    Seems odd that that one woman was so uncomfortable accepting the gift. I could maybe see if some guy came up to her live and said, "Here, I'll pay for this for you", that she'd be uneasy. But for someone leaving it advance to whoever the next customer is? Doesn't seem creepy. By the way a few years ago around Christmas time in a store took out a $10 bill and said, "I got this." I was at the counter and the charge was $8.70. I said, "Oh no, you don't have to do that, sir." He said, "I know, but I just want to. Merry Christmas." How bout that!

    • @Ziffel67
      @Ziffel67 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      I meant to say "some guy" next to me at the counter offered to pay it for me. I botched that in typing, sorry. And don't see an edit option so I replied.

      Many years ago my mom was waiting to pay at the grocery store when a man behind her in line, with some things under his jacket, offered to "pay" for her things. She was not at all comfortable with it and declined.

      Agreed on the lady that wouldn't accept it. She could have just said "I really don't need it so just use it for the next person". Sometimes I just really don't understand people. God bless you on choosing to bless someone at Christmas. I'm sure it made their day!

    I live in in rural Australia and at my local hospital the shop there has a ‘buy a coffee for someone who is having a bad day”. My mum was dying and I went to get a coffee and was told it was free due to this. I was so touched I burst into tears.

    Sad that so many felt uncomfortable with this. This should be more of the norm than a surprise or unexpected. I have paid for someone's groceries before and it truly was the best feeling. I know it helped them but it sure helped me as well. I realize that not everyone can afford to do something like that but there are many ways to pay it forward or to bless someone. Any act of kindness can really make someone's day. God bless!!!

    I already thought about what I would do before watching. I would not accept the gift but would ask that it be given to a person who needs it after me. Something similar happened to me and that is what I did. I don't feel comfortable with receiving gifts but am fine with giving to someone else.

    • @peterwillson1355

      It is easier to give than to receive. Try challenging yourself.

    • @islandgal500

      @@peterwillson1355 It is a different time now and we can't just believe what everyone is telling us. People in cities can't even safely answer their door anymore. Or you get seemingly harmless questions over the phone that could compromise your personal information and accounts. There is sometimes a hidden agenda and I'm in my 70s so gears are turning slower now. I am not in need of financial gifts and it would be a waste to pass this on to me. I'd much rather someone who needs it gets it.
      I have accepted things that I do not want or need to 'please' someone else. It then backfires on me when these people expect that I will then give them what they do want that can be a hardship for me to do for them in exchange. It would be more honest to just ask me for the help as I will give it. It winds up being a little deceptive with the unwanted 'barter' item. Even with this skit, the money gift is not free because then you get the guilt trip of having to leave money for the next person. I don't like it when folks take something simple and complicate it! I did like the skit though, but don't want to experience these things in real life. Too many people out there waiting to scam you and we should not be complacent enough to fall for them.

      Since it is MORE BLESSED to give than to receive, you sometimes have to accept a gift graciously, so that the giver gets THEIR blessing. The giving of a gift to a stranger is a very loving thing to do, since nothing could be given in return. You can't buy love because it's priceless.

    Of course, this all balances out, with all the shifting of paying for the person behind you. If it was me accepting the gift from the person in front of me, I would load up my car with 1,000 books on their dime and sell them on eBay. :)

    There have been times at the end of the month that I forgot to check my Debit Card to see how much was left. I would come up short & someone in line noticed & paid the balance. Half of those times they wouldn't take the change. I ALWAYS took it and thanked the gifter.
