I'm approaching 10k hours in game but watching and learning from you and seeing the game from your point of view is great! Enjoying the content very much. 👍
Same number of hours here. Always fun to see someone new experiencing the game for the first time, and discovering all the negative nellies out there are so wrong about this game.
Virtually any device that is recognized by windows as an input device can be used to control the game. ED will auto detect the input device. ED has defaults for e.g. various HOTAS.
I'd love one of these but I just dropped 200+ on a HOTAS so I'll have to save up a bit for this. Wonderful immersion improvement just being able to look out the window or through the glass floor of some cockpits.
Yeah, ED supports all of this. head-tracker or eye-tracker make such a big difference. You can download free camera-based trackers as well. Works very well. I own a DIY EDtracker. Next level is VR.
Some ships do have external visibility down the bottom of the cockpit, so you may want to look down there eventually. The krait phantom and mk2, and most lakon ships (except the diamonbacks) are some examples.
Great video! I just started to play Elite and was wondering the same thing, how do I use Tobii, so far Elite is very interesting. I am enjoying learning a new space sim again. Coming from Star Citizen sure has helped speed up the learning curve.
FYI: If you want a (another) space ship game (to check out) then I can suggest X4: Foundations. Depending on your start and DLC it will start you on a starter ship. But you may end up owning and controlling your own fleets (including capital ships, carriers), your own space stations and sectors. No rush, just a suggestion as not many people have heard of this game.
Thank you for the wonderful suggestion, actually I've purchased that game as well during 4th July sale and planning to do videos on that as well, but ED got me amazed for the moment...lol
Hey, great video made it super easy to setup. I just got a tobii tracker 5 myself and couldn't figure out how to get it to work with Elite. One question though: I'm running at 144 fps in game, so without the tracker on its obviously very smooth when using a headlook with the mouse or a controller. But with the tracker, it seems like the headlook movements aren't as smooth. Almost like its moving the camera at a much lower framerate than what I'm used to. There is an option within Elite for "Headlook smoothing" but that doesn't seem to do much. Have you come across some other settings that have effected the smoothness of the headlook while using a headtracker? (I have also used a TrackIR and had the same issue. So, not like this is unique to the tobii)
hi, After seeing this videos on youtube, i have linked the game and make a profile but when i start the game, gamehub show a "running " message but in bottom on th windows app i can read in french (unable to follow game window) impossible de suivre la fenêtre de jeu???? And that's all, the game works but no eye traker in it. any idea of What to do?
Do I need a screen on whole the wall for this device? Because for my 17 inch laptop screen it looks useless - if I rotate head I will not see the screen.
Hey, I have attempted to contact you multiple times in the game but to no avail. Please let me know if you are up for some co-op play / guidance or not. Thanks P/s soz for repeated msg

@@Sighman may not be a perfect game but I love it 👍
Seeing this gentleman learn and make observations is giving me a new perspective.
Thanks for this. I'm so frustrated with SC right now it's pushing me back to ED. As a proud T5 owner, using it in ED is absolutely required.

Oh cool - glad you set up head tracking - adds so much to the game exprience. Other alternatives are TrackIR and you can also just use a webcam.

I see, still need to play around with the settings. Thx!
Useful Video!

Speaking of ship maneuverability, the Elite has a flightassist button. Turning it on and off can help a lot))
Got it
Have you considered VR for Elite Dangerous?
Do I need a screen on whole the wall for this device? Because for my 17 inch laptop screen it looks useless - if I rotate head I will not see the screen.
I have a 55'' screen and I tape tobii under the monitor and you can adjust the angle for the mount of tobii which comes with it.
I use a similar setup on my simrig. What I've done is turn a small head movement into a big movement of the camera.
A good HOTAS would be great and you will get a real sim feeling.
Does the older Tobii 4C eye tracker still work in Elite Dangerous 2024?
you can't access the bottom panel with that down pitch limit, which is important for exploration
