    That's an awesome tip. I though about a four axle truck before. But every solution I found included new chassis rails. I' m really looking forward to your next cideo about it.

      Unfortunately most custom builds require new rails, the grand hauler is perfect for the additional drive axle, however if you wanted a euro truck.. that would require new rails too as the cabs and suspension is mounted different 👍👍

    Scotty... Can't believe I've been enjoying your channel for over 9 years!!! I still go back and reference older videos like this. I'm going to be doing a Tri-Drive Globe Liner soon, and this is still relevant and very helpful!!

      Wow, thanks for your continued support, I'm currently just building a 1/24 nascar in my own time to find my mojo again to get back into the trucks.
      Glad the video is of use and good luck with the globeliner buddy 🙂

      @scotty555babe I haven't bought one yet but my brother has one..........for me I like the smaller sleeper..........also this truck looks great in white.........just in case you get the reefer trailer or a dry van trailer..........the wider sleeper might get in the way of it turning..........as I said I don't have one yet.........the tri-drive set up is super cool........when you said air suspension set up are you going to go 4 or 8 bag??? I have watched a couple videos on that too.........very cool trucks you have..........hopefully I will get one of my own.........

    Love watching your videos….always learn something. Also thinking of a tri-drive at some point….but the tip of turning the cab brackets around will help me with my King Hauler! The bull bar is to low to the ground…by turning the bracket I can lift the cab… will have to do some “engineering” on the front bracket to allow me to lift the bumper to sit flush with the cab again!

    • @scotty555babe
      @scotty555babe  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, I appreciate it and I'm glad you learn stuff, I try and make most things simple and find more cost effective ways of doing things, especially in these times we're living in 😊
      As far as your build and lifting the cab, you would need to separate it from the sleeper and possibly remake another bracket for the bumper as that's mounted on the chassis 😊😊

    That is an awesome model. Job well done, bud👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼! Here is an idea🤔💡💡💡🤔. . . . .put a steerable front drive axle on a truck like on a heavy snowplow truck, an oil field truck, or like on a big heavy crane truck!!! Thankya for sharing your video👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼😃

    • @scotty555babe
      @scotty555babe  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks, it's definitely the most cost effective route and using this method the options are endless, you don't have to have a drive axle, you can add a roller and put a lift on, and you can also swap the double suspension round and add the extra axle setup at the rear and use it as a rear lift axle etc..
      The most expensive part of this mod was the extra complete double drive axle 👍👍
      I hope the video was simple instructions to understand as I remember you saying one time you was curious to see how a tri drive was done 👍👍👍

      @@scotty555babe Very well explained! All I would add, would be stronger Springs in those Shocks on the front Drive...
      Just to keep enough pressure on the Drive Wheels.
      Otherwise it's perfect!!

    Scott one thing I forgotten to ask, do you have any videos of you chopping things like doors on the trucks to make them into working doors? I got a lot of cool ideas, just not sure of putting it into practice. like would like to make working windows in the doors as well, but not sure of the type of lubrication to use, and also how to make the mechanism so that it will work properly, probably be like a window winding handle type of thing I am thinking. so many plans, and definately not going to be done this year if all the plans go ahead, as going to cost quite a pretty penny without the time spent on doing the trucks. also bought off-roader foam to stick in the trucks wheels, and they do seem slightly better now.

    • @scotty555babe
      @scotty555babe  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi I don't have any videos on doors and windows, however it's not a problem to do one..
      All you need is a scriber, some patience and small "dolls house" hinges, I can do a video on another truck to show, on the tri axle build i will be cutting the side windows in half to make the effect they're rolled down..
      Foams in tyres are great for additional performance as the stock Tamiya setup isn't the greatest,
      Enjoy your builds 👍

      @@scotty555babe atm in the purchasing phase, but could easily spend way more than buying a couple of new trucks just on upgrade parts. so having to pace my spending atm. doesn't help already bought a new controller last night even though already decided I had spent enough on parts this month. but the new controller will be way better than the previous one. just got to figure out how or if it is possible to fit the centering spring back into the controller that I am getting as says it is for aircraft. the controller I have ordered is the Goolsky FS-i6X RC Transmitter 2.4GHz 10CH. but yeah be interesting to see working windows on a truck, and what problems I might face when doing it myself.

    Lose the sleeper and put a nice headache rack or a welding setup. Or a crane. That’d be cool. This is a true tri.. the first one you did only had the drop. I like this much better.. the coffin could be cool too. But it doesn’t look bad as is.

    Would this work for an unpowered rear axle as well? I have a twin steer custom build with the normal tamiya double drive rear suspension and I'd like to add a 140mm un powered super single lift axle behind the double drive wheels? So like yours but non driven and axle behind the two drive wheels? Thanks

    • @scotty555babe
      @scotty555babe  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes of course, it would work in any combination as long as you have at least one powered drive axle.

    Do you have trouble with traction? I posted on an FB page about running three drive axles and was told if the ground wasnt perfectly flat id stuggle?

    • @scotty555babe
      @scotty555babe  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's the same with most Tamiya setups really, unless the ground is flat the unlocked diffs are pretty useless regardless of how many axles unless you lock the diffs which I have a video of here using your internal spider gears in the diff so it's totally free..
      I'll possibly be doing that after I've tested this so stay tuned as ill find the best solution all round for this particular setup over the next couple of weeks 👍👍
      I'll also be doing a rug of war against my king hauler with locked diffs and 2 axles against the 3 unlocked.
