      You bet! And thank you for making triggers that still work with vintage cameras!!

    Thanks for sharing. Sandra!!!! have a word with yourself - you need to get yourself a new STURDY tripod mount - that thing you have currently is doing a mad rock and roll jive every time you go near it. Best wishes Stu

    Great video, does the camera need to be on a specific speed are will it fire on all speeds, please?

    Love. This! How would I do it if I'm using Godox strobes?

    My Lubitel 166B does this too! With no batteries, I assume the shutter is just shorting the contacts, and accepting whatever voltage comes from my flash unit.

    Do you use automatic flash exposure?

    I would love to know how you meter for taking flash portraits. Just bought my first TLR and interested in doing flash portraits so would love to learn.

      You need a digital light meter. Look for a used Sekonic on eBay.

    Great video Sandra! Thank you so much! Can you use 2 strobes with it or can I see some of your pictures with this set up of just one light? I would love to have a lok at the results. ))

      @SandraCoan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can totally use two lights. Just make sure each light has a receiver!

    I have a Yashica D TLR, the "poor man's" version of your Rollei. I have to say it is easily my favorite MF camera. So light, so small, and I love the square format! I just wish it had a 2.8 on it :-).

    • @SandraCoan
      @SandraCoan  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those Yashicas are great little cameras! But yes, the 2.8 is nice!

    Hello, thanks for the video. What's the sync speed for the rolleiflex?

    • @SandraCoan
      @SandraCoan  หลายเดือนก่อน

      The rolleiflex is a leaf shutter, so it has no sync speed! 🙌🏻

      @SandraCoan thanks for the response, which rolleiflex camera would you recommend? There are many models. I hope to use it in a studio like yourself.

    I’ve been struggling to find a cable that fits in 100%, it still works, it just feels very unsecure , any tips??

    I just purchased a Rolleiflex 3.5B (MX-EVS) and want to try it out with a Nikon flash. I purchased a Hot shoe mount I can mount on my flash bracket that facilitates a Nikon Flash, it has a short PC cord built in to the hot shoe mount that can plug into the camera. If I put the camera in "X" sync mode and set the flash manually should it work? Does it matter what voltage is used to fire the flash?

  • @Stewz66
    @Stewz66 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Suppose I wanted to trigger another camera from the sync port. So my wireless transmitter would actually be triggering another camera. That camera would have a wireless remote mounted on it and it would fire the strobes. Does this sync port fire when the shutter opens on the TLR? Or does it fire right before the shutter closes?

    Hi. What kind of sync cord did you use on this video? Thanks

  • @anta40
    @anta40 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What kind of PC sync cable is that? I bought 2 (3.5mm and 2.5mm to males), and none of them screwed properly on my Rollei 2.8E?

  • @csselement
    @csselement 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Are you mounting on a light stand? 😆 There’s one more detail that will make or break flash sync on Rolleis. You need to switch the flash sync mode to the proper type (M or X) or else sync will fail. X is for modern flashes and indicated by the lightning bolt icon on the 2.8 Rollei models.

    Hi Sandra, I'm a Rolleiflexer as well. Which specific model of Pocket Wizard do you use please? Thanks, Clint

    • @SandraCoan
      @SandraCoan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Clint, I use the Plus X They work great with all of my vintage film cameras!

  • @drae851

    I noticed that the first cord you put in locked and the second one did not. I am having trouble with a hot shoe pc cord I just got (I use it on a bracket). It just won't stay connected to the flash connection on the Rolleiflex. Keeps falling out. Any advice?

    What is the maximum shutter speed for flask sync? It should be all the way up to 1/500th since there is no mechanism to get out of the way?

    • @garvinkelly
      @garvinkelly 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      leaf shutters sync at every speed

    Is there a way to fire multiple strobes or limited to one?

    • @SandraCoan
      @SandraCoan  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      yes! You can totally fire multiple strobes. You can link them together by having them all on the same channel as your trigger!

    Hola Sandra buenos días! Desearia preguntar, que marca y modelo de receptor y emisor, son los que usas. Ultimamente estoy complicado con una mamiya. Con la rollei y el cable sincro no tengo problemas. Agradeceria, si pudieras ser tan amable en brindarme esa información. Desde ya muchisimas gracias!!!

    What camera settings are you using? I am using a yashica 635 and did some photos with a strobe, thought I was doing it right and none of my photos came out. Only the photos with natural light on the same film roll developed.

    Is there a shutter speed sync limit with this camera? I know if you have a Hasseblad with the leaf shutter there are no sync limits but I'm not sure how other medium format cameras handle this. Thank you.

    • @anta40
      @anta40 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Rolleiflex also uses leaf shutter like the Hasselblad, and it's max shutter speed is also 1/500.

    Thank you for the tip! In your experience is there any truth to the theory that using your flash attached directly to the hot shoe will damage it?

    • @SandraCoan
      @SandraCoan  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope... that is what hot shoes were made for!

    Hi Sandra, I just seen your video on how to connect your Rolleiflex to a strobe, and was wondering if your Rolleiflex is a 2.8f or a 3.5?

    If a person don’t know how to sync a camera to a studio strobe they shouldn’t be taking photos!
