  • This 2004 Acura tl overheated then died. Supposedly the valve train is not moving. Let's tear into it and see how bad it is

This is actually helpful since im having the same problem only difference is that my car actually shot up to the point where it over heated and next thing i knew i heard a pop from the water pump and lost all power to engine.. so im actually following your video step by step to see if its fixable.. since every mechanic i talk to want to charge me a whole new engine and labor with out even diagnosing the problem first

No covers as far as I recall, just normal bolts

It is only two bolts holding the power steering hose on and tension clamp. Remove the power steering pump would help make work easier.

That K&N oil filter looks like it’s got tens of thousands of miles on it.

Did you do or check valve lash when taking the heads off?

Yes, I belive I set the valve lash on the bench (heads off), but certainly doable in the car

I had 1 bolt that came out with more oil then the rest does that mean the block is cracked? The car ran on H but never died out.

Sorry I'm just seeing this. I would not be concerned about that. Definitely get the heads resurfaced given it was overheating

Why don't you cover the fenders and the other working areas? I know it an old car but still should take care of it.
