The water proof aspect of the Neso really helped me make up my mind, you never know when there will be a brief shower and if I use the tarp as a gear cover it looks like the Sun Ninja and Ziggy Shade will just let the water right through. We’ve had our Neso tent for over a year and use it regularly at various Southern CA beaches. We absolutely love it. Can you tell me the name of the stakes you used with it in the back yard during your water test?
Thanks for your suggestion! I've used a beach shade similar to the Osoeri Beach Tent, and I didn't care for it. It took longer to set up, and the anchor bags would sometimes move when the wind picked up. It's better to have a canopy beach tent with four big anchor bags than eight smaller ones.
That's an interesting idea, Billy! I haven't tried that yet, but I have set up my canopy beach tents in wet, muddy low tide sand. The damp sand does weigh more because it has more mass, so the wet sand does a better job weighing down the anchor bags.
Hey, I live the video and will not be purchasing the Neso. I do have 2 questions: are the poles thicker/stronger the bigger size you choose or are they the same pole? Also what are the blue shoes in the beginning of the video you are wearing. I saw you send people to a link to the red ones but I’m curious of the blue ones. The looks different. Thanks
Thanks for the questions! The Neso Gigante Poles are a foot longer than the Grande poles, and the diameter is the same. My feet are sporting the HIITAVE Men Barefoot Water Shoes. Unfortunately, the shoes I've got on in this video are not currently available on Amazon.
Another great review! We just used our Gigante this past weekend down in South Fla. I definitely recommend burying those sand bags! only takes a few minutes and makes a huge difference. Also suggest if you buy this tent, invest in 2 more poles! They only ship with the two. BTW.... Do you have any cart suggestions for beach access paths that have stairs?
Thanks!!! Isn't the Neso Gigante HUGE?!?!? Lots of shade! I think a beach cart with two big rear wheels such as the Rio Wonder Wheeler would be the best for stairs. It may be a struggle though if it's loaded up to the max.

Hey, Which color would you recommend, does it matter? I want a solid color but not sure which ones block the most sun and are the coolest temperature wise. What do you think?
Dark colors absorb UV rays, making the surface of the shades hot, but the area underneath it cool. If you were thinking of the Neso beach tent, I would go with the blue.
Thank you for the great question. I measured the 11' x 11' Neso Gigante when it was stretched out on the beach and got 15 feet by 14 feet. By the way, I like how your auto correct replaced the word gigante.
Why would you want a unshaded where you aren't even facing the water depending on wind direction. Also if the wind shifts I assume you have to reset up the shade.
First of all, could you share what kind of red beach shoes you're sporting, please? They look sharp! Also, thanks very much for your insights on this Gigante tent! We are heading to FL this July with another family ( a total of four adults and 10 kids!) so we're going to need quite a bit of shade. I was considering the Ziggy Jumbo, but the Gigante seems like a better (and taller) option for us.

I hope you and your family have a great time in Florida!
Thanks Ran An! I appreciate it! Sure! I've set up both the Neso Grande and Gigante in the backyard using large orange anchor screws. You could also use rocks or anything heavy enough to keep the anchor bags in place.
I live in Chicago and looking for a beach tent for 2-3 people, durable, easy setup/take down, and that isn't huge. Would that be the pacific breeze tent? Thank you in advance
Thanks for the good question! Yes. I'll be making other canopy beach tent comparison videos down the road. The Otentik Beach Sunshade (which seems to share the same basic design as the ZiggyShade Sun Shade) is on my list. Thanks for the suggestion!
Love the reviews, they are great! Taking 4 adults and 2 kids to the beach, do you recommend the Gigante or do you think the Grande would be sufficient? Kids are very active so I’d imagine we will be in and out a lot with probably 4 under there at a time most of the time and rarely all 6 of us.
Love the review! I'm needing a large sun shelter for OBX in July for 10-15 people. I think the Gigante is a good option. I'm curious though, what is the overall footprint of the Gigante? I don't recall seeing that in the video.
Thanks! Wow, 10 to 15 people! That's a big crew! This week, I'm working on a Neso Grande & Gigante vs. Shibumi Shade Review video. The overall Gigante footprint is about 25 feet by 25 feet.
Same thing I experceived with my Neso, spent too much time setting up, even another couple came over to help set up and they said it was a lot if sandbag filling. Some reviews mention the pole buckling in higher winds. I returned mine and will keep looking. I go down on the beach to relax, not maintain a shelter

I am finally buying either the Giganto or the Grande this week. I need advice. My primary use will be for camping down the beach in my SUV ( Padre island National Sea Shore allows 4x4 driving and camping). I will be alone on most trips and down the beach for isolation. The sun gets to be too much. I will need it to cover a chair, side table and Wekapo lounger ( at your suggestion). Will i be happer with a Grande or Giganto? Any suggestions will be appreciated!
I think you will be happier under the Neso Grande. It's 9' x 9', so that should be big enough for your chair, side table, and Wekapo lounger. (Please let me know what you think of the Wekapo once you use it!) Also, I know it gets windy around the Padre Island National Seashore, and the Grande does a better job holding up against the wind.
@@BeachGearGuy Thank you for your advice. I had not thought of the fact that a larger surface would be a larger sail and more difficult in the wind. It almost always has a breeze of 10 to 20 miles an hour, so between you saying the Grade should be plenty big and telling me that the Gigante will blow in the wind more, I am sold. I will be buying from REI so I can return it at any time for a year. Last Neso question. I will be buying extra poles. Do you think buying the Giganto poles would make sense for higher head height (I am almost as tall as you at 6'4") or will the grande be fine? I will let you know about the Wekapo both when I test it in the backyard and (more importantly) when I use it on the beach. I am curious to see how many times I will need to refill the air on a 5-day camping adventure. Thanks again for all of the information and help. Have a blessed week!
Sorry to hear that. The sandbags need to be completely loaded with sand and stretched out, so there's a lot of tension. The Gigante should work in moderate winds if the poles don't snap. Have you watched this video yet? th-cam.com/video/amhTanHD9Sc/w-d-xo.html The Neso Grande is a good choice for a breezy day.
Thanks for commenting! I've read that on their website. Perhaps setting up a canopy beach tent in that order may make more sense on a calm day at the beach. I just set up my new, black Neso Grande yesterday in 25 mile per hour winds and it went up without a hitch. I made my X shape on the beach, filled up the bags, buried the front bags in the sand and then raised up the poles. It was fantastic!
@@BeachGearGuy They are fantastic. Neso told me me that puts less tension on the rods so they don't break. I wonder if on a windy day a combo of both would hold her down and release the tension on the rods when they are all buried. They smaller Nesos we have are easier for sure. The Gigante is a huge and takes some finesse in the wind! 😁
@@dashnja.9202 Yes! The Gigante beach tent is really in a class of it's own and requires more set up time on a windy day. I actually think the Gigante poles need to be made stronger. Between the two, I find that the Neso Grande is more manageable (and more enjoyable) on a windy day.

Sure! Here's my beach chair review from last summer: th-cam.com/video/k1-_HdTp43A/w-d-xo.html
How strong is the tent fabric? I feel like the polls will eventually tear through the fabric???
The Neso fabric is really strong and is made to stretch. I've never had the poles rip through the fabric.
@@BeachGearGuy thank you. Great review!
Thanks!
Have you looked into comparing the Otentik to all these brands?
Thanks for the good question! Yes. I'll be making other canopy beach tent comparison videos down the road. The Otentik Beach Sunshade (which seems to share the same basic design as the ZiggyShade Sun Shade) is on my list. Thanks for the suggestion!
Another great review, you're spot on with these videos happy I'm subbed to you :)
Thanks for the sub...and thanks again for the kind words. I'm glad you enjoy the videos.
Thanks, Tim! If you can wait until Sunday, I'll have the perfect video to answer your question!
Here's the video I was telling you about. Hope it helps you out!

Which one did you end up with? Do you like it?
would this be possible to set up with stakes instead of sand bags?
Edit- Sorry asked to soon
Thanks for the question, though, Chip!
Same thing I experceived with my Neso, spent too much time setting up, even another couple came over to help set up and they said it was a lot if sandbag filling. Some reviews mention the pole buckling in higher winds. I returned mine and will keep looking. I go down on the beach to relax, not maintain a shelter
Thanks for sharing, Dennis. I hope you find a beach shade that works out well for you.
Really enjoy your videos.. BTW what's that beach shoes you have on? they look comfy for the sand my hubby have been looking for something like that.
Thanks! The shoes are comfy. They're called Mishansha Water Shoes. Here's my affiliate link which will take you right to the Amazon page: amzn.to/2ZmnaZX
Could you anchor the Neso on the beach with your orange stakes instead of the sand bags?
It's possible, but they may get yanked out from the tension. Filling up the sand bags on the beach is really the way to go.
Dig a hole in front of the bags and lay the bags in tha hole, that should help keep them in place.
I did that in this video: th-cam.com/video/D7EeD6rs_LM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=E3rva-WYFZjYaHH6
Hey Beach guy. Love the reviews. How can I get you to review my new Tabu tent series.
Thanks Jeffrey! You can send me over your info at beachgearguy@cheerful.com. Please keep in mind that I only review beach products.
New subscriber here. You live in Florida? If so, what beaches can you drive a Jeep on?
Thanks! I love Florida, but I'm actually in New England.
Wish someone would come up with a way to hold it up on a calm day. Would be perfect then.
Hi you, this will help me in Sardinia on Wind beaches. Mauro
Fantastic! Happy to know the video helped you out! They shot my favorite James Bond movie in Sardinia!
I think this is the beach tentI Need.
Thank you for all thi information and comparison
Cool! Please let me know how it works out if you decide to buy it.
@@BeachGearGuy i will.
Cannot get it to stay up in moderate wind. So frustrating.
Osoeri comes with 8 sand bags
Nice work also I'm sued and I liked the vid
Thanks Cousin!
keep up the good work
Thanks!
Do they ever put walls on them? That would be a GameChanger in real life?
They don't have side walls, but it would be interesting to add one with a four-pole setup.
Impressive
Neso suggests fill the bags, raise the poles letting the bags slide in and then bury them.
Buckling failure on the pole
Pain in the ass to set-up
You make your keep look small 😂.
If that broken pole lands in the face of a child its game over. ziggyshade more stable ?
It's pronounced dʒiˈgante just saying 🙂
1km radius to build a tent 😂
Maybe too gigante
👺😼
Subd sorry
"sand gripping" teeth. Lol.
This totally B's, it's a pain in the a$$$$$ to set up
