    Thanks for putting stuff out on S197. Seems like hard to get stuff for them and don’t see much. Have a 2006 since brand new. Thank you.

    best thing you can do to a 3v is cam, tune, intake, bigger radiator, lowering springs, exhaust and wheels. they are known to overheat.

    When installing lowering springs of course you need an adjustable panhard bar , as you said , but you didn't mention a camber kit for the front . Talking about the best way to fill the wheel wells is bigger wheels when tires are actually the only thing that does that and you can't fill the wheelwells without it changing your gear ratio .

    My recomendation for actual street driving: 1.Aluminum Drive shaft, 2. Upper+lower controll arms , 3. Whatts-Link, 4. Headers and catback, 5. Performance springs.

    I had a feeling #1 was going to be a supercharger kit. Doing a coyote swap could be cheaper and a more reliable option if you have a 3v.

    • @mustang8206

    I've had every gen since 2000. My favorite-S197. That is even after I had a 2018 Shelby gt350. I just couldn't like it. I tried. The S550 drove too nice, the body lines were ok. I have a 2012 Shelby gt500, Sterling gray metallic with silver OTP stripes, a 3.2 Kenne Bell, 20 in. Shelby Razor gunmetal and the nitto staggered set up. I enjoy it immensely. Cool vid. Thx. To top it off, I've never seen another one in the wild. It's a vert speedster also. I know, a vert? I live a mile from the ocean. I tracked my 350 which was insane but too infrequently as the closest track is 6 hours.

    • @sergiomurillo9930
      @sergiomurillo9930 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Don't like the S550's either. The S197's are the best looking generation and the last to look like a mustang. Anything after that has been dumpster fire.

    I just got a steeda 1pc aluminum driveshaft ordered for my mint 12k mile 2012 GT (Kona Blue) 5.0 6speed. Trying to decide on what exhaust to get now. It currently has some kind of x pipe and a corsa Xtreme axle back but it's too tame for me (although it does sound great). Thinking of the flow master outlaw full cat back. Also looking to get the steeda lowering springs and adjustable panhard bar and just installing all this stuff at 1 time. After that I think I'll be done with the car. Don't wanna go overboard on a perfect 12k mile car. Although, at first I kept saying that the 412 horsepower coyote had more than enough power for me but after a year of ownership and 1500 miles on the car I think I'm starting to doubt that statement.

    You said the older 197’s came with 18 and 19 inch wheels from the factory, but was that just for the V-8 or the V6? I ask because my 05’ v6 came with 16s on it. So what can I get away with on my 197 for street driving (somewhat aggressive)?

    • @steedaautosports
      @steedaautosports  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For the '05-'09s the V6 came with 16s standard and 17s as an option. With the S197s, you can fit up to a 20" wheel perfectly fine. If you don't want to go that aggressive, a 19" is a great all around size for street driving that also fills up the wheel well a bit better. See pics of both 19s and 20s on our Yellow S197 here -> www.steeda.com/trident-wheel-breakdown

    • @AnthonyWrenn
      @AnthonyWrenn 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey thanks for the quick response! Is there any tire rub with the 20” going over bumps or when banking curves hard?
      The only thing I think that would change for me is taking the splash guards off without having to take the wheel off👍🏼

    But what causes the damn knocking sound that is so prevalent on these older s197?? I had put GT500 strut mounts, new struts lowering springs and anti-sway bars and end link kits. Plus lower ball joints and STILL have that knocking sound when turning right then gets worse as the car has run 20mins or more. What could be the cause???? I tried everything in the forums. Ford house cant find anything, performance mustang shops says its normal? Brakes plus cant find it....man what gives?? It is not normal at all.

    I have a Paxton on my 3v and it's kinda useless doesn't do anything till 4k by 6k it's over never really get to use it on the Street. Why any different with the coyote? Lacks low end torque and all you get is a additional 1k rpm which takes even longer to hit mac boost
