the taller upright chairs are going to be with us.
I was deciding what beach gear I wanted and saw tons and tons of your video reviews. They have helped me to save money and time. I was aiming for the heavy anchor umbrella, but that looks good for a solo or beach pair. I live in South Florida, and it can get windy here at the beach. But I do want ine that can fit like 4 skinny people in it easily. And this one did it for me! Thank you, beach guy! All that missing here is a "beach" wagon review. Because no one has ever made a video proven that "beach" wagons are supposedly meant for the beach, however; their review is never done AT THE BEACH. 😤 I news one badly but also tight on budget willing to out $300 at most.
First of all, thanks for watching tons of my review videos! I'm glad they helped you out! The CoolCabana is a great sun shade for the beach. Have you had a chance to try yours yet? I have one beach cart video I made a few years ago: th-cam.com/video/qyQWQsz9eEw/w-d-xo.html But I'm working on a new beach wagon video that should be on TH-cam in late May. I think you'll like it. I pull these beach carts all over the beach.
@BeachGearGuy thanks for review. Just home from the beach where we used a Cool Cabana for the first time. We bought it as a supplement to our Shibumi for those low wind days. Generally all went well and we were pleased with its performance- your setup and pack up tips were helpful. Our only issue was packing up when it had become a little windy- do you have any advice for this? I tried reversing the order of setup, saving the windiest side for last. But nothing worked well- once any of the arms started being folded the wind grabbed it and started wreaking havoc- twisting the ribs out of place, pinching fingers, etc. If you have any insight or advice, I’d love to hear it. Thanks again and keep up the good (and entertaining) work!
Hello, I own 2 of the cool cabanas and love them. This video help me even more with useful info that I will be trying soon time soon. I live in Melbounre Fl and the winds sometimes scary me. Thank you for this video.. much appreciate it!
Great review. We have an older version where the arms telescope out and lock into place with the spring buttons. One has failed and although it works fine, it might be time to upgrade
Hey Tim I am in between the CoolCabana and the Sun Ninja. Would love a comparison video to help with which to purchase! Also what works better in higher winds! Thank you and love the content!
Thanks! CoolCabanas vs. Sun Ninja. Great idea! I'll add it to my list. Here's the link to my latest Sun Ninja wind test. th-cam.com/video/D7EeD6rs_LM/w-d-xo.html Between the two, I would choose the Sun Ninja for a windy day at the beach.
Would love this comparison. I have a Neso Grande but I’m considering purchasing the CoolCabana to use when we get to the beach late morning/early afternoon & it’s a bit crowded & there isn’t enough space to put up the Grande. Thank you for your very thorough reviews.
Question: I just received my Coolcabana and it came with the stake and two rods, do I use both rods or just the stake and one rod? Thanks! Great video and good tips!
I haven't yet, but I will be putting together a comparison review later this summer. I have an EasyGo Cabana that is the same size as the medium CoolCabana. Between the two, I prefer the extra space I get from the larger CoolCabana.
Great question! The CoolCabana & the Sun Ninja each have their own advantages. The CoolCabana can be set up faster and takes up less space on the beach. It also does a good job repelling water. The large Sun Ninja can accommodate more people when it's set up with four poles but takes up more real estate, which may annoy your neighbors if the beach is crowded. I also wouldn't want to spend much time under it if it started to rain. Both beach shades can be set up easily enough on lawns using ground stakes.
Beach Gear Guy gave the perfect answer to your question. I was really torn between the Cool Cabana or the Sun Ninja and went with the cabana mainly due to the real estate factor. It's just me and my wife but we are at the beach with others and didn't want the long/large legs of the Ninja obstructing their view or causing them to sit far away from us for the same reason. While at the beach last week we saw a few of the Ninjas set up and I was so glad I went with the cabana, Ninjas have a HUGE footprint. If you order one, get the larger one like we did hands-down, it gave us ample room and the ability to move our chairs around as the sun shifted. I see absolutely no advantage to the smaller one, it's only about a pound lighter and gives you way less shade. I was really impressed by the quality of the Coolcabana, All of the arms are held together with SS screws as opposed to rivets and can easily be replaced by the user if needed, parts available from the website. (not that I feel anything will break, but nice to know). I foresee 5+ years of use, could not be happier with my purchase.
Awesome review/video! I just purchased the Cool Cabana. It hasn't arrived yet. My main reason for purchase is the ease of setup and the versatility of being able to use it on the lawn. I saw some other brands online that came with curtains/side shades. What happens as the day is ending? Can anyone comment if a curtain/side shade is needed? I'm thinking of getting some velcro and a curtain but it seems like a missed opportunity for CoolCabana.
Thanks! I'll be reviewing a few other beach cabanas that have removable sidewalls. I'm also surprised CoolCabana hasn't made a side shade for their cabana.
Thanks for the question! It would depend on many factors, such as the available space on the beach, wind conditions, and the number of people joining me under the shade. If I was going to a busy beach and it was just me and someone else, I would take the CoolCabana.
Thanks for the review! Just bought the large and ready to replace my heavy Academy canopy tent. I also ordered CGEAR lightweight beach blanket. Curious how it compares to the original.
My pleasure! Looks like you're gearing up for the summer! Please let me know what you think of both the CoolCabana & CGEAR Beach Blanket once you have a chance to use them.
Great question! I love them both! It depends on the situation. If I'm going to a beach and I know it will be crowded, I would grab the CoolCabana because the Neso takes up a lot of real estate on the beach. If I need to provide shade for 5 people, I'm taking the Neso.
As a personal preference, I would go with the CoolCabana. Although the Shibumi Shade is fun and easy to set up, the CoolCabana costs less and doesn't make a flapping sound (which doesn't bother me, but it may annoy others on the beach. Also, the Cool Cabana doesn't need to be readjusted when the wind direction changes.
Thanks, Austin! Great question. It depends on the weather, the beach, and the number of people I have to shade. So it's a big answer which I'll dive into in a future video. 😉 But if I had to choose a beach cabana, CoolCabanas would be my top pick.

I was going to ask the same question. I have the neso in my cart but just saw the cool cabana. 😎
Do you prefer the Cool Cabana or the Shibumi (Florida)?

Also, the Cool Cabana doesn't need to be readjusted when the wind direction changes.
How does the buried spike part come out of the sand? Just pull it? Is it easy to remove? Tia
Yes. It's easy to remove. You may have to shift it side to side a few inches and then remove it if it's in hard-packed sand.
Thanks for your reply Beach Great Guy. Are they well worth the high cost and do they come on sale in Australia?
VERY HELPFUL
