I love how this song has a carnival theme to it, and the joy and merriment is soon gone with the theme of this song. Time is fleeting and it will leave us all to soon.
My parents used to listen to the original from Manu Chao. As the years passed by and I was no longer a child, I forgot about it. But it was stuck somewhere in my memory, waiting to be unlocked for later. Then I decided to watch BB recently, and thanks to that, I'm reunited with both the original and this excellent cover. Thanks for that, Waltuh.

Just heard this song on the radio and was thinking it sounded familiar, sounds like The Passenger by Iggy Pop but knew it wasn't the reason why I knew it. Turns out it's from Mt previous addiction to Crysta...actually not that but very close!
Started watching Breaking Bad for the first time ever this past month & finished the very 4th episode last night. Love the tracks at the end of each episode so far, but this one at the end of the pilot is the most enjoyable of the ones I’ve heard so far! 😙
Mick Harvey is one of the greatest artist ever ! So glad this song has been made popular thanks to breaking bad but if you like it please check more of his stuff . He is a legend
@Amanda Acevedo hate to break it to you, but this song is not his. The original is by a fantastic band Mano Negra, they don't exist anymore, but check them out. You may be familiar with their member who went forth as Manu Chao after they disbanded.

@@amandaacevedo_6 thanks for clarifying. No, you've not said it. But, by describing Mick as "one of the best artists ever", "a legend", etc, and by mentioning the Breaking Bad series *but not* the original author, it made it seem as if you were implying that Mick was the original author. Anyway, good luck to Mick and you (since you work together) on your future projects. I just thought that the original author, Mano Negra (it was a fantastic band) and in particular Manu Chao, who wrote it, deserved a mention as well when talking about this great song.
@@SpartanThe300th of course I understand and respect that and the original song , but Mick is Indeed in my opinion one of the greatest musicians and arrangers out there , being founding member of "Nick Cave and the Bad seeds" , arranger for PJ Harvey and producer for Rowland S Howard etc who are truly brilliant artist and Mick's help in their career was fundamental. Mick transforms songs in a beautiful way and takes them to a different place . Which is what we have been doing together lately. But of course he never intends to ignore the importance of the original versions , he usually covers artists he truly respects and calls his versions "an interpretation" more than a cover , so it's a rendition and his own feel into the songs , he translated many Serge Gainsbourg songs into English and did a fantastic work . So yeah I admire him very much and I think he deserves recognition and support which I always try to provide .
