Hello, the tire sizes that come with the performance pack are the widest that we would recommend on the factory wheels. If you aren't planning to race the car on track, there really isn't a reason to go with a square setup, staggered would be the way to go. Obviously the style and diameter is up to you, but either a 19x10/19x11 or 20x10/20x11 would be able to fit a 275 wide tire up front and 315 in the rear. As for the brakes, because you already have the Brembos, the best way would be to remove them or take the car to a paint shop to be professionally painted.

I have a 2014 mustang V6 automatic. I want to do 11 inch rims all the way around or maybe 11.5 rear 11 in the front. Whats the offset that I need? Also I'm not going to lower it and I actually want them to stick out a little. I like that look.
Great video. I’m originally a mopar guy that’s switching over to a 2024 Mustang GT…I’m a huge rim and tire guy and know tons of info on wheels and tires. But I want to go 21 inch on the S650…lowered on Steeda springs. Can you recommend a good set up. Widths and offsets and tire sizes?…I don’t want a poked look…I want it sitting just at the fender or a little under…..not sure if I should go with a square set up. Or staggered…any info would be appreciated. Thanks
We typically see only up to a 20" wheel on the Mustang so we can't give exact sizes for a 21", but up front a 20x10 with a +34mm offset on a 275/35R20 tire and in the rear a 20x11 with a +52mm offset on a 305 or 315/35R20 fits perfect. What the best wheel and tire set up for 06 mustang gt mostly looking for street performance, I live in California by West coast don't know if that makes a difference on weather conditions
Chris I saw the pics on Flikr of what I believe is your new Dark Horse. What are the wheel specs on your car? I have the handling package as well and was thinking about Velgen wheels. Is your vehicle lowered?
I'm looking for the best wheel tire combination for the rear of my 2020 GT pp1 for the drag strip only. What's the recommendation with that? I have different tires for the street, so this is drag strip only.
We obviously love the Billet Specialties because they have the best fitment. Other brands tend to stick out and rub on the fenders. We run a 17x10 that has a 7.5" backspacing. For tires we use a 305/45R17 Mickey Thompson ET Street R. On the 2018 Silver Bullet we run a 315/50R17 with that same wheel.
I have a question on lowering springs. I have 20 inch wheels 265/35/20 front and 305/35/20 back. Which lowering springs would I need for my wheels to be flush and not tucked?
I have a 2018 Mustang Ecoboost that came with 17's. Does anyone have a recommendation of a set up for a "meaner stance"? I think I would prefer a square set up so I can rotate the tires.
What about 20” wheels but go roll forge/flow formed, or fully forged, you’d get the benefit of larger contact patch and less rotational mass surely? Also is it necessary to keep the overall tire width the same when going 20”? There’s room in those wheel arches.
Of course, that's always an option! But if you go fully forged 18" or 19" that's still less rotating mass than a fully forged 20" :) All the wheels mentioned in this video are already flow formed which help quite a bit with weight while keeping price in-check. Hope this helps! -Chris

For a 20" wheel we typically see +37 for a 10in width and +53 for an 11in width. If you want to go 19" squared, you're able to go up to 11" all around with that +53 offset. You will just need to run a 1" spacer up front. Or if you do want to stick to a 10in width, then somewhere around +35 to +37 would work. You can find some pictures of a Mach 1 with that fitment here -> www.steeda.com/trident-wheel-breakdown#photos
I want to run velgens vf5 20 inch rims on my 22 Mach 1. I’m gonna run a 275/35 up front and a 315/35 in the back. But I have no clue what offset I should run.
Velgen has plenty of experience with the Mustang and all of Velgen's wheels on our site are already sized with Mustang-specific fitments. Up front a 20x10 +34 and in the rear a 20x11 +55 with those tire sizes will fit perfectly on a Mach 1. www.steeda.com/velgen-vf5-2010-11-gbl-s550-s197-gloss-black-staggered-wheel-package

I need to find a better looking wheel keeping the same size rim/tires but lighter in weight. So I could use some assistance if you know of a lighter wheel that what comes with the Dark Horse. Thanks Chris‼️👍💪😎🛞🇺🇸
Hi there! Thanks for the kind words. I'd look into Apex wheels if I were you. On the 2024s, you won't be able to fit anything smaller than a 19" wheel if you have the Brembos. With that said, you have a few options from Apex Wheels. In their flowform lineup, you can go with a 19x11 ET52 all the way around with a 1" spacer up front - allowing you to run a 305 or 315 square. Their EC-7 in that size comes in at 24.5 lbs. I'm not sure what the new Dark Horse Handling Pack wheels weigh, but the S550 GT Performance Package wheels weigh 33 lbs for comparison. -Chris www.steeda.com/apex-race-parts
hello very informative video! Im looking around for a wheel and tire setup currently I have a mustang ecoboost with oem 18 inch wheels. I would love to go with 19 inch wheels preferably what you mentioned in the video 19x10 with 275-35 tires front and 19x11 with 305-35 tires in the rear . I was wondering if there would be any issues if I ran that set up on my ecoboost? is there a difference between the mustang gt that factors into running this set up or will I be able to run this set up on my eco boost? Also I got a bit confused when you mentioned that the speedometer measures off the rear wheel what did you mean by that and will that be something I need to look out for?
All of this info is for the EcoBoost as well! If you have the performance package, you would have the 13.9" brakes from a GT, but you're wanting 19s so clearance is not an issue regardless. For the speedometer, if the overall height of your 19" wheels and tires are taller than factory, then you will be driving slightly faster than what your speedometer is reading. You want to get a tire with a smaller sidewall as close to the factory height. There are tire size calculators online you can use with your factory size to see what you would need to match with a 19". Alternatively, if you have a tuning device you should be able to input a new tire size and the speedometer will account for that.
I see now I understand clearly! I will try to find a tire close to the oem wheel sidewall so I don’t mess with the speedometer thank you for responding and helping me out it’s much appreciated!
If you have an S550, you can't go wrong with our Sport Progressive springs and a set of 20" wheels to get rid of that wheel well gap. www.steeda.com/steeda-mustang-progressive-sport-lowering-springs_555-8210
@@steedaautosports I have another issue. Will my magnaride be affected by going to a 20 inch rim. I have the performance pack on a 2023 Mustang. Please help me.
I went the custom wheel route, which means Billet Specialties forged rims. 19x10 front and 19x11 rear. By going forged , the numbers were pretty shocking. Factory 19x9 1/2 rear with only a 275 Perelli tire weighed 65+ lbs. 19x11 with 325 Continentals weighed 54 lbs. I'm sure the fronts were a lot lighter. 19x10 with 285 Perelli. Now these wheels were expensive but the look and the custom back spacing, combined with custom powder coat,, did the trick for me. Also custom wheel size meant no spacers needed. This is all on a stock PP S550. I was told that GT350 front fenders are wider which would allow a 305 tire. Please comment if true.. Good video, thx
That sounds awesome! And yes, the GT350 fenders are a bit wider. So if you want perfect fitment, it'll require a slightly different offset wheel. Hope this helps! -Chris
When did 'style' become more important than a smoother ride quality? I'm sticking with the 18s it came with, I want more air in my tires for a better daily ride. 20s just make the car terrible to ride in.
Did anyone go from 20"s to 18"s? Please, tell me your experience. I got a 2nd hand 2017 S550 GT. These come standard with the performance package's suspension here in Europe. The thing is the former owner put some cool 20"s and, while I like how they look in the car A LOT, the ride is way too... "detailed", meaning you can feel every imperfection on the road. Would it help if I went from 20"s to 18"?
From 2005-2024, you can follow all the same advice for wheel fitment, what works on an S550 fits the same as on S197. One thing to note is if your car is lowered, you might need an adjustable panhard bar as the rear solid axle does shift over when lowered.
20" wheels look great but have a harsh ride unless your roads are flat and smooth. Where I live the roads suck so honestly I won't go larger than a 19" wheel.

@@steedaautosports thank you so much for responding once again. I really like the nitro tires as Iwill only drive on sunny days. I love the rims you suggested as well . this will mean a lot more meat in the rear concerned about tires sticking out too far in the rear quarters. Would it be a good idea or would it look foolish to put a real small mud guard on the car to prevent rock chips?? I know that’s personal preference but could you offer me an opinion? Thanks again Dave
I have a 2014 mustang V6 automatic. I want to do 11 inch rims all the way around or maybe 11.5 rear 11 in the front. Whats the offset that I need? Also I'm not going to lower it and I actually want them to stick out a little. I like that look.
Love those 19". Wonder how they would look on a 2005 Sonic Blue Roush with silver stripes??? Weekend driver. No track time...
Unless you're going to track the car we'd recommend a staggered setup. Here's pictures of an S650 on our Sport Progressive springs with that wheel setup -> www.flickr.com/photos/chriscervenka/albums/72177720311322302
@@steedaautosports ok great. I saw those pics of that white Mustang with the Velgens. It looks really nice. And thanks for providing the wheel and tire specs. I ran 22x11 square set up on my widebody challenger. It looked so good…I love larger wheels. It’s just my preference…I’m going to figure out a 21 inch set up…
What the best wheel and tire set up for 06 mustang gt mostly looking for street performance, I live in California by West coast don't know if that makes a difference on weather conditions
Which lowering springs would I need for my wheels to be flush and not tucked?
did you figure it out ? did they tuck ?
What’s offsets for 19 staggered setup
-Chris
How can i run a 19 on the front without a spacer?
My 2022 Roush Mustang with the 3rd Pedal 6 Speed Manual Transmission. Came with the
16.5 inch Rotors & Footlong Brembo Calipers therefore, it needed 20" inch wheels to accommodate the clearance on the Calipers . By the way it is also S/N22.0001.450R
Whats the best offsets for a Mach 1 in 20 staggered (10,11), and in 19 squared (9.5, or 10)
For a 20" wheel we typically see +37 for a 10in width and +53 for an 11in width.
275/35/19
19.10 Front
305/35/19
19.11 Rear
What’s the offset?
What's the biggest size tire I can go on a 10 inch rim in the back... I have a 2012 shelby gt500 it has the sVt package witch lowering springs
Chris excellent video as always!!!! I am waiting for my Dark Horse to be built. I ordered it on 6 April. I optioned for the Handling Package which comes with 19x10.5 front rims & 19x11 Rears; tires 305/30R19 front & 315/30R19 with the Trofeo RS track tires. I need to find a better looking wheel keeping the same size rim/tires but lighter in weight.
Been looking at the Trident rims but I am searching for lighter wheels to lessen the fat weight on the car. I found out that I saved 36 pounds by ordering the Recaro seats over the leather heated/cooled seats.
-Chris

hello very informative video!
Deep dish can you put on mustang 2020
Can anyone help me out I have a 2012 Mustang Coyote what's the best tire size I can Equip to the vehicle staggered wise
18 in front 18 in back 255/45 and 305/45 best i found
So 18 x 10.5 inch with ET+48 would clear the GT350 four piston rear caliper?
That's dependent on the wheel spoke and barrel clearance. There aren't many 18" wheels that will clear that caliper/rotor, unfortunately. -Chris
What would be the ideal offset for a flush fitment on a 19x10 wheel square setup?
For a 19x10 we typically see wheels range from +37 to +40 offset
I just want to close as much wheel well gap as possible. Tell me the best way to do that without modding too much.
Anyone know if 20s fit on the new edge mustang?
What 18” wheel spec would you suggest for a 2007 mustang
-Chris
How about a mustang running 22" - ?
I drive with no lug nuts to save on rotating mass .
So, huge balls. but no nuts? You must be a center lock kinda guy!
Ok but what about the 2011 mustang gt???
When did 'style' become more important than a smoother ride quality? I'm sticking with the 18s it came with, I want more air in my tires for a better daily ride. 20s just make the car terrible to ride in.
Is it crazy to run 18s on a daily ?????
Not at all! The Mustang comes with 18s from the factory, plus you'll get some added fuel economy with less rotating mass.
Def
19s do good on mine
@@shannonpatrick77 Thank you. That's the final decision most likely.
@@nogroup5861 Wise choice
@@nogroup5861did you go 18s or 19s? I’m in the same predicament. I have 20s and wanna go 18 or 19
Just because you say 20” looks the best doesn’t mean it looks the best, personally and I speak for many others A drag pack by far looks the best
What about a v6 05 mustang
From 2005-2024, you can follow all the same advice for wheel fitment, what works on an S550 fits the same as on S197. One thing to note is if your car is lowered, you might need an adjustable panhard bar as the rear solid axle does shift over when lowered.
@steedaautosports ok bc I was wondering if I could fit a 17 inch wheel on my stock mustang which came with 15 inch wheels (the p4 wheels)
18?
Size dosen't matter as long as they look like K-Mart hubcaps. Gotta be a step lip wheels if you're talking about the looks.
Never run spacers...lol.
The best size are the ones that come with the car
