If you don't understand the act, then one can only conclude you are lacking in empathy and maybe moral ethics. I suppose it's all down to how you've been brought up and Whether you've the ability to show some respect for another human being.
      P.S
Or you are just being a Troll, in which case, you lack everything!

alex wintermeyer ... Ask anyone who has ever felt better, even for a moment, because of a word or gesture from another (i.e., 'helping')
Sadly, this is news because this kind of thing, while quite common in the past, has become incredibly rare. And also because it might teach just one person how signs of respect can be uplifting.

      Thank you Colonel Usrey!!
The respect, dignity & gratitude & plain old decency of bygone generations. This respect was strongest on our WWII veterans generations. Look at the numbers of those veterans who continue to pay their respects at War Memorials to the day they die. And come back to have their ashes scattered with their brothers in uniforms. Evidence is at the Pearl Harbor memorial. Each year the numbers of remaining veterans goes down. But the families still return in respect to the fallen. It is the greatest generation of Americans to date. We the children of these WWI, & WW11 veterans, baby boomers and all were taught the respect and traditions. The traditions seem to have faded as the 1990's moved forward. Lots of the younger generations born after the late 1980's to 1990's have lost the values, respect that were ingrained into the spirit & souls of Americans! Proud Americans.... Save the heart & soul of our America!! 🙏🙏✌✌👏👏

Here in the UK, if I ever see a procession passing by, I stop and pay respects. Also, when my Grandmother died, her street knew about it, and neighbours and friends paid respects as we drove by.

I wish that was true. We have to fight our way there Orlando streets cas no one cares. The family is grieving and people cut in and out of there funerals just to beat so red lights. We tell them to get out and now the owner of metro is looking at jail cas he try's to keep family's safe on funerals

As a police officer in he UK we were instructed that whilst on duty and in full uniform if a hearse was to pass we would also stand at the kerbside turn and salute that hearse whilst it passed. as a mark of respect. That was as a mark of respect for a member of the society that I was sworn in to protect. My society, my public, home town. I don't see that anymore but then I don't see uniformed officers patrolling the streets. do you.
I am now retired but if a hearse is passing to a funeral I still stop and bow my head and if wearing a hat I remove it as a mark of respect to the deceased and their family.
