Great to see you back at the bench!! Hope you get your roof sorted soon. 😊 44 years in the hobby, you just showed me something new... i never thought of using my third ands for painting fiddly items. 😳 Brilliant!
Hi buddy 🙂 It's nice to be back. Good news, they start the roof on Tuesday.. yaaay, they'd just been super busy and we do have pretty wet summers in England. Third hands are super helpful, I have a box full 😆 I always use them for painting to keep my parts off the surface and for the tiny parts I'll use a small bit of blu tack "poster putty, fun tack" on a cocktail stick or stirrer or something 😀
Thanks Darren. It's nice to be back building again, I have a few lined up and lots of out if the box ideas I'd like to try too, Ive just started collecting parts again to keep the creativity going 🙂
Sounds an interesting customisation, the original Tri-drive all that time ago was, as always good to see.. Good progress with the update, your take on the builds is always informative and interesting.. Well done, and lots of fun to your friend 😊
Hi Scotty. Back in 60s when i hoped off school I worked in a body shop we used paint stopper G8 to fill fine parts all so before you spray put can's in hot water this helps dry quicker 'O' when sanding paint stopper warm with a bit fairy liquid + 1200 sanding paper G8 . Please keep up great work and job regards Peter.
Hi Peter. Thanks for the comment and the tip in regards to the g8 paint stopper, I'll look into that. The paint I always warm up too, it also goes a bit further as it thins when warm and sprays more efficiently. Thanks again buddy 👍
Hi pal. Hope you and the fam are ok. Great to see you back on the builds. How do you cope with spraying in low temps. Do you use a heater in your tent ? or do you just go for it. Are you allowed to show some of the fillers you use as i have never seen the pin hole tube you use ?. All the family keep well and safe. 🤔😁
Hi pal... I'd recently built a concrete slab in the back yard for a large metal shed, so I heat that up before spraying and keep the heater on behind the visqueen which is just there to stol the paint dust going all over my car parts , tools and fishing gear 🙂 I built it for somewhere to spray as its twice the size of my old shed so I now have spray facilities and storage 😅 it was spraying that used to delay my builds as we never get the right conditions so now I have no excuse.. I can show the fillers as I have other projects I'll be doing which require it, the one I use for pin holes is vallejo plastic putty, it's like a resin and dried like concrete when cured which is perfect for those small imperfections 🙂
Thanks for thanks for the replay. I MIGHT TO SELL A COUPLE OF MY TRUCKS SOON. If it is ok can i send you some photos of them. I would rather offer them to you or leyland guys and know they will go to a good home. ?
