  • The documentary about the Icelandic strongman, Jón Páll Sigmarsson, will soon be released in the USA. The movie is called "Þetta Er Ekkert Mál" in Iceland but overseas it's called "Larger Than Life".
It has already been released in Europe and the company who distributes the film, Sena, says that the film will soon come to the States.
To celebrate, I uploaded this scene from the film and I hope that you will buy the film after having watched this. Here you can see Geoff Capes, Bill Kazmaier talk about Jón Páll. Also the strongman referee, David Webster gives his opinion. But the big part is from Dr. Douglas Edmunds where he talks about the competition for the Strongest Man Of All Time back in 1987.
You can contact the company who made the movie, Goðsögn Films:

    jon pall
the GREATEST strenght athlete of the modern era.
his charisma charm and pleasant manor had made him a croud favorite wherever he went.
my father was a neighbour of geoff capes and geoff told him once that jon did knew that he will die young but despite that he set himself a goal to do whatever he wants to do in life and to fully enjoy the time that is left for him to live.
he is an idol for many people in the world me included and he will always be remmembered.
    RIP jon pall

I would've liked to have seen it with all of them at their peaks, but I do agree that they are the 3 greatest strongmen ever.

You can watch some bodybuilding parts of Jón Páll in the video "best of john pall". There you can see him back in 1988. It begins after 1 minute and 10 seconds. It's from the documentary about Jón Páll.

it would be interesting to see where between 1982 and 1988 Sigmarsson surpassed Kazmaier i think Kazmaier had a few more wins in him much respect to both men though

He had a heart defect, was born with it. He tore an artery in his heart while training and died.

There are videos in which they have said that there is good reason to believe that Kaz's mother was Native American

@kalai131 I am thinking it is because a muscle bound human is seen as a threat to the average joe out there, hence the hating, i hear a quote from a famous politician, who says "a person's true power is by how many people hate him not how many who love him." Every great bodybuilder has always said "Loved by women and children, and scorned with jealousy and hate from the average man." An average man is always jealous of a muscle bound man of strength because it exposes their own insecurities.

And the response was directed at the acusations of Puj being on roids. They are all on roids. It wasn't an attack on JP as much as a defense of Puj. Deal with it.

@quadcatfly nope he had a genetic condition to make such a thing happen! but on more important note, i know this is american website, but think about this, whenever a girl has a video showing off her body, or strength, physique, everyone says cool, wonderful, etc. why is it when a guy does the same, esp. of world class athlete like Jon Pall everyone is hating and saying crazy stuff, i don't see neg. comments on deaths of Nascar/Grandprix race drivers, a far more risky sport in terms of death!

He never tested positive as he refused to take the drug test. But of course he was juicing. Just like all the strongmen.

Try avoiding ad hominen attacks. It makes you look like a fool. Regardless of what I can do, JPS was juicing. My numbers are irrelevant to the point pal.
