- So in this video i am discussing how to improve at anti-airing and defending against crossup jump attacks. These can be quite hard for many of the newer players to deal with, so i thought it might be a good idea to talk about this topic and present some of the available options.

I didn't know about the crosscut mechanic for Honda. I'd wondered why Honda players anti-aired my crossups with EX Headbutt... Now I know why and can adjust my match-up strategies against Edmond. Many thanks Mura.

I have no problem with normal dp and crosscut dp. However, there are situations whereby opponent jumps which land directly on top of me, which if i try to block he will land on the front. But if i try to dp, opponent will actually land behind me and my dp will whiff. This is because dp has a forward movement which basically change the positions of the two characters in that instant. How do i deal with it? I tried to delay my dp but if opponent does the jumping attack early it will hit me before i get to dp. Not sure if its character specific base on the hitboxes, but this happens alot using ken's mp dp vs chunli's jump hk.
That is actually why Ken have a harder time with this than Ryu. Ryu's EX DP hits directly above his head so he have all the angles covered, Ken have it harder certainly cause he moves forward like you said. He even have harder cross cut DPs imo.
The problem with the crosscut ex headbutt certain jumps ins lk like sakura and kolin well go through that armor so it better for normal crosscut just have to delayed it little thecomebackkid really good with anti air and crosscut headbutts
I have a decision question for you: If you're Juri, and you have the opponent cornered, if they try to jump over you, would your rather jamp back and air throw them back into the corner and keep them cornered? Or would you rather crosscut or autocorrect DP and have that invincibility and then oki afterwards?
Jump back air throw cause you get to keep them in the corner i would say.
What about walk under option and meaty when they land?
It works but the viability highly depend in your character's walkspeed.
However, there is one thing I'd like to know about G ( he's my second character ) : how to add the third hit during his V-TRIGGER ( when you do DP ) ? I really want to know how to perform it !!!

When I tried shoto i thought i went dp when I was crunching with input of 1212, wonder if that could work on cross up

For a cross cut, your best bet would be to mash 1313

I'm crying as a poison main rn. He c.mp was the best thing on but now it feels garage. People just jump on me for fun and it's frustrating
get a shoto and learn cross cut, more rewarding than a broken normal

Try to play from outside of the st.HP range, walk back and cr.MP or jump back air MP.
I main Poison too and its a habit that will take some time to get break out of, but we still have options.

Do you know if Alex's air knee grab thing can be used as a crosscut?
You can technically but Alex's is invincible to air attack from frame 5, so you are venerable to losing or trading. Shotos and attacks like Mika's EX wingless work cause they are inv from frame 1. So they will never trade with an aerial attack before hitting.

@@Serph2006 Yeah, i think st.HP hits above his head as well, but if the jump is deeper than that, then yeah, certainly jump back air to air.
I have seen players starting to use V-shift to evade tricky ambiguous jump so that might be a part of the meta going forward.
As an Abigail player, I love it when people jump on me. I even have my own tagline: "Acting like you ain't gonna get parried." I made that up myself.
How is his jab AA after the patch btw ?

Stand block the tatsu to reduce it's plus frames, usually when crouched blocked it's +3 in Dan's favor but standing makes it vary between 0 to +2 and sometimes in your favor and since dan has garbage startups and no 3f normals some characters can contest him better than others. If he whiffs a standing heavy kick just jump on him that thing has so much recovery even my grandma can whiff punish it and lastly keep an eye if he chose vskill2.

Can you go over how to do it with characters like Guile or Blanka?
Its pretty much the same as i did with Honda, you just time the UP +K after a split second after they have went over your head. But i will try to demonstrate that in a future vid, sure.

Does the crosscut dp work the same in older games as it does here?
It's game specific. Some games require the correct input, others auto correct. Look up info for the specific game.
